I really enjoy this place. I seldom come to D.C. anymore and fail to visit this place. The food is great, the atmosphere is very French and the service is always spot on. I highly recommend a visit. The escargot is some of the best I've had.
Closest experience to visiting Brussels or Paris for casual bistro dining and drinking you can have in Washington.
Great staff, great service, great food and a great atmosphere. Everything came out prompt and was delicious!
Perfect lunch out with my Dad, as always. Local place with a classic French menu, and an extensive
selection of beautiful mussel flavors!
Loved their food! Cannot go wrong with any of the items I had: 1)Tartiflette Savoyarde 2)Poire Belle Hélène et 3)Bisou de Paris! It is a cozy-welcomig place with really good service. Can't wait to go back!
I was in the area earlier today and decided to stop in, ive been to Bistro Du Coin about twenty times and always leave happy. I dined alone and sat at the bar, the young woman behind the bar was very sweet and offered helpful suggestions, I decided on the seafood ravioli, it was heavenly and had two glasses of Lillet Rouge for only $7 a pop!
Love this place. I’ve been away 7 years and it’s just as wonderful as I remembered! ❤️
Amazing food! I have not had French Onion Soup that good outside of France. I loved the ambiance and the service. I will definitely make this one of my normal places to grab dinner in DC.
The food was perfect and the service felt as if we were in Europe.
I love Bistrot du Coin. It’s become a tradition for me and a friend to eat there before heading to whatever embassy is hosting a Eurovision Song Contest viewing party.
My steak was overcooked but I think it was just bad luck. I was impressed by the snails and mussels-- they were really good. Drinks and wine selection is diverse. Place tends to be crowded frequently so make sure you make a reservation if you can.
The rabbit stew was amazing! It was recommended to me; I wouldn’t of thought to order it. But it was so good! The meat fell off the bone. And the mustard sauce was delicious! Great wine too.
We spotted Bistrot Du Coin as we walked past and I'm glad we stopped to check the menu. I made reservations for the following night and we were not disappointed.
The Moules a la Bretonne (mussels in a wonderful lobster bisque) was delicious, so flavorful and rich! The smaller portion was still enough for two.
The Filet de Boeuf Poele was tender and it, too, was a nice portion. The meal definitely satisfied my craving for French cuisine.
The restaurant is very busy so if you're intending to go, reservations are recommended.
Amazing French food in a beautiful restaurant. This place feels authentic, warm, welcoming, and the right kind of busy. The service is always fantastic and I eat here whenever I’m in the city.
We had a group dinner so ordered several appetizers and bottles of wine. I highly recommend the French onion soup and escargots, as well as the mussels in lobster bisque. The house steak frites is always cooked perfectly and if you have time and space try to order dessert.
I adore French cafes and this one did not disappoint! The vibe is super French. The mussels are fabulous! THE BREAD was AMAZING. Service was top notch and we enjoyed a delightful dinner here. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend!
Absolutely lovely. The food was amazing and the bread was so fresh and warm. Highly recommend getting some pieces to dip in your leftover cheese. Not a cool date night vibe, but definitely cozy and familiar. Staff is very attentive, but let you enjoy your meal and the atmosphere. Looking forward to returning even if it’s just for the bread.
Good food, friendly and efficient staff, incredibly quick service. My favorite was the French onion soup. I got the chocolate mousse to go, which was also fantastic. The restaurant was busy, but they are a very well-oiled machine and I still got great customer service. Definitely recommend!
This is a very interesting restaurant. Hundreds of French pictures and trinkets fill the walls. You will definitely get a feel of French culture when visiting this restaurant. The staff are great! They were all accommodating, and very friendly! It was packed, but the waitstaff made their way around to check on us very frequently. The food I tried was okay. I wasn’t amazed, but it wasn’t terrible. I’d definitely give them another try, I just wasn’t impressed today. They do have a great wine and cocktail selection though.
Very fun. Very French. Outstanding food and atmosphere. One of our best dinners in DC.
The beef bourguignon was the best I have ever had in my life!!!! Also make sure you get the escargot.
My husband’s all time favorite place in DC! So it was the obvious choice to celebrate our anniversary there! My first time and I absolutely loved it! Having lived in Brussels this French bistro reminds me of the bistros in Brussels! Simply loved it! From our starters to the mains!!
Highly recommend anyone to visit and enjoy true French cuisine!
LOVED this place! Escargo was INCREDIBLE, save the sauce to dip your bread, trust me!
BESTTTT French Onion soup and I try it everywhere I go, wine was divine, main was incredible.
Will return and bring our kids. Great staff and environment!
This place was lively. Tables were available. Food was delicious. The server was nice and helpful.
Good food! Average price. Wine per glass could be a bit better quality. Recommendable for eating.
What an interesting vibe. It’s a happening place. It’s the place to see and be seen. Very loud and fun.
The food is a hit or miss. It really depends on what you order.
DO ORDER : Beef Stew in a Red Burgundy Wine Sauce with Onions, Mushrooms & Pasta. Absolutely delicious! For the dessert you can’t go wrong with the Classic Creme Brulée with Vanilla Bean. It’s don’t right here.
DO NOT ORDER : The Pan Seared Beef Tenderloin. It was so chewy. It was not cooked properly. I had to spit some out in my napkin because I could just not get it to break down. Don’t order it! As for the dessert, the Poached Pear with Vanilla Ice Cream did not do anything for me. The pear did not go well for the creamy ice cream. They just put giant chucks of it in there. Again, don’t order it.
One of my favorite OG DuPont circle restaurants for reliable and unpretentious French food. Is it the best food? No, it’s better than that. It’s your local neighborhood bistro that you can count on. If you’ve lived in Paris, you know what I’m talking about. The wine is also consistently good. I love coming here for beaujolais day! I had the mussels last night and they were great. The fries were clutch. I’ve eaten just about everything on the menu over the last 20 years and I keep coming back.
Everything about Bistrot Du Coin had us eat here three times during our brief stay in DC. Service was fast and friendly with the food served incredibly quickly. The atmosphere was celebratory each visit and the decor was fun, and the food was outstanding. My father-in-law shared if you are going try escargot, this is the place to do it; I did and they were delicious. The French onion soup, bibb salad, and goat cheese salad were all great appetizers, and every entree we had was outstanding, including the lamb stew, hanger steak, mussels, and chicken entrees. We went light on desserts with the creme brûlée being a nice, reasonable portion and delicious. The elderberry lemonade and and ginger beer were unique and tasty compared to all others I’ve had with both being less sweet than I had expected. The improvements that I would like to see are that the table bread is served either warm or cold every time, not one or the other (warm preferable), and the fries should always be hot which they were never for us. Merci, Bistrot Du Coin!
