This place is one of the hidden gems of door county. It is an adventure just to get over to Washington island, and it's so worth the trip. Home cooked food, fresh fish each day straight from the owners fishing tug, local bartenders and wait staff that are always happy to see you. They even have their own beer and line of spirits! How's that for buying local?!?

Great place and not just for fish! I hardly ever eat fish, but there is always some awesome stuff on the menu. The bread appears to be homemade, nice thick pieces that they've used on toast and grilled cheese. The mixed drinks are really good, I had a Moscow Mule last time that was outstanding. They also have several high end bourbons on the drink menu, I was impressed by that as well. The prices are very reasonable. They also had an old Nintendo system on the TV by the bar that kept my 3 little kids occupied while we waited for our food. This is my go-to place for breakfast and dinner.

The broiled whitefish and fried Lawyers are THE BEST!! Caught by owner and commercial fisherman Ken Koyen, then cooked to perfection by his son Hans. It is a must stop while on the Island!

A very warm cozy atmosphere, and staff that treat you like family! Or maybe even better in some cases :) LOL FOOD: fresh, delicious and prepared in a very interesting and appetizing way! This ain't your corner greasy spoon cafe folks! But make no mistake, you can arrive after a day on the boat or mowing your lawn and you'll be welcomed with open arms! "All the Best" to everyone! and THANK YOU for everything!!!

My favorite restaurant on Washington island. My wife and I ate here twice while staying on the island. This place was always open while some other restaurants close during the week. The staff is friendly. The food is great, large selection. We tried the fried walleye, firecracker shrimp and chicken salad. All of it tasted amazing. Food was cooked and brought out very quickly. There’s an area of seating with no windows which is nice for a warm summer day. Pool table and music. Family restaurant and enjoyable for a couple wanting a nice meal also. We will definitely eat here again when we visit Washington island again! Thanks for the hospitality and good food!

If you are looking for fresh delicious fish, this is the place on Washington Island to go. The last remaining local commercial fisherman brings in his fresh catch, and this is the best whitefish (and they have many ways they cook it for you) that my husband and I have ever had. It has a fun rustic, cabin/ local bar feel. We highly recommend the Parmesan crusted whitefish.

Firecracker chicken and parm fries were fabulous!!!!! We received warm service and crafty recommendations from Jeremiah and Hans. Larry at the bar was also a fun time. He smiled and poured drinks like a true Wisconsinite! I highly recommend this location for a delicious bite and a hearty island welcome.

The food was delicious. Not your typical bar food quality. The coleslaw was yummy, the chicken was juicy, the cheese curds were good and served w/ a very yummy homemade ranch. The place itself looks cool. There are games like darts, shuffleboard, pool table. Baseball game was on the TV. Bar tender was very friendly.

Whitefish caught in the morning by the only commercial fisherman left on Washington Island was my dinner last night. Bf had the parm fries. Both delicious.. served hot and very quick service. Bartender Larry is a lot of fun and mixes some signature drinks. Very unique, rustic atmosphere. We would definitely eat there again.

The best fish I've probably ever had! My boyfriend and I were on the Island for our 2 year anniversary. When we got up on Friday, we tried to go to a restaurant that google said was open but we go to the door and there was a sign that said it was closed. We wanted to try another restaurant that was on the pamphlet, but that was also closed. So we took a risk and went here, it was TOTALLY worth it. The bartender was so nice, and recommended the parmesan white fish that was freshly caught. Drinks were great, the ice cream cocktails were the best! We then came back for dinner the next day, and caught a glimpse of the Fish Boil, so fun to watch! This place is a must stop for sure if you are visiting the island.

Excellent food. Some of the best fish we've ever had! The lawyers are worth the drive! Even though they were extremely busy and seriously short staffed, our server was spectacular! Fun atmosphere, great menu!

This definitely seemed like the best option for lunch on the island. The fish sandwich I had was great, my families food was good too. I think the sides need some work but it was decent overall. @dietproof

Stopped here in August (2023) during our honeymoon in Door, and was greeted warmly by the owner's son. He mixed a few delicious cocktails, poured a coupla beers and talked with us about the island and history of the establishment. We were not hungry so we did not have any food - will do next time! Great place.

We have a home on the Island and my wife grew up here. So been to K.K. many times. Tonight we met a couple friends and sat at the bar to have a couple drinks and dinner. Rachel behind the bar recommended the Parmesan Crusted Whitefish and split it. Great call. The fillet was very large, plenty for two. The crust was very nice and the fish was perfectly done. Firm and moist and super flavorful. Green beans and potatoes in butter. Very good. And sitting in the open air bar even better. Always worth a visit if you get to Washington Island.

This place is amazing! I have dreams about the perfectly cooked whitefish (caught fresh daily), squeaky fresh cheese curds with homemade ranch, and green beans that could make a carnivore turn vegetarian. I recommend sitting at the outside bar and chatting with the witty bartenders. I will definitely travel the 5.5 hours to come back again and again and again.....

***The place to get fish!*** Had the white fish sandwich and it was impressive. Mr. Hans knows what he's doing in the kitchen! All the whitefish is fresh caught by the owner daily. And if he catches the lawyer you have to try it! Only place you can get fresh lake Michigan lawyer fish... or lawyer anywhere for that matter! And Mary behind the bar will greet you with a smile and a cold beverage. The hospitality and island history and charm is unlike any place else.

Kenny's classic restaurant and saloon is an iconic piece of Washington Island. Saturday night they had live karaoke presented by an islander. It was classic fun. Great time and definitely well worth the visit. If you haven't been to this place, you need to go

Our 2nd time this year. We went in July and came back in September. We loved the food but this time they only have walleyes. The service was good and fast. We will definitely come back since we would like to try the lawyer fish, never had it before. Both times they are not available

The main fish on the menu are. fish, walleye, and lawyer. The lawyer name, according to fishermen, is owed to the location of the fish’s heart, which is found very close to its rear end. Very friendly locally owned by the only commercial fisherman left on the island. The decor is more interesting than the menu. The bar is cozy with a wonderful bartender.

Only place on the island still serving food at 10:30pm. They offer a very small late night menu until 12am on Fridays, and I was thankful for real food!! We had chicken tenders and parmesan fries (4 tenders & a pile of fries for $13...not bad!). We sat at the outdoor bar. The rest of the place was closed up already. No problem becos it was really nice out and the live music was pretty good! Nice bartender and friendly crowd! Will definitely stop back for lunch after looking over their regular menu.

We’ve been here several time and it’s consistently excellent. Best restaurant on the island. I love the server who always brings our two year old an apple sauce as soon as they sit down.
