Meets expectations for a downtown burger joint. Great burger, exceptional fries and shake, limited seating, and a charming staff...
I had THE best burger ever!! Fresh meat smoked bacon , cheese with a spicy cherry and pepper sauce!!
Amazingly good food!!!! I got the Smoked burger and cheese fries. It was sooo delicious. Just a bit pricey, they should make the meals instead. But overall it was great.
In town on a work trip and needed something casual late at night! I had a wonderful burger and the fried were tasty. Best of all was the Shackweiser(?). Great draft beer!
Excellent food really busy but everyone loves this spot was out of mayo but their special mayo was really good! Ice cream was fantastic and everything was fresh was a very good meal!
Popped in for a chocolate shake. Superb. Thick, rich, chocolaty & just the right amount of malt. Second trip here. Food is also good. I recommend it.
Yummmmmm. Great food and would definitely recommend to try their burgers
The burgers were undeniably delicious the pickles crisp, and the fries had the right amount of salt Come for a burger and stay for a shake or concrete
Staff were very nice and helpful food was tasty I will recommend you to my mates back home in Australia 👍
My favourite burger place in USA 😍
My favourite is the smokeshack burger, love how it tastes cause of the bell pepper added and the combination of bacon and the beef patty is delicious ❤️
I also tried the tiramisu shake, it was yummy and so heavy 😋
Pricing is ok... around 6-7 $ for a burger but it’s not very filling...
When you want a rather inexpensive alternative to dining out, try out this place. You can either eat in or outside on the sidewalk. This would be a great place if you have kids and don't want to have to spend a ton of money or time waiting for a meal. Great burgers, fries and shakes.
I had the Smokeshack Burger which was excellent. I also ordered cheese fries and a shake, and I found myself really enjoying the meal as a whole. The only issue I had was with my milkshake. I opted to get the brownie batter milkshake when I think I would've been better off going with a classic flavor. All in all, I would definitely recommend Shake Shack and this location in particular.
Expensive place for a fast food meal. I had chicken hot dog, chocolate shake and cheese fries. Food was really good but I feel quantity could be more... I heard this place is good for burgers... I should have taken that.. Ambiance is pretty good and seats are hard to find as this place is always full..
Ambaince:3.5/5
Food: 4/5
Cost: 3/5
This place is good but extremely expensive for burgers, hotdogs, and fries. It cost me and my wife over $40 for our meal. With that said the quality was very good. I enjoyed their exclusive beer on tap. Just pricey for what it is.
Good Milkshakes. We stopped in for an afternoon snack, we both chose milkshakes. My husband had chocolate and I had strawberry. The shakes were nice, creamy and thick and without any lumps (bonus!). I would like to try their burgers and fries.
Burgers are amazing. Moist & fresh. A must have. But they are small. Better order two if you have a big appetite.
Love the fries!. We stopped by the Shake Shack after visiting the MLK Monument on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. We were starving from all the walking (but truth be known, we took a pedicab back to Penn Quarter from the monument). Awesome fries! They remind me of the fries from my grandmother's dairy bar back in Ohio, except these were crinkle cut. I haven't tasted that flavor in years. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with amazing flavor. In my opinion, the burger and chocolate shake were just okay.... but the fries.... WOW!!!!
All of the food was clearly fresh, home made and served piping hot, the service was brusque and prompt and everything we ate was delicious. I dropped a Canadian $10 bill in the washroom and someone handed it over to the waitress. When I saw her hold it up to the light to look at it and show it to a patron and they were wondering if it's even real currency, I knew it was mine. The new Canadian bills are actually polymer with a sheer panel down the side so if you haven't seen one before, they can look kind of weird but I was still thrilled that someone actually found it and handed it over, even if it looks like shiny monopoly money. Of course, this act of good faith just reinforced my naive fantasies about small town America, diners and an Opie on every corner. waffles full of Reece's Pieces? Don't mind if I do Hill Country BBQ place I had a place picked out for our first dinner in Washington but Shack really wanted BBQ. On the recommendation of our waiter at the hotel, we ventured out to Chinatown to seek out his choice for us
While we were in Washington DC, we decided to check out Shake Shack. The burgers were really good, but they were a bit small. The fries were tasty too, and the shakes were absolutely delicious and perfectly thick. The staff was friendly, and they quickly cleaned up the tables and made sure we were happy with everything. Ordering through the kiosk was convenient and fast.
The only downside was that we had to wait around 20 minutes, but it's probably because they make the food fresh. Overall, we had a great experience, but the portions could have been bigger, and it was a bit pricey, which seems to be typical for downtown Washington DC.
If you like good old fashioned hamburgers and shakes regardless of the price, then I’d say that Shake Shack on F Street should be one of your go-to places.
However, if you’re like me and you prefer to eat food that’s cheap and of good quality, then I’d probably go elsewhere. To be honest, $25 for a burger and shake is a lot of money. I wish that the restaurant served additional healthy side options like vegetables and freshly squeezed juices.
Otherwise, I don’t find it terrible. I just wish that it was more affordable.
At least they had good seating and service. I am happy that the leader of Geek Nite Out introduced Shake Shack on F Street to me. :)
The food tastes very good and is also served quickly. You definitely get what you expect. However, the prices for a fast-food restaurant are significantly too high. $20 for a burger, sandwich, and a drink is too expensive. At In-N-Out, you can get four burgers for that amount of money.
shake shack never fails to deliver. always a 5/5 wish you expanded more into Europe, need you in Sweden. Burgers like these would solve world peace.
The screens were not allowing us to ask for a single shake Shack burger so the person behind the counter took our order and was so helpful and nice, great service! Then an employee offered to bus our table completely unprompted. I ordered the vegan burger and while I ordered it without cheese and it came with cheese we just took it off and it was delicious.
Let's start with the cheeseburger. Shake Shack's classic cheeseburger is a masterpiece of simplicity and taste. The juicy, perfectly cooked Angus beef patty is nestled between two soft and slightly toasted potato buns. Topped with a slice of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and their signature Shack Sauce, each bite offers a symphony of flavors and textures. The combination of high-quality ingredients and the Shack Sauce's tangy, slightly sweet profile elevates this cheeseburger to new heights. It's a true representation of comfort food done right.
Complementing the cheeseburger, the chocolate milkshake at Shake Shack is a decadent delight that is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Creamy, velvety, and rich, the milkshake is made from real chocolate, resulting in a flavor that is both intense and indulgent. Served in a classic Shake Shack cup with a thick straw, every sip is a luxurious experience. The balance of sweetness and chocolatey goodness is spot on, making it the perfect companion to the cheeseburger or a standalone treat.
The service at Shake Shack is efficient and friendly. The staff members are welcoming and attentive, ensuring a seamless ordering process and promptly delivering the food. The atmosphere is casual, with a lively vibe that adds to the overall experience. The dining area is clean, well-maintained, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating options.
Another aspect worth mentioning is Shake Shack's commitment to using high-quality ingredients and sustainable sourcing practices. Their dedication to providing responsibly raised beef and supporting local suppliers adds an extra layer of appreciation for their offerings.
While Shake Shack is popular and can get busy, especially during peak hours, the efficient ordering system and attentive staff help minimize wait times and ensure a smooth dining experience.
The staff were super friendly and not what you’d expect in a fast food place. The burger and fries were great but not the best I’ve ever had (see Gasoline Grill in Copenhagen if you get the chance). I even added the smoked applewood bacon. The chocolate shake (small size) was refreshing. I can see why it’s called shake shake and not burger shack. A decent, affordable option for lunch or dinner in downtown Washington.
The burger is quite satisfying, made in the classic old-fashioned style. I ordered a plain cheeseburger, and it was delicious without being overly messy—just the right balance. I paid a total of $18.45 for two plain cheeseburgers and a soft drink.
A solid 5 stars. This location really has their craft dialed in. They served a huge school field trip in front of me in a timely manner and then my food as well. The seating can get tight, but, they also have outdoor seating, and you’re not going to do much better for seating in a Shake Shack.
I have been there many times, the staff is very friendly, the restaurant is very clean and the food is so good!
