I had the Beef Bui Go Kee , Mandu and Kimchi platter. The beef bui go kee was excellent with a taste that grew on you with each bite. The mandu korean egg rolls were so fresh. The kimchi had three kinds on one platter and they were all great! It’s just a tiny mom and pop place you’d never stop at without such high ratings. I’ll go again and again. Authentic.
Been a few years since I have been in this part of town at meal time and decided to stop in with my wife. I had the Beef Bul Go Gee and she had a combination fried rice. I ordered mine mild and found it had very good flavor and the quantity was a reasonable size to fill me up without being stuffed. My wife liked the fried rice as well. The sauces they brought to the table that we tried on the rice were different than the typical Asian buffet and good. Several other people that came in ordered Bi Bim so it seemed to be popular and I will probably check that out on a future visit staff was friendly and service speed was reasonable. It is a small building but was good food.
Wonderful dinner. Highly recommend this little homey restaurant. Photos line the walls of other satisfied diners. Had the bul go kee at it was great. Don't hesitate ordering the kimchi. Yum
If I could rate this place higher than a 5.0 I would. It's so good it's borderline euphoric. Most places have one or two signature dishes that they do well, this place does it all well. My favorites are Bul Go Gee, Bi Bim rice served in a hot stone bowl, kimchee fried rice and kimchee soup. The kimchee they bring before the meal is divine as well. I could probably eat my body weight in it if given the chance. The husband and wife team that run this tiny place are probably the happiest most eager to please human beings you'll ever meet. The husband cooks and the wife runs the front end for the most part. They've been running this place for at least 25 years that I know of and the sad thing is they're looking to retire in the next three years. The day they close this place will be a sad one. There are other Korean places in town that I've tried but this place is significantly better than all of them combined. You don't just get to eat really authentic Korean food here, you get to spend time with this wonderful Korean couple as well and learn about the culture. I know quite a few Korean greetings and phrases from eating here over the years. And lastly, get your picture taken. The wife loves taking pictures of all the customers and displaying them on the wall.
Love this place!. This place is my go-to! Their Beef Bul Go Ki is top notch and the owners are the sweetest, most hardworking people you'll ever meet. I just love this place. My Twin sister and I go there regularly.
Great price for delcious Korean food! I go there every time I am in town! They have really good pork bul go gi, stir squid, bi bim bap, Kim chi fried rice, and more! Get it spicy! Yong and Kye have been there 20 years this Winter! Two very friendly and hard workers!
Best Korean. This is the littlest place with the most character. pictures shower the walls, the seats match the ambiance, and the food ties it all together. I ordered Kim Chi with my meal instead of an eggroll and was astonished to see the portion they gave me. Kim Chi is not for the first time eater, i would go with the Mandu (which is the best in town). The bulgogi beef has a flavor unlike other korean restaurant's bulgogi beef, and it is the best on all levels. i would recommend this to everyone, if you like asian food you will love this place. If you love sauerkraut then you will love Kim Chi, its sauerkraut that is made with other vegetable instead of just cabbage.
Manna Wok a Cozy Spot. Bi Bim Bap is signature. Sliced steak and veggies served in a sizzling hot stone bowl with a eazyover egg and hot sauce. You stir it all together with your chopsticks and go to town! Yummolicious!
A Wichita Jewel. Manna Wok provides traditional Korean & Asian fare in a small, family-friendly atmosphere. Prices are reasonable & taste is undeniably good. This is the restaurant visiting family are treated to when in town. The restaurant provides 2 rolls of kimbap for the price most other places offer only one. The portion size for all dishes is quite substantial. The staff is extremely friendly & helpful. Manna Wok is this reviewer's favorite restaurant of ANY kind in the Wichita area.
Delicious!. I had never been to Manna Wok, and on the recommendation of two friends, I stopped by to get an order to go. The building isn't very big at all, but diners were eating inside. It felt very homey. I had been told they have great beef bulgogi and it certainly WAS delicious! I had a huge serving--enough for leftovers for the next day. I also ordered mandu (vegetable fried dumplings) and they were also delicious and served w/traditional sweet & sour sauce. The kimchi was just spicy enough, without bursting into flame in your mouth. I would definitely dine here again.
Excellent food.. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who likes authentic Korean food... I will frequent this establishment more often now after trying their food.
Not what it seems. I first tried this place years ago based on the recommendation of a friend and mentor of mine. I totally would not have gone in otherwise, because of the location. It's in a seedy side of town as it is, and the building itself isn't much better.
I can't possibly be paying for overhead when I eat here.
I ordered the lemon chicken and it was far too over-battered. But I tried the place again recently and tried some legitimately Korean food (some kind of chicken and some Kim Chee) and it totally reversed my original opinion.
The quality of the food is totally not what you would expect from this building or that part of town.
Don't miss out on this jem. This is truly one of the best places to eat in Wichita. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere is unique and charming. You just can't beat a restaurant where your food is prepared by the actual owners who have been in the kitchen there practically every day for sixteen years. It is very apparent that they love and take pride in what they do, and that makes the quality that much better. If you haven't tried Manna Wok yet, do it!
My Opinion. I love this place. You can tell the owners care about their customers because they use their customer's photos as wall paper. Extremely inexpensive. Will be back when I can.
Hands down, the very best Korean food in the US! I have eaten at the top Korean places in Atlanta, LA, Chicago, Seattle... This place tops them all. Homestyle, quality, Korean diner... Real people, real food, real good!
The stone bowl bi bim rice (hot) is very tasty with the special sauce

...Their beef bulgogi was the perfect blend of spicy and not too spicy, full of flavor, and just the right amount to fill me up. Needless to say, I had a happy plate at the end of lunch.
Manna Wok is one of our absolute favorites.
