The place was packed on a Friday night but we only waited 10 minutes for a nice table by the window. Service was attentive and staff was very engaging and pleasant. Cocktail menu looked interesting but pricey. The homemade salad dressings were very good. We both had the Beer Can chicken -- it was tasty but undercooked . Ugh. Could not eat the leg or thigh at all. Had the summer squash -- nicely cooked and not overdone but pretty heavily peppered. Reasonable food prices with a nice selection so we will try it again -- and order something different.
We are so happy to have this restaurant in town. Only being open 3 weeks, they did well. StArted with Brussels sprout app which was AMAZING!!!!! We had the salmon dinner and brisket, both were delicious. The mashed potatoes were fabulous. Our service was not great, but the owner stopped by and spoke to us and she was extremely nice. I think everything will only improve from here, they have been open a super short time and will find a great rhythm.
We love it each time we come. They were out of a few things due to a shipping mishap or something but they still accommodated and were very gracious for our understanding. The service was great- our server was very polite and fast. Coffee and ice tea is delicious and fresh. We can't wait for the deck to be open! We'll be back a lot in the warm months.
OK, so this was my first time at the Lakes Edge. When you walk in you see a lot of corrugated still mixed with dark woods and clean walls. It was homey but very stylish and had a real flare of the Metropolitan. The menu is diverse as well as daring. Being a city boy from the East Coast this is a real treat in the Whitehall area.
The quality of the food was excellent. I had the roasted brussels sprouts to start and they were perfect! We also had the beer cheese dip with pretzel bread and it also was excellent! And then I had the pastrami sandwich with Swiss cheese and onion and a side of onion rings. The onion rings, flawless! They are big, well breaded, deep fried to perfection and delicious!!
Back to the pastrami sandwich. The pastrami is made in house and being from the East Coast where I grew up on pastrami and rye I have to admit that this was an excellent sandwich. My only complaint is they are stingy with the meet. For nine dollars there was maybe 2 ounces of meat on the sandwich… Maybe? I would rather pay $11 or $12 and have my socks knocked off by a meet packed sandwich then to walk away feeling like I was not offered the opportunity to pay top dollar for more pastrami that was cooked to perfection!
Being from Boston and having lived in a couple different countries and in many metropolitan cities I have eaten at some incredible restaurants, sandwich shops etc. In my experience the thing that separates an OK restaurant from a great restaurant is not the quality of the food, because great Quality food is great Quality food. Rather, the difference between an OK restaurant and a great restaurant is in the opulence, generosity and the love with which that quality food is presented and served. No one minds paying top dollar if you walk away saying "dang! That was good!"
I think this restaurant is on the brink of either becoming a great restaurant or an OK restaurant. If they lose the Midwestern stinginess and serve their food With more generosity they will become a great restaurant. If they do not they will linger for a while and then go away far too soon, because they chose to be overly conscience of what they think their customers will pay. This would be very sad because this restaurant is a breath of fresh air to the lake shore.
In short this restaurant should quit being so modest and charge what they need to to give us more of that yummy food in every bite! Their menu's dynamic, their food quality is excellent and they have enough style to attract the most discriminating. Time will tell.
Loved it. Had the fish and chips. Crunchy and tasty. My friend had prime rib sandwich and said it was delicious. Tiger sauce was yummy. Nice ambiance, good service and fair prices. Thumbs up.
We had the brisket and Dino rib. The Dino was outstanding. The brisket was good. Not sure if I liked the Carolina mustard sauce, will choose a diff sauce in future. Cocktails were good. Service very friendly with alot of hustle!
Great redesign, love the new layout. We had the classic burger and pretzel burger. Both we're good. Beer cheese made bun soggy. Added BBQ sauce to it. Homemade chips and fries we're good. Tourists, Check this place out!
Somewhat limited menu, I would rather have that than a larger menu that is not done well though. The food I had was good wish I would have had a bit more of the garlic aioli sauce on my sandwich though, what was there was almost non exhistant. Everything else was great. Would have been nice to have been able to sit out on the deck and enjoy the view but the rain didn't let us.
THE BEST BLACKBEAN BURGER I have ever had! If more vegetarian fair was offered like this, we would eat here nightly! The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is the pretzel and beer cheese appetizer we ordered had runny, less than cheesy beer cheese...that being said, the pretzels were perfection!
Not a bad place to eat
Just dont sit by the windows late afternoon no window shades
Accidentally found this place and so glad we did! Original menu offering new twists on old favorites. The place was immaculate and the wait staff was courteous and attentive. The food was delicious and we can't wait to go again.
