I tried the union market location a while back, and I was disappointed. I think it might have been because it was the end of the day, and all the food did not taste fresh, but this time around, it was for the most part pretty good!
I got 3 tacos, one chicken, one pork, and one tofu. The chicken and pork were really yummy! Tasted the fusion of Korean and Mexican flavors! The tofu was just meh, but I think tofu fusion is always meh, and Korean tofu should only be in stew or steamed with kimchi imo. The slaws for each taco were also yummy, but still kept the flavor of the meat as the star.
Gonna knock the price because it was 11.35 for 3 tacos, but definitely worth it on Taco Tuesday when the price goes down to 7.35. Go on Tuesdays!!!
Place is very clean, if a little sterile, but no complaints from me there!
One of the best fast food spots in Navy Yard. Can’t go wrong with any of the menu options. Staff is friendly, and the food quality is always consistent. Definitely recommend.
I asked the server would he suggest the tacos or the bowl and he HIGHLE suggested I order the bowl.
My boyfriend ordered the 3 tacos with pork, chicken and steak tacos and for some reason they had very little to no taste.
I ordered the chicken bowl with brown rice with the gochiu pow toppings. It's was really good but not really filling.
Sadly, I was hungry a couple of hours later. Great place for a quick lunch if you're in the yard though.
Enjoyed both deciding on the ingredients of my bowl and eating it. I got a half brown rice, half spiced kale bowl of pork with a memorably sauce. My friend got the set of 3 chicken tacos on soft corn tortillas, which she has enjoyed several times before.
Highly recommend this fast casual spot for a quick dine-in or take out meal. I recommend the chicken bowl with half kale and half brown rice. Get all the sauces and topping.
extremely good. rice is cooked perfect every time, the beef is amazing, and the romaine slaw balances out all the flavors. Could eat this everyday. Also, have been going here for 2 years + and it is great EVERY time.
The food was very savory and delicious. The guacamole tasted fresh with chunks of avocado in it, very delicious. I had the the bowl with white rice, romaine slaw, tofu, poached egg, guacamole, sesame seeds, cilantro, and crunch shallots to finish it off.
I like this spot. The menu isnt too long, so you can easily decide on what to eat. I ordered a "Brown Rice Bowl", with Spiced kale, Tofu as the protein, and added a little Cilantro.
It was delicious!! I forgot the sauce that I ordered ( on the side ) but if I had to describe it, I'd say it was a mixture of Sriracha and a sweet bbq sauce.
It was a nice sized meal too.
I will be back!!
After initially having a bad experience, someone reached out to me to make it right. It’s rare for a company to care about their image and also about their customers! This company truly takes pride in what they do! Absolutely pleased the second go around!! 5 star food and even better ELITE customer service!! Thanks to the employees and especially BIG thanks to the person(I don’t want to put their name out for privacy reasons) who reached out!!
Naturally I am a creature of habit and don't usually try new places, however one day after working out, my training asked if I wanted lunch from here (it's like right next door). My goodness when I tell you this food is SO good. I get the Bowl with Kimchi , steak, rice and extra broccoli. It is such a flavorful dish. I get it at least once a week now.
I visited DC for the first time the other day and after driving three hours from Virginia Beach, we needed to get some lunch. I looked up local restaurants and TaKorean popped up. This intrigued my sister and I because we grew up with a Korean grandmother. We decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed! I got three bulgogi tacos and she got a kimchi slaw bowl. The tacos were some of the best tasting tacos I have ever eaten! The gochujang sauce gives it just the perfect amount of spice and flavor. If you have ever eaten kimchi, you know the difference between good kimchi and bad kimchi. My sister loved the kimchi slaw bowl! If we are ever back in town, this will definitely be our first stop!
TaKorean is a great place to try some Mexican-Korean fusion. Their three tacos plate is filling. Choose the type of shell, then choose the meat, then choose the type of Korean slaw that accompanies it. Other choices include a range of sauces and other additions. Good idea to let the employees surprise you with the best combinations.
Always busy. I was scared the first time and didn't get any cabbage or lettuce related stuff. Big mistake. The meat is rather tasteless. But with the cabbage it all came together in a magical taco sunrise.
We found this unique eatery and wanted to give it a try, and was really surprised by their quality and price. We tried all the varieties and enjoyed them, however I do think the fillings are too watery, making the tacos too soft. The toppings and salads were fresh and flavourful too. Overall it’s a really nice spot to have Asian style tacos!
Love the tacos! The slawa and toppings are top notch. Service fast and friendly.
Lovely experience at lunch. Fresh ingredients. Hot food. Delightful.
I ordered the fried chicken. It offered the right balance of flavor, heat and crispiness. The cole slaw added a cool complement. I will be going back.
