Excellent value for the money:) moist juicy cheese burger, very crunchy hot fries, and drink (shake or soft drink) no strawberry so I just got a coke all for $12. Lunch time special. This is not the kind of meal you try to finish in one sitting especially if you are headed back to work. Eat half and save half for later. You'll be glad you did.
Great value for money! Having spent 5 days in DC, we found this place on our last day. We had the pancakes, blueberry muffin, chocolate shake and a cappuccino all for less than $20! The pancakes were freshly made and delicious as was the shake. The restaurant itself was a little strange as it used to be a buffet style but now it has 2 counters at the back where they will make food and coffee fresh. Would recommend a visit.
I've been coming here for years. While I miss having their buffet, pre-COVID, I think their grab-n-go Korean bowls are delicious and I'm super happy with the extended Korean food offering. Always delicious and staff are very friendly!
Post-Covid, they no longer have a salad bar or open buffet. Go to the back of the cafe to order food from the grill. Breakfast, sandwiches, & fries are great. We got cheeseburger and chicken tenders one day and the kids were happy. There is also a coffee area in the back.
This is really a grab-n-go place and bring back to your office (or hotel), but there are tables & chairs if you need a break and the weather is nice.
The food here is good. The restaurant itself is a little strange to navigate, I guess it used to be kind of a buffet-type restaurant but now it’s just a sandwich counter and a coffee counter. But the sandwiches were made with care and the coffee was tasty, so I certainly recommend! Just don’t expect a fancy experience.
Wow best breakfast sandwich I have had in a long time. I had a croissant with eggs and ham wife had a bagel ham and egg
I had the spinach and cheese omelet. It’s not seasoned you will have to add salt/pepper
Quiet as I ate alone among 80 chairs and many tables between breakfast and lunch. 10:45, 6/23/23
It’s one of those office cafes. The pictures make it seem like a standalone cafe. Good pictures but not as good in person. I got a burger and bottle of water. It was okay. My only complaint is that it is too hot if you’re eating in in the summer.
Their food is so good! One of the main reasons I love coming back into the office. Can't recommend their cheesesteaks and fried chicken sandwiches enough. Also very affordable for sandwiches, drinks, etc. Like the most affordable in the area....
I can’t speak of the prepared food since I just bought a beverage, but the staff was fantastic! They greeted me upon entrance, offered colder product than what I was picking up, and nicely provided me with the wifi password so I could study. As a DC college student, I am always looking for study spots with a nice atmosphere that also won’t break my bank. I will definitely be coming back.
Stopped by for a quick lunch before heading to the airport. They had a burger, fries & milkshake combo for about 13 bucks. The Oreo milkshake was delicious & the burger was just amazing.

The food is delicious and the sandwiches are huge. We’ve tried the crispy chicken sandwich and the grilled sandwich, couldn’t finish both. Delicious and well priced.
This place serves great breakfast.
and plenty. Also affordable
The food is very good and the price is really good as well. Excellent service!
I recently got to visit Cornerstone Cafe during a short trip to DC. I was amazed not only by the fair prices, but also the wonderful food. I had a toast sandwich as well as an americano, and couldn't imagine a better breakfast. The employees were all friendly as well!
I love 'hot bars' and this hidden gem on M Street, NW is an absolute joy. It is open for breakfast with fluffy eggs and standard breakfast fare. Lunch is where this place shines. The chef(s) have recently changed and an already outstanding menu just got better.
Where to begin . . . Items they have everyday, BROWN RICE (which no hot bar serves), juicy off the bone turkey (with and without gravy), jalapeno chicken nuggets (not too spicy, slight kick), a delicious kale salad, a white tuna salad without all the stuff others put in-just tuna and mayo, grilled chicken, and a wonderfully decadent stringy Mac and white Cheese.
So many items change over the course of the week. Some of my favorites are taco day (usually on Friday), very lean corned beef (usually on Wednesday), Chicken Parmesan (usually on Thursday), Salmon (usually on Friday), teriyaki chicken (again, Friday), and the list goes on and on. If you're looking for healthy salads, you have much to choose from as well as an assortment of pastas.
One of the standouts of this place is the customer service. Everyone is so nice and friendly and value your business. The people behind the sandwich bar are quick and will prepare your sandwich just the way you want it. The cooks are constantly stirring and refreshing the food so it is fresh and doesn't dry out. There is also a loyality program where you get your card stamped for every $6 you spend and after 9 stamps, you get $6 of your next meal.
If you work or are just in the area, try this cafe out.
