Price of admission was a little steep just to walk around the nearly but not fully bloomed flowers.
Vacation money is easier to spend but it was a little hard to swallow even living in the moment.
It was a fun experience the one time through but would have no desire to again.
The bakery completely won us over with the most delicious pastry treats we have had in a long time! The young lady behind the counter was super sweet and patient in a very overwhelming crowd of customers.
If you aren't into flowers - skip the admission to the field and spend the money you save on the most delicious pastries in the sweet shop!
This was our 1st trip to a lavender farm. It was a warm sunny day with lots of blooms and lots of folks taking photos. Really great gift shop - loved the chocolate macadamia cookie with lavender and cherries- it was to die for! Definitely worth a visit when you are on the island. Only thing lacking was a flush toilet.
Must stop if you are in the area during peak lavender season! Amazing to see and smell. They have great drinks as well. There is a $8 per adult cost but well worth it.
The shop is nice, my husband got me these wonderful earrings very cute. To go into the lavender farm there was $8 admission to enter to roam the fields, patio/bar was open, had massage, u pick lavender, etc for additional fee. I would come back and just sit around the lavender fields, very relaxing.
$8 to get in and a big enough area to explore and take beautiful photos and see many varieties of butterflies. Food and drink and gifts are very expensive but the lavender bar soap and pillow spray came home with me and I would recommend. The soap smells good even just in the wrapping.
Very pretty experience! We love lavender and have wanted to come for years! There are a few different feilds so it is nice and spread out! You can pick lavender bunches as well! It is expensive to pick the lavender but you cam dry it and keep it for years!
We have been here twice and both times were the end of August. Still plenty of lavender to take photos and the sunflowers were in full bloom. We enjoy walking the grounds and just enjoying the fields. There weren't many butterflies this time around, but we saw plenty of 🐝
We went even though the lavender wasn't in bloom. Lovely gift shop, some high end prices. Bought some nice cologne. Perfume scent was wonderful.
We take the Ferry over to Washington Island once a year. The wine slushies at the outside bar are really good.
It was a fun experience to visit Fragrant Isle. It was at the end of the season and most everything had been harvested.
When going to Washington Island you must plan to wait for the ferry. We had to wait 1.5 hours to get to the island. We took our vehicle. On the way back we waited close to an hour to return to the mainland.
The gift shop and little cafe had several sweet items and sandwiches. The macarons were good, fresh and flavorful. Lemon 🍋 Lavender macarons was especially good!
It's a beautiful place to visit. We went in early July and the lavender was blooming again, but not fully yet so you can't see the dark purple colors as seen in the ad photos. You do have to pay an entrance fee to see the garden. I believe it was $5 per person. Small children are free. There's not much to do except walk around, take lovely pictures, and sit in the seats they have scattered around the area. They do have a bar that serves drinks and some limited food items. You'll spend about about $12 for an alcoholic drink and $10 for a slushy drink for your kid. They also have a neat little shop full of lavendar products and some baked goodies.
It was a great time. Had to wait to get into the gift shop due to fire code safety. They had a good selection of items that were lavender scented. The bakery/cafe was nice, I had two delicious macaroons. Our group did not go into the actual field because it was pretty expensive to go in, but did enjoy the field just outside of the gift shop.
Overall a good experience and would definitely go again!
This was a wonderful experience! The lavender fields are so fragrant and beautiful! Love the store too! We had an ice cream there that was house made Door County cherry, and it was the best we've ever had! We of course bought some soaps and oils and a few other lavender goodies! They offer so much ! They have a lunch menu, and a bar facing the fields. Definitely recommend!
Very unique, like nothing we've ever seen. Grounds were very clean. Shop employees were helpful and friendly. Their shop included any lavender product you can possibly.imagine, as well as a dessert, lunch and drink counter. Out back was an area to purchase beverages to be enjoyed while over looking the lavender fields. $5 entrance fee to the fields, you were allowed to walk around all you wanted. It was beautiful and smelled lovely!
Most beautiful place and the ice cream was delicious. We didn't know their business hrs. We got there at 4:30pm and we were told every shop on the island closes at 5pm. The staff let us walked around and took pictures with our huge lavender and chocolate ice cream.
The Lavender Farm was nice to check out. Its great to check out how they make the lavender oil or also just get a drink from the bar and enjoy the time looking at the pretty fields.
Went on the last few days of July and all the lavender was in bloom! Not very fragrant until you rub the leaves. The U-pick lavender is a lot more fragrant but it is $12 per bundle. There is a cafe which is expensive and a gift shop which is insanely overpriced!
There is a $5 entry fee per adult.
My boyfriend and I took our first trip to Washington island and got a tour of fragrant isle. Loved hearing the back story of the farm. The lavender lemonade is great, good food, really loved the lavender vanilla ice cream too! We did the “u-pick” where you get to pick your own lavender to take home that will last a long time. Really enjoyed our time visiting. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Can’t wait to try my lavender simple syrup and other goodies at home!
