I'm from Pittsburgh and visited this area for the weekend on Army business. I choose the Golden Bear for dinner tonight because I wanted to experience the local life.
This place is all that you'd expect from a Western Pa neighborhood bar. Dart board, Yuengling, rock and roll on the jukebox. Home town but not intimidating. Zak the bartender was attentive and genuine, not pushy at all.
I had the Bear Burger. Delicious! Hoagie style burger cooked to perfection with sautéed onions, peppers and mushroom topped with provolone cheese. It also included a large side of fries that was more than I could finish.
My cholesterol would protest but I'd come back again.
Outstanding! We are good food snobs! We want friendly atmosphere! We want a server with personality plus! We found it! The Mecca of the ALL what we want when we dine out! Ashley - WHAT A GAL! Such great care of us- thought she was the owner! Excellent to all her customers! atmosphere - INVITING and welcoming! And the food- wings with BBQ were incredibly delicious and so meaty! Generous fries! We were just passing through heading East BUT are planning our trip back to make sure we have lunch there! It’s worth the rerouting!
That's right, there is only 1 pierogie left, that's because they are so good, I couldn't wait to take pics before I ate the others! A steal at like $3.95 for a appetizer plate! Delicious! Go check out the Golden Bear in downtown West Middlesex today!
Drinks were good price nice atmosphere. Absolutely gorgeous bartender 11/7 would definitely come again.
Great place, wonderful owners, bartenders and people who go there. Food is homemade, priced well and delicious!
You get treated like family by staff and patrons when coming in. Nice chill, easy, going environment. My favorite bar. Food is good too.

Its an old home town favorite.. Typical bar food. Prices are average. Love the wings. Its a nice place to sit and relax after a long day. Everyone is friendly including the staff.. I highly recommend this place..
