This a great spot with all the donuts you could ever want!!! Did I mention they have coffee too!! My next doughnut will be their Breakfast Maple Dough Sandwich!! We really appreciated getting out of the cold and warming up with sticky donuts.
Loved the feel of the place, didn't mind the slight line.. jammin to 90's R&B. My barista was nice. She took her time with each order. I love the donut..thick but not heavy, good flavor selections as well. Will come back with the kiddos.

I am kind of a crazy person where donuts are involved and when Sugar Shack opened in D.C., I practically had to stop myself from jumping up and down in excitement. This location doesn't disappoint. Even though it was the ungodly hour of 6am, the young women working behind the counter were super cheerful and helpful while I spent far too long ogling the donuts. I chose a half dozen and grabbed a deliciously well-made Cafe Con Leche. I'm afraid that I cannot remember the exact flavors that I ordered--only that all were very yummy. I got a mixture of cake and yeast donuts. I managed to only eat one and the rest made it home where I surprised my husband with my treasure. Some complain that the donuts are expensive, but I find that the quality is great and don't mind paying a bit more than I would for standard donuts elsewhere. I try to limit my visits to "every so often" but it's hard to resist. My ONLY criticism of the location is that it's definitely not designed for you to sit and hang out--more seating would be nice. It's not an easy trek for me, but no matter how many trains and buses are involved in getting to Sugar Shack, the trip is always worth it.
You. Are. Not. Ready. These donuts right here are THE TRUTH. Ample-sized donuts that are big on flavor with a nice selection to choose from. Can't decide...you can't go wrong with the House Glaze. Thick and substantial. Enjoy the treats with a fresh made coffee or espresso drink.
Good stuff! The staff is friendly and the doughnuts are HUGE. Very playful decorations on the inside and the hip hop music added to the appeal. I will certainly go back and will recommend to friends who will be visiting in the future.
Prices were good.. for the vegan product. I'll be back.. found my new 🍩 vegan desert/ donut spot..

Fantastic donut shop in a convenient location. Plentiful donuts (vegan flavors as well) available, with great store hours that range from 6:30 to 1AM on Fridays and Saturdays. The donuts are larger than standard, and are quite fluffy. I always get the sprinkles option. Nice workers here.

But those donuts are amazing! I keep going back. Did I mention their donuts are excellent?
I wish they served a few more cream filled donuts but that is only a minor complaint.

Such a variety of donuts! They even have vegan donuts that are soft and fluffy at any time of day or night. The flavors change all the time. But just a simple glazed donut is scrumptious. Best DC donut so far. Oh and the staff- they were like little angels put on earth to make the world a better place. So much kindness and generosity. Get your donuts ya'll.
~ I bought half a dozen vegan donuts to take to work. My co-workers liked them a lot, they were very surprised they were vegan. They are that good!
Also, usually other donut places open late and/or close early on Sundays but here they open super early and close at a good time thats a plus in my book. And their donuts are bigger than regular size donuts, fluffly, sugary, oh just so yummy. They have a variety too. All around plus. Good job! ~

I have been a since a week after they opened. And have been an addict of these damn donuts !!!! The staff is so Amazing , and Awesome. I am the. Biggest kid in here first thing when they are open. My day at work doesn't flow right if I don't get a donut... I AM A FAN of the Shaw location. You must come and experience the Sugar Shack Donuts in SHAW!!!! What is Crazy, I have seen some people putting bad reviews on this location on Yelp. All I can say is those individuals must be miserable in their personal life. And should stop putting LIES on the Shaw Location. I am a NY'ER and the 1 thing we know are donuts!!!! And this place knocks the other competition out the box. If you love a melt in your mouth, and some of the donuts are VEGAN...This is the Never Never Land of Donuts !!!! I LOVE This PLACE !!!!
I love Sugar Shack! They've completely displaced Ted's Bulletin for me when it comes to getting my donut fix. I stop by a few times a month and have never been disappointed, except for when they sell out and have to close early lol. They have a variety of donuts, with some being more of a dessert item than others, but all of them are tasty. They also do limited edition/specialty donuts, which means that there is usually something new to try, depending on how often you go. The donuts are pricier than what you might be used to, but they are worth it, due to the size and overall deliciousness. The staff are also quite nice and polite. The only struggle you will have in this establishment is deciding on just one or two, instead of buying out the whole case. 😂 Awesome place!
Visited this place on a whim as a friend and I were looking to grab some coffee and chat after dinner and they were the only ones opened. While the name suggested that it might be a run of the mill donut and drip coffee place, we were pleasantly surprised with fresh Samoa donuts coming out the fryer at 8pm and custom coffee roasts. Unfortunately, the espresso machine was down and I couldn't sample my usual drinks but the attendant was kind enough to offer up some drip coffee on the house. An absolute gem of a find!
