This charming historic building houses a cozy local bar with a decent food menu at reasonable prices. I love dining outside, and the deck overlooking the canal and Lock 12 was so peaceful with a great western view, offering potential sunsets over the mountains.
Margarita was good. Burger, grass fed, was very good. Fish and chips: fish a bit dry, and style of fries not crisp the way I prefer, but quality ingredients. Spinach salad very good. The place appeared clean and was decorated tastefully. The owner was friendly. Wait staff pleasant but possibly inexperienced.
Call first to be sure that its open, as it seems to be seasonal and erratic with days of operation. I would like to see this business succeed, as there are precious few restaurants in the area.
I recommend you give it a try!
We have been several times now. The food has been consistently good. The quality of the burger is very good. Each time it has been cooked as ordered. We love our French fries extra crispy. It was explained that due to the fresh cut that this cooking process would take a long time for our dinner. We waited and I am extremely glad that we did! The meatballs are clearly homemade with lots of fresh herbs and spices. The special on one of our visits was a brisket sandwich the brisket was tender and very flavorful, the homemade BBQ sauce had just enough heat and the coleslaw provided a cool creamy finish to the heat. The pecan pie is an individual tart size. The filling is very rich, buttery and sweet. Just what homemade pecan pie should be. Being able to eat outside and watch the sunset has been our choice for dining so far. The dining room looks very intimate while well lit. The bar area is open and reminds of a speakeasy environment. Definitely worth the trip to check it out.
Delicious food and well-made cocktails. I had a gin and tonic (three gin choices, despite the small size of the place) and a BBQ brisket sandwich. Yum! Home made BBQ sauce was excellent!
Had the fish and chips, very good. Home made fries, tarter sauce was great, nothing out of a can or jar. Looking forward to their full dining room menu in another week. Sketty and meatballs looked good also. I will be back!

great atmosphere. owner is very kind and easy to chat with. really love the location right on the water, and the food is amazing. had the local grass fed beef burgers, they were amazing. seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. will definitely stop back in on our way through whitehall. thank you
Fantastic food! Pork wings are amazing, extremely friendly staff and an incredible chef!!!
My wife and I really enjoy Sasquatch Saloon. We've been going once or twice a week since they opened last month. Rich, Chezzie, Margot and Roger are great hosts who serve up an ice cold draft (IPA my favorite) or glass of wine, assortment of delicious appetizers and great burgers! We especially love the outdoor deck that overlooks the canal with views of historic Whitehall buildings. At last, a place for us retired folks to sit, chat and enjoy the "fruits" of the Squatch!
Great food!! And the service was fantastic! Go check this place out!
Very nice dinner, food was delicious and service was wonderful. Such a gem along the canal. Staff was Very welcoming. We certainly will be back
Wonderful service and excellent food at reasonable price. Will keep comin back
Inconspicuously and ridiculously fantastic. Right in the heart of town - this should not be kept secret! If your nearby during open hours, ya got to stop in for some craft brew and fully awesome dishes - the sasquatch fingers are a strongly recommended favorite!
wOw!
Dining outside on the deck while watching the sunset was great. The burger was cooked just as ordered. We requested the fries extra crispy which was exactly as they were served. Pecan pie for dessert was as sweet as you would expect. The atmosphere reminded me of an old time speak easy where you will soon know everyone's name. Looking forward to becoming a regular.
We had a great dinner and drinks. Friendly staff. We sat inside, but they do have tables on the deck over looking the river. It's an older building with a lot of history. Gives it character! I guess it used to be called the Liberty from yesteryear. We sat in the bar room area, but there was another dining room with white table clothes if you wanted a more elegant setup. The meals were good. Dinners ran from $15-$25 and Burgers and Sandwiches were in the $8-$12 range. A few of us had the Fish Fry and loved it. One had the Pork Chop dinner and said it was great. I tried the Brisket and it was very good. The fries with the fish were excellent too. The bartender made the kids a homemade lemonade with some other juices added. They thought that was pretty cool. They have some local craft beer on draught. I had a Capt'n and Coke and no complaints... Sorry I didn't think to take a picture.
Great ambiance outside seating over water. Excellent service. Friendly staff. And food was delicious. Would highly recommend. Not many eateries on the water.
Owner/ Cook came out frequently to see if everything was okay. Would definitely come back.
We stopped in for a bite and were not disappointed! That crab cakes, Bigfoot balls and bread pudding were delicious! Also, the staff was really fun and friendly.
Crab cakes and bigfoot balls for dinner with a nice ipa on draught. Good way absolutely amazing! The for dessert, probably the best bread pudding I've had in my life!
