This is an absolute amazing bar for whatever you kind of night you’re trying to have. If you’re looking for a great spot to hang with friends or coworkers this is where you should go! Their drinks and occasional Thursday tap takeovers with local breweries are so innovative and a breath of fresh air from other bars in the area. Huge fan of this bar, the workers, and overall ambience! I would recommend this to anyone from in or out of town.

Lovely atmosphere with beautiful edible rooftop plants (I didn’t actually try to eat any of them and I doubt it’s encouraged.) we were very comfortable here for an evening happy hour and enjoyed our cocktails, fries, and bar food. Service was a little understaffed but nice enough and we eventually got everything. It wasn’t overly crowded which we appreciated. We had a little trouble finding the bar - there’s a certain elevator you have to get in from the lobby.

My husband and I had a great time here for our 10 year wedding anniversary!! Food was great & so we're the people. I will say, we tried to go here the night before our anniversary too- it showed as open online but it was closed. Be sure to call the Hotel and confirm it is open. It closes at the slightest drizzle of rain or for special events.

Fantastic views and a decent amount of beer. While I was there I got a 1 liter octoberfest beer. Somewhat expansive but pretty average for a rooftop bar in DC. We also good some food there and the sliders were absolutely amazing!! Highly recommended. Overall great bar on top of a hotel with decent food, drinks, and views. It was crowded when we went but we were able to find a table

Beautiful views of DC and I would say top 1% of staff in DC. I can't recommend this place highly enough. As a bonus, CityBar has an outstanding bourbon selection.

Want a bar with great views. You got it. Pumping DJ. Hot and not a lot of shade so pick your times.

Nice chill bar. Bare minimum for food choices and drinks but wonderful place to relax and hangout.

Ran into this place after it was recommended by a friend as a "secret" rooftop bar without the POV or Eaton style crowds with a phenomenal cocktail list. Sold! The feel is vibrant, casual, and relaxing, with beautiful views of SW dc. I often stay at Hyatt places when I travel but by far City bar could be a standalone establishment. I'm in DC often and this place is for the cocktail connoisseur rivaling many hot spots in the city. I've been three times and have been able to order some very original drinks, seemingly the menu has something for everyone. Melon tinctures, whiskey beer combinations, and a personal fav the frose. They do serve 4 beers on draft. Happy hour is great and the snacks are noms. I've had the sliders, calamari, and the sweet potato fries (the real winner here). Admittedly, service can be touch and go, just based on the time of day. I hear there have been staffing changes as well since my earlier visits, but the bartenders have always made it right. Come early as seating may be limited. But there is seating for both small and large groups! Awesome vibes every visit :)

Lovely views of the DC skyline and sunset. Huge whiskey selection, and custom whiskey cocktails. 4 beer taps with happy hour drink/food specials. There aren't a lot of seats so come early or be prepared to stand.

Friendly staff and good drinks and oh right, an amazing space. The view is fantastic and the garden ambiance is worth a visit on its own. The drink options are a bit limited, and it's a small space, but worth your time.

Lovely spot for a drink after work in SW with fantastic views of the city and VA. Located on top of the Hayatt hotel. While the waterfront scene is opening up soon, I think this place will still have a lot to offer with it's reasonable happy hour drinks and food. This is an outdoor bar with clever cocktails, but when it gets busy don't expect much attention from the wait staff. Also, they've made a terrible design decision putting a 12 top table 4 feet from the bar, basically blocking access to the bar, and creating an unnecessary "elbow your neighbor" to get to the bar situation when the place is busy. All that said, I'm still interested in coming back to give it a 2nd chance. There are few places in SW to get good drinks in this area, so kudos to them for expanding the market.
