So delicious and amazing service. Great flavor selection and many selections. Both servers were kind and helpful. They made our first experience with Rita's fun and memorable. Later on, we ordered Uber Eats and our Italian ice and frozen custard arrived perfectly. We will be back with our friends! Thank you :)
The Italian ice is delicious, especially the strawberry-mango. It's my weekend summer treat. I must applaud the staff for their politeness and patience. As you can imagine, customers want to sample almost every flavor. BEWARE- the tips on your credit card DON"T go the the staff. I plan to contact a reporter to see if they're interested in an investigative story. For this reason, I'm knocking down a star.
I've only been to this location 3 times, but every time I've been, the ladies have been super welcoming, professional, fun and kind! The employees always seem like they're having a good time and their energy is contagious. I went out of my way to make a trip today and I'm glad I did.
Clean store, quick service in touristy Chinatown. Great on a hot day!
Ordered a Mango Italian Ice. The Italian Ice sweets are the only ones available without eggs in them.
Portion sizes are pretty generous so even the Regular size was a good one. Great for a treat on a hot summer day. Still loaded with calories - so try not to make this a regular habit!
One star deducted because the flavor tasted like artificial syrup - not sure if it's entirely natural or made of chemicals.
Who doesn't love Rita's? This place typically has a short line & since they only have a couple of tables you're better off taking your Rita's to go. I gave it 4 stars though because it could use some cleaning. It's not gross but it's not the tidiest either. Definite tourist stop along the way of Chinatown so there's that π
I love Italian ice. I was over the moon to find that it was available in more flavors than lemon and strawberry. I had mango and raspberry lemonade. I had the concoction of Italian ice, layered with vanilla custard. I was skeptical on adultrating the perfect food (Italian ice), I was wishing I had ordered the large. No picture I was eating it on the way to my seat and once again failed to get a picture.
One of my favorite things to do in Chinatown on a hot day, especially in pea soup season (if you've experienced it you know!!!). Now the stars are strictly for the young ladies that serve up all that yummy coolness. Cause the owners are killing the business softly with a lack of understanding about what makes Rita's amazing and a Philly staple.
Be warned:
There's no pretzels... Go to H street if you must have one.
There's almost NEVER any LEMON. I didn't even know a Rita's could exist without Alex's Lemonade or regular π. They almost always have black cherry which is ok with me... Buuuuuuutttttttt it's actual blasphemy to not have lemon and cherry that's like Baskin Robbins with no chocolate or vanilla...where they do that at???!!!??? Nowhere but this place...πππ.
On a more positive notes it's a short two block walk to the National Portrait Gallery/SAAM where you can sit on the steps (in sun or shade you choose and there's usually enough seating for everyone to have what they want) and eat your treat while getting in some serious people watching. And I recommend you see some art after...ijs you're already there.
This is a great place to stop and grab a quick treat. The custard is rich and delicious, and I definitely recommend the strawberry mango ice. When roaming around DC, stop here and take a break.
This place was awesome ! First time trying Rita's :) I had apple gelati it was delicious. Kudos to the gentlemen working In front, who greeted us. I will definitely come back for more.
