I go every summer to captain Whites to enjoy thier large meaty crabs. They never disappoint and always has the best sales!!!!

It was my bday weekend and all I wanted was a seafood feast. Boy oh Boy, did they deliver. We got a bushel of mixed males and females, crawfish, shrimp and crab legs and not to forget raw oysters. Excellent service, great smiles. I will MOST DEFINITELY be back

Wide variety of fresh, delicious seafood that you cannot find at your local supermarket!! I picked up some Red Snapper, Ling and Bronzini!!! Remember this is a popular location so depending upon what time you go, be prepared to have patience in case you may have to wait awhile! It is worth the wait! Love getting my fish here!!!

We been coming to them for years and have gotten crabs almost this whole summer 18" they have the best sale the juicest crab and they are very nice and fast if u looking for good heavy crabe this is the place to be

Service was friendly. Prices are just okay. Was open air, so there were flies landing on the stuff. There were 2 lines, long one for crabs and short line on the shrimp, etc. side. Cost to cook was $5.
Had the live female blue crab and peeled and deveined shrimp. Crab was just okay and did not have much more meat than a smaller size. Shrimp was good. Only the lobster shrimp available looked larger, the other selections looked about the same size.
I would season them myself if having them cooked here. The stuff used was heavy on salt.
Parking looked insufficient. Melted seafood ice water and cooking water running down parking lot.
Captain White’s Seafood is the best! It’s easy to call in to place an order. They always have great deals and post the prices on Facebook. The crabs are fresh and they cook them to perfection, so tasty! The parking is a plus and the staff is very friendly. Love coming here for the crabs and fresh seafood. Thank you!
So this place is awesome. I woke up craving steamed crabs and didn’t want to go all the way to Annapolis. So I googled local places, and found Captain Whites. I bought a dozen large jimmies steamed with heavy seasoning, and let me tell you, there was not a single dud in the batch. Every crab was heavy with meat, and with a little re-steaming at home to heat them up, the meat was tender, sweet, and delicious. I will definitely be returning this summer for more.
My first time checking out Captain White's at the Oxon Hill location. The line to purchase moved quite quickly. I purchased a dozen large male crabs, a pound of peeled/deveined shrimp with a roll of paper. I paid an extra $5 to have the crabs and shrimp steamed. That was an experience. It took about 45 minutes for that process to be completed. Thank goodness the sun was not shining even though it was warm outside because it would have been miserable waiting. It was definitely worth the wait. Crabs and shrimp were both delicious.
I’ve been here several times and it’s always smooth sailing. Glad I don’t have to deal with the wharf any more where there isn’t any legal parking. Captain White’s have updated their seafood containment stations. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I would suggest getting there early. Parking isn’t the greatest, but there is an entire parking lot across the street. This going to be your best spot for seafood if you live in the DMV.
It was my first time visiting this location. I waited for 10 minutes. Ruben was the only person came over SMILED, the guy in the grey hat was also nice. Ruben made me feel so comfortable, and welcome. Although I did not spend allot of money he treated me like I had 1 million dollars… I will definitely tell my entire family, so we can all support your business. Ruben was amazing and I will be forever grateful!!!!!..He is a wonderful man, and I can say he will have bright future… This guy made me feel so special he needs a raise…

Got 1/2 bushel of large male blue crabs plus Carolina shrpims and clams yesterday. Crabs are excellent, shrimps are good. Clams are a little over steamed and over spiced (next time I am going to steam clams myself). Overall, excellent*!!, especially considering how fair there price is. Highly recommended!!
This is the first time I visit them at the new location and I think they are better now, despite fewer selections (probably due to a cheaper lease and it seems that they have passed the savings to the customers, hopefully they can keep it up).
Don't bother calling in the order during the weekends afternoon. It is impossible to get the calls through. The wait time was about 30 minutes if your want their steaming service. Go in earlier, it was swamped around 5:30pm yesterday, I am sure those folks have to wait much longer if they want the steaming service.
I always liked Capitan White because they are one of the few shops (and there are fewer and fewer stores willing to do it now) that post their price on line. I just hate calling around for pricing.
* Crabs are excellent, but my guess is this is a good season (2023) for Crabs. My hunch is based on 1.) the fact that most recent reviews in many sites mentioned good crabs and, 2.) my visits to Captain White in have not always been as positive in the past.
Will certainly go back again this year Will update my review if future experience deviates from this one significantly.

Having been a customer of Captain White Seafood when it was at the Wharf in DC, I'm glad to see they found a new home off of Livingston Rd., in Oxon Hill, MD. We went to get Alaskan crabs and Shrimp, they also sold orher things like Maryland blue crabs, oysters, clams, crawfish, lobster shrimp, regular shrimp, etc. It was the first time we heard of and bought some lobster shrimp for almost $25.00 a pound but they were well worth it! It was a great suggestion by my Nephew and the young lady Sundye who help us! We went back twice to get more! You can also get everything steamed while you're there! We enjoyed everything we bought!
I took advantage of the buy one dozen, get one free today. Everyone was so nice and professional. Brian was very helpful and provided exceptional service. It’s good to come as early as possible. This is definitely my spot for crabs now!!!
I was there Sunday, March 26,2023. Seafood looks fresh, and a lot of people are in line in the parking lot, waiting to purchase crabs. I didn't know they moved from the Wharf to this location.
Beautiful blue crabs steamed to perfection. Hoping they ship those snow crab clusters to Los Angeles soon!
A must stop place in DC. What I would call local food, everything seems fresh and it’s cooked in the moment. Place smells like sea food as you may expect and captains white cooked food is in the back, fresh sea food in the front(did you see the size of those shrimps!!) We all enjoyed our crab cakes, shrimp, Mac n cheese, corn, potato wedges, lemonade. the area has changed a lot in the last few years, there’s lots of expensive hotels/restaurants, bars, people watching, etc. it’s not cheap and the lines can get long and they don’t have enough people (not their fault) but it’s definitely worth the wait and money. We will continue to return whenever we are in the DC wharf.
I have followed Captain Whites since a lil girl, down at the SW wharf. And when they moved I continued to follow them. They have the best crabs and seafood and steam them to perfection if needed. The staff are friendly and they make us the customers feel like family. Thank you for finding a new home with free parking.
Best place to buy fresh fish , crabs and seafood. They have raw and cooked seafood. A lot of variety of crabs and fresh water fish. They have place to cook the crabs and clean the fish. Usually very busy and can be hard to find parking , but private parking available. A lot of seafood restaurants around as well. Also very strong smell of fish and seafood. Must visit if you are in the area.
This was the first time I have been to the new location. The team there is ready and willing to help you get what you want. Although Captain White Seafood does not stream the crabs for you at this point they still offer the best crabs of the region. Check Captain White Seafood City on there Facebook page for weekly prices. Don't forget the old bay by the way.
