Awesome reincarnation of the Three Little Pigs spot by Andrew Patten. The menu was short and sweet at this newest BYOB in our home town and oh so perfect. Baked oysters Spence are a must. Low Country Boil was fresh, fun and fantastic. Braised short ribs melted in my mouth. Loved the root veggie puree underneath. As if those dishes weren't enough (and they were ample) the citrus cheesecake and ice cream sandwich made us practically roll out of this charming spot onto High St. The patio out back couldn't have been more quaint. Service by Marilyn was top notch and we cannot wait to get back! Just go.

My mother, sister, and I were at Spence for Mother's Day. From the delicious toast appetizer of baba ganoush with broccoli rabe and Parmesan to our fabulous entrees (crab cakes, filet, and lobster ravioli with shrimp and scallops) to our mouth watering ice cream sandwich dessert, we enjoyed each bite and enjoyed the atmosphere!

We ordered the seafood ravioli and the crab cakes. Both were outstanding - possibly the best food in West Chester. The service was excellent. Will definitely be going back many times.

We visited on Saturday and sat outside on the patio. We called ahead to make sure there was something that could be offered to our two younger children. They were able to make grilled chicken breast and noodles (which were the most amazing buttered noodles ever)! Our kids loved it. We enjoyed an appetizer special of crab & avocado toast and duck spring rolls, both amazing! Then we had crab cakes and short ribs, again amazing! Gina was our server and was attentive and very knowledgeable about then menu. We loved the entire experience and will definitely be back! Thank you!

Spence hosted our rehearsal dinner on May 17, 2018. What a wonderful night! The venue was perfect for our party of 26. We had a private area sectioned off in the restaurant with access to the patio for our BYO cocktails. The passed appetizers were amazing ! The dinner was likewise superb:filet mignon, almond encrusted chicken and pasta with shrimp and scallops. The service was impeccable. Everyone loved the evening. Thanks Andrew and Gina and team for making the night so special !

From the amazing service to the fabulous food - we enjoyed every bit of our Spence experience this evening. The red snapper special was seared perfectly and the Halibut was outstanding. Everything was top notch and we look forward to dining here again. Nice work Andy, Blaze and the rest of the crew !

It's a little strange to have two of my favorite lunch spots from the mid-late 90's in the same place, but I'm really happy to have the Original Spence Cafe back. I was in love with their tarragon chicken salad, and was reliving happy memories getting to eat it once more. The space itself is bright and airy. Didn't get back to the garden area, but I'm sure that's lovely, too. Glad you're back, Spence Cafe! I look forward to eating many more tarragon chicken salad sandwiches!

Hands down one of my newest favorite restaurants. I’m still here eating as I’m leaving this review because I just had to. The food is beyond amazing. The staff is super friendly, and to be honest the best filet mignon I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection. Highly recommended!!

Very nice menu and ambiance is pleasant. Service was friendly but very slow. This is the norm these days so no penalty for that in my mind. Entrees are mostly in the high $30 to low $40 range. This is fine but at those prices I expect excellence. Food and service were very good but didn't quit match the price tag in my opinion. Only been once so may need to try again.

Went to Spence for restaurant week. The food was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, and I don't know what they put on their vegetables, but it left wanting more. We also got dessert, which was equally as good. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is chill and romantic dining.

First time visit. Food and Service was great. Came on whim, had the mussels and stripped bass specials. Cooked perfectly, just right portions. Will definitely be coming back.
