Excellent food, excellent service! I highly recommend this place if you're ever in DC, especially if you're anywhere near the zoo.
The food is always fantastic and the customer service is spot on.
A little hole-in-the-wall deli just a short walk north of the Zoo. Excellent gyro sandwich!
Outstanding Greek food hands down its not your trendy shallow place is real fresh. .fantastic
Amazing food and Marco is the best. A must every time I'm in DC
First time trying this place out and found it as a last minute dinner option and was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious, and the portions were generous! We ordered the gyro platter and chicken herb platter , both were around $14 including tax. The hummus was amazing and the pita bread was even better the next day when we baked it! We also ordered a piece of their baklava $3. The baklava was a bit too sweet for me but still yummy! Will be coming back and def recommend if you are in the neighborhood!
The food was delicious and very nice staff. Ordered two lamb gyros and got steaming fresh food. The baklava was very rich in honey and tasted great. Gyros were priced at $9.75 a piece and baklava $3 a piece. Will definitely be coming back next time we're in the area.
I was really craving some hummus and this place definitely satisfied that craving. The food was fresh and delicious. Plenty of seating and has a home feel!
Small place, friendly staff, good food.
Byblos is a simple little Greek spot on Connecticut Ave. I stopped by for a quick dinner, which consisted of a spinach and cheese in filo dough platter, including a salad and French Fries.
It was very simple, nothing extraordinary, but not a bad meal either. The owner was very honest and helpful. There was a young couple or pair of friends dining in a couple tables away from me, and a guy dining in at the opposite side of the restaurant. There was a counter where you order, two refrigerators where you could pick up sodas or water bottles, and a kitchen in the back.
Not much more to this place, and it's mostly unassuming, which has its charm to some people. Note that I went a little bit after the general dinner rush, and so they didn't have many customers come in, nor did they have any dessert options available when I arrived, which was disappointing. No Baklava for me :( Maybe another visit.
I'd recommend Byblos Deli for a quick bite to eat if you're in the mood for simple Greek dishes.
4/5 stars.
Great customer service, amazing food, very affordable and filling. I got the chicken shawarma and a water bottle, came out to $10.18
Great food, amazing service, and real people. The owner went out of his way to accommodate the customers, and has a great sense of humor.
We took our last summer intern out for lunch. We all enjoyed the food and felt that the food tasted very good and was homemade. The service was good, the wait for food varied for example the gyros came out quickly while the special took 5-10 minutes longer. One, thing that we were disheartened by was that they only had a 2 pieces of Baklava left while there were 8 people in our party. I will say I enjoyed the piece that I got.
This is a great place to eat fantastic Greek / Mediterranean food. I was visiting the Zoo with my daughter and found this gem by accident.
The place is very simple and not glamorous at all but the food delivers with flavor and quality.
Pricing wise is affordable and the options are extensive.
Highly recommended! Hope to come back soon.
Don’t sleep on Byblos. Great little greek deli, fantastic gyros, souvlaki, salad, fries. Was given a drink with the meal for no extra charge. Mans wouldn’t let me tip the first time I came in because I paid in cash 😂. Moral of the story is, great local business— visit Byblos.
Byblos is a good little spot that you might not notice if you were just walking by. It doesn't call a lot of attention to itself but the food is tasty and affordable by DC standards. I had the Kafta Kebab and fries. The kebab was seasoned well and included exceptionally creamy hummus, as well as tomatoes, onions, and beef The fries were cut thick, lightly salted, and fried optimally (personally I don't like it when fries are super crispy, but these were great). Also a highlight (at least for me) was that Byblos carried Stewart's soda, which is some of the best you can get in my opinion, and is sweetened purely with cane sugar. On top of everything, the server was friendly, and the food was prepared quickly. I would definitely come here again if I wanted to grab a quick bite.
I originally wanted the chicken wings special with fries&soda, but they didn't have the wings, so I settled for chicken tenders. I also got the barley soup, and baklava. It was all very good. The tenders were seasoned just right, and the baklava was delicious!!! I recommend this place. Very friendly cook. He did a great job!! Next time I'll try the Byblos special!! 👍
Delicious. Very fresh food, very friendly service. Small restaurant but enough seating to dine in. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend if looking for quality mediterranean food.
This place was bomb! Was driving around Northwest and saw the reviews on Google... Very impressed. The grape leaves were great, the baba was smokey and fresh, and the hummus was excellent and creamy.
The gyro was also quite good but I will definitely give the chicken souvlaki a try next time. This place is awesome.
I’ve been coming here for years and EVERYTHING on the menu is always fresh and delicious. Def give it a try and remember , support your local businesses ! 💚
Marco is the man! Deli does not do this place justice ... Eatery would better serve you. The spinach pie! Yep is official the baklava is handmade in the store! If you want a tastbud explosion ask for a hamburger with gyro meat and everything on it no mustard and have Carlos make it!!
Absolutely lovely place! The food was delicious, the worker (or owner, I'm not sure) was friendly, and the service was fast. My partner and I ordered falafel pitas, and a soda and spent $23 (with tax and tip included) in total. The owner brought out a FREE order of fries after we got our food too!! It was incredibly kind. I think it may have been because we were the only ones in the store when we went (4:30 pm on a Monday) lol. Definitely would go again!!!!
Very nice cuts of gyro meat! Excellent lunch option if in the area.
Our stop at this restaurant was one of the best things of our trip, the food was excellent, all vegetables were fresh and the meat was well cooked. The prices are good as well. Totally worth it.
Also the staff working were super nice and polite.
