This is the best place to celebrate Oktoberfest. We only come here to enjoy the Oktoberfest menu and drinks for the past 4 years. The atmosphere is chill, friendly, and welcoming. The beers are amazing. The staff are cool and so chill. Our favorite food is the chicken Schnitzel. It’s just simply amazing and comforting. The chicken is so crispy, the pretzel bun so fresh, the ham and mayo make the whole sandwich a wonderful bite. Come here to spend a sweet afternoon! Highly recommend!
Such a fun, unique spot to have some drinks and dance! I love coming here with friends and heading up to the second floor as it gets later in the night. I love the decor, lights, and overall quirky vibe. Drink prices are also not bad.
This place is an institution. I could not name any other pub in DC with a better atmosphere. Beer selection is great our nachos were hitting the spot.
Only have been here at night after food is no longer served! But it's always been a fun time! DJ knows how to get the crowd going with the music and all around it's a safe environment!
Listen this bar has great people and good beer and better food than it has any right to, but the laziest DJs. For the love of God play some new music, sounds like a 2002 bar mitzvah in here.
Once a year they have this ‘pants-optional’ party that goes off. Recommended all other days too.
Good beer, good bar food at reasonable prices. Chill outside or go to the dance floor upstairs. What more could you want from a bar?
Great bar with good prices on drinks and food. Outdoor seating is plentiful.
This is the perfect example of a neighborhood bar. Genuine, unpretentious, without the typical $12 cocktails, and with a great food menu and solid beer choices, with the Bell's Two Hearted IPA on tap. I suggest the chicken tenders and... the grilled ham and cheese (in pic) . A place that you'll never forget. A truly must in Columbia Heights.
I live for their brunch mac and cheese pancakes. Pretty fun at night too just can get pretty packed.
Performed tonight at the stand up comedy night organized by Underground Comedy DC. Great spot, fantastic vibes. Don't take too long in the bathroom reading all of the amazing graffiti. Great beers on tap and wonderful staff. Get lost here and order a plate of fries.
Love this place it’s funky and it’s fun.
A time warp of things to see and hear. With great drinks, great prices on food and really good people serving it .
The Ballroom proved to be a choice spot for a quick drink and meal prior to sitting down and watching the worst bit of screenwriting ever in the Game of Thrones finale. Unlike Jon, I went to this beautiful summery setting with my dog. We sat and ate on the patio with other patrons taking part in the old traditions of long tables where everyone sits at the same table. I had a point of cider and an amazing vegetarian burrito with a Mac and cheese side. I required more spice in both my burrito and my GoT finale... Unfortunately, I could only affect one of the two. Luckily, hot sauce, and other few condiments are brought to the table when food is ordered. The Mac and cheese was phenomenal! It needed no spice, pepper, or salt. The finale could have done without leaving me so salty, but that's not in this amazing establishment's control. I wish the finale could have been a tenth as good as The Wonderland Ballroom was. I do hope to visit again sometime and enjoy more of the company I had a pleasure to keep for a short while.
Update: still dope.
Definitely come here if you are in the neighborhood. The service and the beers are great 😃
Favorite neighborhood bar. Servers and bartenders are always friendly and personable. The food is awesome too!!
I love love wonderland but why are there no longer prices on the darn drink menu?
It all feels icky and deceptive.
Always a nice, fun, laid back experience. Always a great mix of entertaining events, from dance night to comedy to theme nights. Great beer/drink selection, and great basic bar food. My favorite dive bar. Plenty of outdoor seating, and plenty of bicycle parking.
I’ve been here hundreds of times over the last 10+ years. Great place to hang, especial during Covid with their expanded outdoor seating. Not fancy, but a place you can bring your baby and dog.
Brunch is a personal favorite especially the egg skillets. Happy hour deals are solid (even if I miss the 25 cent tacos from 10 years ago!). The burgers are probably my favorite item on the regular menu. Fried pickles are probably overrated by try them once. Don’t worry, you’ll find your way back here.
