Loved your 'no-wife' and 'close your laptop' policy. Very inspirational for others cafes. And your coffee is great :-) Thanks ..
Better than a business district coffee place has any business being…! Same price range as the bigger chains, but much better coffee and preparation. I’ve always found the service very fun and friendly, too. I didn’t realize until a few visits in that there is also a seating area in the back. According to other reviews it has no wifi, but it looks like a nice place to read or meet someone. I’m grateful to have Filter near my office.

Highly highly recommend. Good coffee and lots of space to work. Friendly workers.
Great coffee shop to work remotely in. The coffee shop is attached to a public lobby that has outlets and wifi for you to work with. The coffee was good, they allow you to bring your own coffee cups but make sure to specify what size you’re ordering cause they charged me a large when my cup was only 12oz (that’s on me to specify though). Would recommend for anyone looking to cool off in a great space.
Filter has been a high quality independent coffee place in DC, close to many George Washington University buildings. It was renovated in the last half of 2021, but retained many of the great staff people. Quality coffee, chill atmosphere. It's just not a place to camp out and do work or stuff like that
Excellent French press coffee, friendly service, and beautiful lobby space in the adjoining building. They have a clean bathroom too.
Strong unlimited WiFi. Baristas are very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee and happy to give recommendations. Lots of seating and places to plug in. Delicious coffee and warm staff. 11/10.
This is a beautiful place with delicious coffee and feels like a secret because there are so many quiet places to read. I’d say that everyone should come but also I will not say that bc it’s a special secret little spot here in DC! A little haven of peace in a busy city. :)
This place is a good coffee shop. It has up stairs seating and downstairs standing room with bar tops and tables facing the street. There is no WiFi here, they encourage conversation. Upstairs is a dope rendition of DC in the future, a collaboration between artists and architects which is really cool. I'm not a coffee guy but the person I was with said the coffee is really good. My chai was alright.
This place makes my day every morning. They source great coffees and know what to do with them. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. The culture is accessible, but undeniably quality centric. It's not the experimental, multi-roaster, brew lab type place that I generally look for, but it is the dedicated, consistent, friendly, quality oriented place that I'm stoked to have right next to my office.
Ceramic cups for "dining in" notes a quick vaccination check when ordering-- all takeout orders do not.
There is no seating directly inside the coffee shop (there are standing tables) but around the corner inside the shared office building lobby there is seating.
The staff is sweet and efficient and the coffee has a unique roasted flavor which I would love to come back to savor.
I also tried a chai that was pleasant and light compared to other heavily creamed and sweetened chai drinks at places like Starbucks.
