Amazing authentic Chinese restaurant hidden right off the highway. We had a few vegetarian dishes and they were very very delicious! I highly recommend this place. The staff were very kind and they were very fast with service.
Last night for Mother’s Day we went to an Asian restaurant in Lebanon. They seated us in the side room. After half an hour no one had come to the table. Not even brought water. We left and went to GREAT TANG CHINESE RESTAURANT in West Chester, OH. BEST AUTHENTIC ASIAN FOOD EVER! They seated us right away, brought menus, plates, silverware, napkins, water right away. They took our order right when we were ready to order and the food came quickly. The food was fantastic, large servings, served family style, and tasted great! They also have more variety of foods to order than other Asian restaurants I have been to. The server was very attentive too. We will be going there from now on whenever possible.
We ordered steamed pork soup dumplings 5/5, steamed goose egg yolk dumplings (sweet) 5/5, egg roll 5/5 (very large), stir fried bean curd with mixed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, bamboo shoots, bok choy, etc. in a brown sauce 4.5/5, chicken lo mein with broccoli added 5/5. They brought a bowl of rice no extra charge. That was a surprise. The rice was even excellent 5/5. Also ordered hot tea (green). The brown sauce with the bean curd is a little bland. I would like it to be either sweet or spicy and you could probably order it that way but this was my 1st time there. But my son liked it very much. Since they brought us so much food we took home leftovers.
I am a big fan of soup dumplings and heard about the DimSum here. It did not disappoint at all. The place is hectic and was busy on a Sunday for lunch. The service was quick and the staff were polite and friendly.
Coming to the food, the menu was huge and had lot of items. But if you are up for an adventure try the Dan Dan Noodles (No 1103 - a bit spicy). It was a perfect dish.
I was super impressed with their Dimsum. We got 1. The pan fried turnip cake (4.5/5) 2 Shanghai Soup Dumplings (5/5) - very very good. 3. BBQ Pork Bun (5/5) 4. Stuffed sticky rice in lotus leaf (5/5) 5. Crispy Shrimp Roll (4.5/5) 6. Seafood Dumplings with XO sauce (4/5). Overall an unique experience if you are up for it. I would highly recommend this place.
Authentic Chinese food, perfect for family gatherings
If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant that serves authentic (i.e., non-Americanized) Chinese food in Greater Cincinnati, Great Tang should be on your to-visit list. Yes, they do have the usual Americanized Chinese dishes but they also serve a wide range of traditional Chinese dishes, primarily Szechuan and Zhejiang. There is ample seating, wait staff is attentive, and ample parking behind the restaurant.
For this visit, we ordered mapo tofu 麻婆豆腐,
sliced braised pork belly with preserved mustard cabbage 梅菜扣肉, cumin lamb 孜然羊肉, dried fried green beans 幹煸四季豆, and liushabao 流沙包 (lava bao). The mapo tofu was nicely balanced in flavor and texture with the silky tofu done just right. The pork belly was juicy and complemented the salted mustard cabbage nicely. The green beans was perfectly fried with "wok hei" while the cumin lamb was delicious with a nice balance in the spices and flavors. And we love the liushabao (lava bao) -- the salted duck yolk was creamy and a good balance of salty and sweet. Highly recommended!
Wasn't busy for Friday lunch. All the food was great, and the dim sum portions much larger than expected. We definitely ordered too much! But it was exciting to try so many good dishes. I didn't get enough photos. Not pictured: shumai and veg/pork fried dumplings- so good! Also the ribs in garlic and other bao buns. Great selection, even with some items unavailable already.
I had never tried Dim Sum until visiting this place last week. My friends have been trying to get us to go for over a year now. I’m glad we could finally make it happen.
This restaurant is spacious, comfortable and clean.
It’s definitely great to visit with a group so you can order a bunch of different things to share. Especially if, like me, you have no idea what to try.
Hubby’s favorite savory was the steamed bbq pork buns. They are quite sweet and bun is soft and doughy. His favorite sweet was the custard buns. On this particular day they were made to look like piggies - so cute!
My personal favorite was definitely the soup dumplings! I had no idea there would also be meat inside!! It was like a little meatball that was bursting with flavor!! I loved the texture of the dumpling - it was like a noodle in texture. Yum!
Between four adults, our meal was about $35 for our half including tip. But I know that if I were to return with my husband, he could easily have eaten at least two more plates. Lol. So it definitely depends on how full you want to feel when you leave.
A perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. The pedestrian exterior betrays the treasure of excellent food and a classy atmosphere on the inside. The cuisine is uniquely authentic. For carry out, I found it best to call-in an order even though it can be ordered online.
Upscale legitimate Chinese food! Ive been here three separate times. We've tried several things on the menu and haven't been disappointed. Food portions are great and the food is high quality! This isn't your generic hole in the wall Chinese. They have legitimate dishes, its a great place to explore and expand your palette. I will continue to eat here!
Big fan of dim sum! Great and fast service. Feels like home. Very authentic food. Has an American selection also. Dimsum is served till 3 then you can order regular dishes with rice. The portions are large. I went with my sister and a client before and I always have leftovers to take home! Friendly staff also. Would 100% recommend.
Always enjoy the dim sum on weekends. The Sichuan food is also good, taste just like the food in China. I will NOT recommend the fish, the fish is not fresh, and I will definitely not have fish next time. I minus one star because they automatically count me 18% tips, I am ok with automatic count me 15% tips, but not 18%. If I want to do 18%, I will sign it be myself.
The overall dining environment and service are satisfactory, there are also some private dining table in the back, make sure call for reservation if you want to use the private table.
They have both Americanized and authentic Chinese food. Their Americanized items are much lower quality than average, but their authentic stuff is why you go there. As such, their crab rangoon isn't very good, their Pad Thai isn't very good, their General Tso's isn't very good. But, if you order something authentic, it's usually great. My favorite menu item here is Chongqing Chicken.
Visited this place twice in a row, while we're in Dayton, Ohio. All I can say is, Food is perfect and drive from outlet to here is worth it. It's AUTHENTIC chinese food. Siomai is not in the menu but you can ask for it. Spare ribs too. I also enjoyed the sesame balls. Oh.. I just love all of it ans will keep coming back whenever we visit Dayton. Food price is resonable. White rice comes with a main dish (good for sharing). Their siomai comes in 4pcs. (Big ones) and the sesame balls comes in 3pcs. (Big too). Usually our bill for 2pax reaches around $50 with tip and tac included. Ambiance is good, the 2 visits that we made.. we were actually the only ones there foe lunch. I would recommend you visit the place, you'll not regret it.
Friendly staff, super fast service, good dimsum than some other Chinese restaurants we’ve been to. Not too impressed by their combination pad thai though. Sukhothai over at Marketplace Ln beats them by a mile but I suppose the Thais make better pad thais.
This restaurant is so good. I’m not from China but my feeling is you can find great authentic Chinese meals here. Crystal was our waitress and she was so kind. The service is very friendly. Right after we ate here we were involved in a bad accident when a lady ran a stop sign. That was terrifying and my car was totaled, but we are OK, and I am happy to report that our chicken lo mein carry out box was safely taken home from the crash.
Went for dine-in on a whim. We were initially unsure since the exterior is... interesting. But once inside, the environment was lovely, service was great, and food was delicious. We got the sesame chicken, the CHINESE mooshoo pork, and the steamed dumplings. Will definitely visit again for yummy Chinese food in a sit-down venue.
Another authentic Chinese restaurant that serves good dim sums and general Chinese foods! Beef chow fun is good!
Amazing food, and staff!! Thank you for my family EASTER MEAL $119 for 4 people to have a great meal. With so much delicious food. Worth every penny, and we will be back!
