Nice airport, sometimes you can find cheap flights from here then from Chicago O'Hare.
Wait times are not long if you don't have baggage. Would recommend doing the check in online. Plenty of options for food/drinks/coffee ☕ .
For a larger airport it's pretty easy to get around. The united ticket counter was awesome. Of you checked in on their app, all you had to do was step up to an empty counter spot, scan your boarding pass and they put the tag on the bag and you were off for security.
Surprisingly nice airport. Sushi, fresh fruit market were a nice touch. After 10pm not much open. Bathrooms were clean and had doors almost to the floor, which was nice. Tram is useful for getting to the other end of the terminal quickly.
I love the airport because it's always a smooth navigation through the concourses, and gates. The floor and plan are friendly for long walks. Always a good exercise when not in a hurry to connect. You also have the Express Tram to your rescue when in a hurry. Then lots of shops, Lounges for luxury travelers.
Nice spacious clean, I love how it's easy and smooth to navigate. I had a 2 hours wait between two flights and I absolutely enjoyed the walk. Lots of stores and food.

Flew into Detroit because I had a layover flight from New York to go to Florida. I had to stop here and switch planes. It seems like its a more industrial themed airport.. well it is Detroit so makes sense. But anyway they have a shuttle train inside the terminals kind of like the skytrain at JFK which is interesting. And they also have these cool light up tunnels between each terminal. And the airport seemed fairly clean and not too overcrowded.
Really nice airport, lots of shops and restaurants for the layover. Multiple spots had live music (on a rainy Thursday afternoon, not just prime time!). Free fast Wi-Fi without annoying sign-ups or time limits. And the automated second-floor interior tram system is something to see (or ride on multiple times during a 4-hour layover...)
