We love tiki bars, and came here on a friends recommendation. I’m so glad we took the time to head here. The drinks are so good and the happy hour specials include a lot of classics. I really enjoyed the pina coladas and the Captain Cody. The food was also VERY good but do know it’s about appetizer size. Our server was also really nice and attentive to our large party.
Archipelago is the only bar in the DMV that makes true tiki cocktails we've found so far.
We ran the gamut and ordered a ton of drinks and food. Pearl Diver, Banana Daiquiri, and Zombie were ALL drinks I would get again in a heartbeat. Truck Bed Funeral is good if you like mezcal, but was too smoky for my personal taste. (That's on me for ordering - they made it very well.) I love that the drinks were also served with the classic garnishes and in each of their own unique mugs. A lot of their merch is unavailable online, but you can pick some up in-person.
For the food? Szechuan spice was a lot more toned down in the Dan Dan noodles, wonton, + chicken, but those were still tasty. Nachos were really tall + very satisfying. I would skip out on the brussel sprouts since they were really over seasoned/salted. Hotdog bun was alright. Our fav plate was the eggplant. 😁🍆
TL;DR: if you're into tiki cocktails + have been to well-known places around the US, then this place will definitely scratch that itch for you. It will probably be a must-go place for drinks when we are in DC.
I am terribly sad it is closing down. Perhaps the only place where you could hear Don Ho in the background.
The happy hour drinks are serious, and you have until the 26th to enjoy them.
I'm hoping to get back for the chicken sliders before they are gone.

Great tiki bar, but their drinks are definitely on the sweeter side, even for a tiki bar. Service was a little spotty at first but fine in the end. Nice cozy patio. Very cool interior with lots of vintage tiki-style decor. Nice place to stop by, wouldn't necessarily spend the whole evening here or risk a tooth ache and heartburn, but just a great spot for sure.
Amazing gem in the heart of U street. The speciality cocktail options are concentrated in rum concoctions and are second to none in the city.
The best way to go is to order several dishes and share (depending on hunger and amount of ppl).
Absolutely order the Crab Dip and the Beef Nachos.
We love this place. It's a must !! Drinks and food are the best. Great atmosphere!
Awesome ambiance. If you are looking for the most authentic tiki experience in the DC area this is the place to go.
They have all the favorites, zombies, mai tais, painkillers, daquaris. Stephen was a great host for the evening, very cordial, took us down the tiki rabbit hole. Cannot stress enough how relaxing but engaging the evening was.
Can't wait to go back!
5/5 will be back soon...
I don’t ever leave reviews, but this place is the exception. Of all the bars I’ve been to in DC, this is my favorite (and that’s after just one visit). From the second I arrived to the moment I left, the amazingly chill and friendly staff made us feel right at home. The drinks are superb, with names as colorful and unique as the establishment that serves them - the ones we had were as delicious as one would expect from a bar owned and operated by seasoned bartenders.
I’ll be telling my friends about this place, and I will most certainly be back very soon.
A favorite neighborhood spot to have a great (and well garnished!) tiki drink on the patio. I love the Dan Dan noodles.
Our waiter was able to recommend delicious tiki drinks for us, along with good rums to try in cocktails. We will definitely visit this place next time we are in Washington DC.
Love this place so much. I happily order more then I initially thought i wanted because there was so much to choose and share. Very tasty drinks and food and the best staff!
We liked the drinks but there was no mention of coco lopez used in the Jungle Room Experience, which the bartender confirmed with us. If you have any nut or coconut allergies, definitely confirm with the bartender because this one wasn't marked on the menu. Still worth a taste if you prefer something like a Pina colada but different. If you like Jamaican funk in your tiki, the truck bed funeral hit the spot too. The mezcal was subtle despite being listed as #1 for ingredients; nonetheless a great drink for sure and well balanced.
We came here during the day on a Saturday that the Funk Padade was coming through. We were able to hang out, get incredible cocktails, and watch and listen to the parade. The service from Caleb on the patio was great, and I was pleased as punch throughout this afternoon. That may have been in part to the delicious and strong cocktails! Each one has a unique cup, garnishing, and is themed, and they are delicious. One warning, consuming a lot of them ends up being fairly sugary (natural sugars, not added sweeteners) and will get you way past tipsy. Great experience, I'll be back!
What a gem! This is one of the places we knew we had to try when we were in DC. We love tiki bars, and this one was on the list. We went in December for Sippin' Santa, and it was everything we expected! The drinks were incredible and the food was great as well! We will come back again!
This place is a lot of fun and comes packed with all the standard tiki favorites. The theming is on point, the drinks are suitably over-the-top, and there's tons of menu variety. The only weak spot is the food, which is overpriced for what it is. Overall, however, I definitely recommend it.
Cute tiki bar with a low-key vibe. Nachos are a huge serving. Drinks were great, the Mai Tai was quite strong but delicious.
Edit- have been back several times and every time I have enjoyed myself!
At first, this tiki bar looks a little run of the mill, with the usual decor and a standard menu with some goofy house specialty cocktails, but one look at their garnish skills and a peek at the fantastic rum collection behind the bar belies a serious streak. After you're done fooling with the regular menu, ask the bartender to see the other cocktail list, delineated by decade. This place is legit.
