Lovely bread - this was my first time buying some bread, so they let me try some samples. Other pastries available, they seem to have a cheesecake theme. Sadly, their coffee machine was broken. But they had other bottled drinks at hand. Indoor and outdoor sitting - it seems ideal to get some computer work done.

Stumbled across this cozy shop in DC. The food was okay, but I mainly decided to come here for the peaceful environment and the large windows facing outside. I wouldn’t come here looking for stellar food or coffee, but more for a cozy place to hang out.

I tried to take a photo of the whole thing but it was too good. I've eaten almond croissants in London,Paris, Istanbul and they don't come close to this. I bought 2 when I should have bought all 3 today. They are so good. I once called 4 days in a row for the almond croissant. Please don't get rid of them. I even ate the paper by accident.

Absolutely delicious! Chicken salad sandwiches were very tasty. We also bought a couple loaves of bread that were very good as well. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. The prices were very reasonable as well. Would highly recommend!

The food is awesome. We get bread there every week, and the rosemary shortbread is fantastic. Their egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches are done well, including the salt and pepper they add. The eggs seem to be cooked on a stove rather than a microwave. The sweets are typically very good as well. I highly recommend this. Additionally, the wait staff is very friendly and helpful!

If your looking for a place to get something for breakfast. but do not want to wait in line like us. we found Spring Mill Bread Co. walking around looking. All the bread, and pastries looked great. I have gluten issues and need to not eat wheat. They have the best gluten free carrot cupcakes with cream cheese icing. Very moist and delicious.

I'm here every so often to beat the heat when waiting to go to work. Some mornings, there's a women working the front (light brown hair and glasses) who is super welcoming, excited, and provides awesome customer service. She also always gives me free samples. Other times I'm here and the service is less than cordial, more passive. It's mixed depending on the person. But the food is always pretty good and reasonably priced.

Love their bread, especially the 7 grain. So much flavor and a wonderful texture. Always enjoy their sandwiches, as well. Great pesto, and their turkey tastes excellent.

Had a sample of their apricot cinnamon bread and it was so tasty. All I thought was if I toasted this and just put some butter on this it would be heavenly. They have a large selection of breads, pastries and sweets. I opted for the cheesecake brownie $3.50 which weighed about a pound when he handed it to me and all I thought was OMG this is gonna be D-E-C-A-D-E-N-T. And yea baby it was. If I'm back in the area I will definitely pickup a loaf or two and pickup a few pastries while I'm in there.

So many decadent pastries to choose from! The Barracks Row location is cozy with a more limited menu and selection. The savory Mushroom Cheese Empanada/Turnover with grilled mushrooms stuffed inside a crispy cheddar cheese shell hit the spot! The Chocolate Twist was fun to try with rich chocolate baked into layers of dough. Will have to try the breads next time!

One of my favorite places for a snack and/or lunch! I always get a sandwich on honey whole wheat, and their turnovers are delightful. You can't go wrong with anything here. If you are into home made bread this is the place for you!

Late in posting, but just to say their king's cake is delicious, very moist and with a hint of lemon taste that I particularly like. I've also had other breads and muffins and all were tasty. Friendly staff.

Everything I have had is the best. Bread is best bread I have ever tasted. My new daily stop on way to work. Overall best bakery!

Ate here for lunch for the first time today and I must say I ended up going back for more a couple hours later. Great customer service far as the employees being friendly. The food was simple but SO delicious. It didn’t feel like I was eating a generic sandwich. Definitely recommend !!

Fantastic bread and pastries! My wife and I loved their apple streusel bread so much from a previous visit to DC, that we went out of our way to get it again on a 2nd trip. The cinnamon twirl bread is great too!

Amazing freshly-baked bread here, and you can get sandwiches for breakfast/lunch as well that do not disappoint. The only negative part of my visit was that they had 4 employees in the store, and when the customer ahead of me had a question that the cashier didn't know the answer to, she walked to the back and held a pow-wow with the other 3 employees to discuss it, while a huge line of additional customers formed behind me. It would have been trivial for even just one of them to come man the register and start processing other customers' orders while the others tried to resolve the initial request. This might not be a regular thing, but it was a bit silly. I'll definitely still go back assuming it was just a one-off.
