Walked in to grab a drink at the bar and ended up staying for dinner. What a great neighborhood restaurant! Friendly, attentive staff and the food didn't disappoint. Highly recommend this spot...in an area of town where service and quality are hard to find.
Went there for our work holiday party this past weekend. The staff was extremely attentive (I don't think my mimosa glass was ever empty!) and the food was wonderful. I would highly suggest the brussel sprouts and the fried chicken Benedict!
We had our holiday brunch of about 40 people at Scarlet Oak and it was so fun. The food, especially brussel sprouts and pizza, were very well done and flavorful. The bottomless drinks were generously poured and rapidly refilled. Everyone was pleasant and cheerful. Had a great time!
Carlos, one of the bar tenders, made the experience even better. He personally introduced himself to my friend and I and then remembered our names all night. It was an extra touch on top of his good service!
This place is top shelf. Food was outstanding. Service was impeccable. Great environment.

Great place-good food, fun environment, attentive service.
Great staff who were willing to accommodate all our parties needs. Friendly atmosphere and great service :)
I had not eaten a vegetable since 1989 until I had their brussels sprouts. They are an integral part of my life now.
Outside dining in the middle of big buildings. Atmosphere, people and food all great. We had Mac and Cheese, which was very cheesy and creamy. I had the blacken chicken with fries. I wish it had a little more "blacken", but it was still amazing. The onion poppy bun was something that could easily accompany just about any meal. It was awesome., especially will a little crisp from the pan sear. They do have indoor, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to sit outside. Big thank you to our server, Maria.
If you found my review helpful, please give it a thumbs up.
Scarlet Oak Restaurant & Bar definitely gets my approval. I received great service, my waiter knew exactly what each menu item was and gave his personal recommendations. The restaurant has a more intimate feel that gives off a cool vibe. Drinks where solid and food was delicious. I even had a little ice cream cake for dessert. Nice place to stop by if you’re near the yards SE.
This place has a good ambience, the prices are decent and food was pretty good. We ate on the outside patio on a Saturday and it wasn't crowded (no baseball game). Good for a first date, date night out or girls night out vibes.
So far, food is always pretty good at Scarlet Oak! The espresso martini was on point. However, the service has been quite slow from my experiences. Even when the restaurant was almost empty it took forever to track down our server to order, ask for the bill, etc. Definitely recommend Scarlet Oak if you are in the Navy Yard area; however, it may take some time.
We love the place. Small and cozy. The food is very good and reasonably priced.
The staff are very friendly. Great place to hang out and eat great food..
Steak had no flavor, needed salt lol...but the wings and fries were pretty good...home made fries btw...and the turkey club was great, real turkey pieces not slices, and the flavor was amazing...all in all, each plate was good portion sizes also! Waitress was sweet and laid back, easy to talk to and very honest about the menu which was much appreciated to not waste my time on the tea as it is a black tea not like brewed or sun tea...
We tried at the restaurant for the first time and loved the food and the service. The cheese pizza was totally awesome, so definitely try that out. The pasta was good, but the chicken was probably a little overcooked as it was very hard, but we were so hungry, so we ate it all. The shrimp volcano sushi was good, but I think it missed some sauces inside the sushi. The falafel wrap was awesome. The server was pretty friendly and gave us insights for our order. Overall, it's a good place for food, so definitely try this out.
Hadn’t been here in so long I felt like it was time for a review! The last I remembered was a really great brunch. So happy to have tried dinner. My friend and I shared the Korean bbq chicken wings. They were good! Not too spicy (but even if they were I like spice)
I ordered the Turkey club and she ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Both really good.
I wouldn’t order the Turkey club again only because it’s got an extra layer of bread and it was a lot of carbs for me.
A third friend showed up and ordered a sushi roll not pictured but also good
Ran into another friend super randomly at the bar and he was ordering pizza take out. He said it’s Detroit style and amazing. Never realized same owners as side door next door!
Drinks: I ordered a spicy margarita, it had a chili 🌶️ in it but it wasn’t very spicy. Tasted good though.
My friend ordered a cocktail and enjoyed it. The name was something tiki it was purplish. 😅🤷🏽♀️
Also the service. So great. We were being taken care of by Josh, he was awesome. I was watching my friends dog and didn’t have all the supplies and Josh brought a huge water bowl out for him on the patio . So I would say the patio is dog friendly!
This place was very cute and one of the few areas near the stadium that served winter cocktails. I had the Cobb salad with chicken while my partner had the turkey club. Both came with way more food than we were expecting for being close to a tourist destination. Would love to come back during baseball season to see what it has to offer.
We can‘t recommend the Pizza Hawai
The Brisket Steak was delicious but after a short time cold, because the meat was already cut in pieces
Loved this place! Good cocktails, great sushi. The Maryland crab sushi roll was a little weird though, my first time with celery in a roll. The Chicago style pizza was great! Oh, and our service was awesome. Give it a try, you’ll thank me.
The dudes behind the bar last night were really good at their job and you could tell. Everyone coming up to the bar would say hi and use their names. Guest spoke Spanish with them and they used it right back.
I ate the Detroit style pizza and it's just like a pizza in Detroit.
The alcoholic drinks were amazing but I do wish their menu had more drink names on it.
I visited this restaurant for dinner and it was amazing! The food is so good! My steak and drinks were absolutely delicious! I had to force myself, but I finished that steak 😂😂😂😂 I didn’t want to save it for later. The staff are also great! Everyone that came in contact with us were very friendly and helpful! I’m excited to return for another steak, it was so good! I definitely recommend you check this place out, you won’t regret it!

The attentive service and warm atmosphere make Scarlet Oak a perfect spot for any occasion, whether it's a casual dinner or a special celebration. Dining at Scarlet Oak guarantees a memorable experience that will leave you coming back for more.
My partner and I had dinner here for a special occasion and while I didn’t know what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised! It felt like a cozy family restaurant with a wide selection of menu options that would fit any budget and any picky eater. Highly recommend for a quick bite or a night out!
We hosted a corporate happy hour at Scarlet Oak and I could not be more happy with how it went! The entire staff was super friendly and attentive and the food & drinks were great.
Came here for a quick bite before the nats game and this place did not disappoint! My fiancé and I shared the Brussel Sprouts and the Double Dip appetizers, both were delicious! The place had a cool vibe and our server was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!
Okay so food is good (not 5 or 4 star quality but overall good food). I got the fried chicken benedict and eggs were perfect, chicken was okay, and biscuits were good. Home fries were great and the extra bacon I ordered was well bacon! Great deal on $16 bottomless mimosas and they are super friendly and helpful. Overall a 4 star review due to attention and overall vibe.
