Overall: 5.00. Tres magnifique! Le Chat Noir is as charming & chic as the food is scrumptious & artistically beautiful. Kudos to the chef & team. Impeccable attention to detail & presentation of dishes. While pricey, it’s worth the culinary “experience”. I relished every last bite. Strongly & enthusiastically recommend dining here for romantic dinner or special occasions. Be sure to make reservations.

I joined a friend for brunch at this restaurant over the weekend. Finding a parking spot was easy on the nearby side streets, and for those who prefer not to drive, the restaurant is conveniently located near the metro. Despite being a weekend, the restaurant was not very crowded, with only a few parties in attendance. The waiting staff was very welcoming and attentive. At the beginning, baguettes with butter were served. From the brunch menu, I ordered the Norwegian eggs benedict which came with a choice of salad or fries. I opted for the fries, which were tasty. Overall, the dish was decent, but it didn't stand out as exceptional. For dessert, I tried the chocolate mousse along with a cappuccino (there were no non-dairy creamer options available). The chocolate mousse was light and delicious. I appreciated the friendly and attentive service provided by the staff, and the food was good overall, but there were a few areas that could be improved upon.

I had first visited Le Chat Noir about 15 years ago, not long after they opened, and somehow had not made it back until Restaurant Week this year. And I'm glad I came back. The physical space is pretty small and bareboned. The closeness of the tables reminded me of bistros in Europe. It's not as cozy as it could be, though, which is why I have the ambiance just 4 stars. There seemed to be only three people working the tables, but they were excellent! Moving so quickly and ensuring everyone had everything they needed. The waiter who served us was French-speaking and happy to hear even a few words of French spoken back at him. He was lovely. The cocktail and wine menu isn't super long, but all that's offered is superb. I enjoyed my Kir Royal and a glass of French Grenache. And the food - that's the main reason to come! My husband and I got different things, so we could try two of everything, and were quite impressed with the quality. The Crepe Nana (with Roquefort and pear) was very unusual and very tasty. The pate was on par with other good French restaurants in DC. I thoroughly enjoyed my pork medallions, while my husband's steak was also quite good, though maybe not a full 5 (more like a solid 4). And both of the desserts (the profiterole with ice cream and the chocolate mouse) were outstanding. All this is to say - definitely worth the visit. I personally want to try their brunch next!

I only ordered a creme brulee and a French baguette for delivery, the truth is that it feels authentic, the bread is delicious, hot with butter is out of this world and the creme brule delicious, I will definitely return to eat at the place to try their dishes.

Went late before closure but we were invited to seat in nonetheless. This is the first thing that made me love the place. The restaurant really looks like you are in France , from the decorations to the lighting. My wife had the bijoux de boeuf and I had le saumon danseur! Food barely took 7 minutes to come. Let me tell you that i never ate anything so good in a long time. This was truly french gastronomy! If you read this, Thank you guys for your authenticity! Before our food actually came we were given the best pieces of french bread with butter we had in a while. And before we left we had the best crème brûlée! I wish i could time travel and eat everything again. Our server Mr. Issa was not only accommodating but extremely friendly and spoke french! He recommended my wife a very good sweet white wine and she really loved it with her meat. My kids had a made up items that was not on the menu, which they really loved ! This place is génial ! I would definitely go again. Parking was easy and free in a street adjacent to the next door restaurant. I wish i could give 10 stars just for the fact that we were invited in even though they were about to close! Thank you guys

Ignore negative comments about the service. The owner and all the staff were efficient, helpful and warmed up nicely with a minimum of effort. Challenged my 23 year olds regarding drinking age quietly and in french, accepting their oral assurance they were legal. Very nice touch. Crowded Saturday night, less than 5 minute wait for reserved table. Food prices are excellent reflecting solid choices, old standards, and a few gourmet choices. Reasonable wine prices (no domestic wines) and the recommended Chardonnay was delicious at $55 bottle. Trio du Terrior is one of my favorites and the beef choices we had were up to par. Unlike a big name, high priced restaurant the dishes were 95% as good at 60% of the price. Desserts amazing!!! Full dinner for 3 people including the wine was under $200 before tip. I will be back. 2nd visit.....2/2020 same as first. Everyone super efficient and food delicious.

The best Quiche Lorraine I ever ate. My motivation and reward for walking from Friendship Heights to the Tenleytown Metro is to stop at Le Chat Noir for lunch.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The mussels and thyme-rosemary French fries; the quiche du jour; the mushroom puff pastry; the chocolate mousse; and the cocktails. The fries in particular were outstanding, perhaps the best I've ever had. One of my top 3 restaurants in DC!

Delicious French flavorful food, classic drinks and wine, fantastic ambiance. Really feels like you are in France. The halibut special was particularly “incroyable”.

Not only was the food delicious, the customer service was exquisite. The way we were greeted made us feel like family. The owner and manager welcomed us as if we were old friends. The restaurant has a very romantic setting with a lovely terrace to enjoy your meal--especially on a warm, breezy evening. I plan to dine more often and to bring friends! Kudos to Sam and Issa!
