Smoked wings were really good. The decor of this place was really cool. Country vibes surrounded by city life. The service was excellent and they went beyond to ensure satisfaction. There is a great selection of fine drinks to choose from. The specials change randomly but they always have some interesting cuisine that is made to target local customers. It's a quaint small place, but kind of a big deal.
Go Eat Here! I was visiting DC for a trip and really wanted BBQ & came across this place. They have indoor and outdoor seating! My food was amazing. I would suggest the Kenny’s Small Family Meal which can be split among many people. The best thing is that there food is so tender and well seasoned! Let’s not forget the Carolina Sauce!!!! It’s to die for!!! Thank you for making this a great experience.
Stumbled upon this spot walking through the area and so glad we did! Brisket was amazing. Great bbq sauces and coleslaw too.
Very comfortable outdoor seating area, which was perfect for me and a few of my friends. The food was incredibly tasty! It was also served in a timely manner. We will be coming back again for sure. I highly recommend the brisket platter with onions rings!
Despite the heat and the social-distancing, our family had a very enjoyable time! The pork ribs and coleslaw combination is a must but they do have a wide variety of other sides. The service was phenomenal and we would definitely visit again!
Wonderful service (super kind staff), the Mac-and-cheese and the sweet yams were delicious! Plentiful outdoor seating. The ribs were just okay, which knocks this review down a star. They were overcooked and the meat was tough. The flavor was Smokey-ish, but could have used some more natural wood smoke flavor. Reasonable price for the portion! Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood.
The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. Especially, the grape vine planted on the terrace is beautiful. The lunch sitting on the patio is fantastic.
Kenny's is easily now one of my favorite joints in the city! It's a family owned and operated establishment, they put tons of thought and care into how they run their business. They have this spicy bbq sauce they got in from Texas that is just fantastic. I went with a buddy and we both had a platter of food that could've easily fed ten people haha ribs, pulled pork, fried fish, baked beans, mac and cheese, collard greens, cornbread, slaw, french fries, and onion rings. Literally everything was mouth watering delicious. Ribs fell off the bone, there pulled pork was tender and juicy, the fish was flavorful and had a nice crispy fried coating. The owner that we meet, Summer, is definitely one of those businesswoman who could be doing anything and would be killer successful at it bc she clearly has a vision for how she runs her business, and we're glad this place has her behind the helm. Their fried fish is second only to Oohhs and Aahhs, in my opinion, and their ribs rival DCity Smokehouse. I'll be coming back for sure, and it's great that they've made all the precautions for social distancing to safely enjoy the foodie experience. five stars!
This is a great place on Capitol Hill if you're looking for a solid barbecue. The ribs are by far the best item on the menu and the beans are very tasty.
Couldn't decide what I wanted so ordered a little of everything. Ribs are great but was bummed they were out of rib tips, decent greens and mac'n cheese, loved the fried trout, and great customer service. All in all a great BBQ spot right near H Street so I'm happy and can't wait to go back. 😀
Pork ribs were extremely tender. Potato salad and coleslaw were good too! Staff was really pleasant. Wish they delivered.
The food at Kenny's was good, but the outing was expensive. I had the brisket sandwich and a rib platter. With the included sides this was very filling for two people but no leftovers. Pros include very fast service, friendly staff and a nice patio to eat at. While the pork ribs were good and tasty, they were not spectacular. On par with any other restaurant or even home cooked. The brisket however, was wonderful and a much better value for the price. I would eat here again, but would stick with the more cost effective and higher quality sandwiches.
