Fishbites never disappoints and has become a Wilmington staple for Seafood. Literally one of the most consistent restaurants here in quality, value and overall service. They have my vote for the best non gourmet Seafood in Wilmington along with Cape Fear Seafood Company both having their own unique style. Had a huge portion of perfectly fried/battered Flounder in their “basket” portion with their always awesome zucchini fries. If you dig clam strips theirs are the best I’ve ever had as well.

First time eating here today, an early Father’s Day treat for my Dad...What a wonderful meal! The fried flounder and shrimp were perfect, moist and tender with crisp and flavorful batter. The coleslaw was fresh and tangy, zucchini fries tasty and not overdone. We had an oyster appetizer stuffed with onion, bacon, cheese and hot sauce that we all loved! Too full for dessert but the offerings looked scrumptious! Will definitely be back!

When we come into town we must come to Fish Bites. The fresh creations of seafood and desserts is what keeps us coming back. Flavors abound and we know that we are getting the freshness and quality as well. Seriously, we always have great meals here and we have high flavor standards! You must try the Clam Chowder, fish n chips, fresh blackened tacos and Bananas Foster Cheesecake.

This is a wonderful restaurant always fresh, good portions and friendly staff and owner. We always make this our go to place. We are never disappointed. Can’t wait to come back. We came on Lobster Thursday special night. The zucchini fries are always good. Can’t wait to try Oyster Rockefeller Stew. Everything my family has eaten has been excellent.

We went there today for a belated birthday lunch for me. Went for the whole lobster. It was cooked to perfection!! I like to dip in melted butter. They had it but was not hot! We used to serve lobster and we had little ramekins for butter sitting in a stand with a heat source. Also the server was excellent. I enjoyed it but the cold butter was not great!

Worth coming for the “Shrimp Bomb” appetizer alone but everything we’ve ever eaten there is very tasty. The seafood dishes are exceptional. The Ribeye Steak and chicken dishes are delicious too. Oh yea, and desserts, they never disappoint!

The food here was amazing, perfectly battered and fried oysters and soft but slightly crunchy crab cakes. Their clam chowder was a bit more like a seafood soup than a chowder in thickness, but it more than made up for it in flavor. It was over all delicious and I would go back again.

This past weekend (Aug. 27th) I visited Fish Bites and their fried Shrimp became my new favorite in the area. It is clearly fresh and cooked perfect. The batter is light and they offer old bay or cajun seasoning to be sprinkled on after it is fried. The french fries are delicious. If you want really great fried shrimp this is your place. They have a lot of other menu items that I look forward to trying. This is a must try if you are visiting or live in the area.

When you read others reviews and they say that Fish Bites has the best seafood in Wilmington, they are so right. Food is cooked perfectly. The fried fish bites were lightly breaded, not over fried. Salmon cooked to melt in your mouth. Parmesan toasted flounder crisp, yummy. Fish bites is casual, local neighborhood feel. In an older strip mall. Just drop in for a drink and bite to eat feel to the place

One of the best seafood restaurants in town! The lobster bisque is outstanding and I can confirm that you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! It can get busy, so be prepared for a little wait if it's dinner time.

Excellent restaurant for the overall taste and value that we have experienced in the Wilmington area! Nice, local seafood vibe on the inside but we were blown away by the quality of the fresh fish. It was perfectly cooked and accompanied with some creamy coleslaw and lightly fried zucchini sticks! Dessert is not pictured because we brought home a scrumptious key lime parfait! A local baker does all their desserts!! The waiter was very friendly and prompt too!

Update: taking away a star from my original review. On a return visit, we checked in online and arrived at the time our check-in told us to...but the restaurant disregarded this. They told me we'd be the next party seated, but 30 mins and many seated parties later, we were finally seated. I don't have a problem with waiting, but I do have a problem with using technology incorrectly and then lying about it. The food that visit was less tasty as well. We haven't been back since. - Original review: If you're looking for a restaurant, raw bar, and seafood market all in one place, this is it! Fish bites is a relatively small space (so be prepared to wait or join the online waitlist), but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in quality of food and service. They have a variety of seafood options in just about every preparation, and everybody gets a basket of corn muffins when seated. Everything was great, and I can't wait to go back!

Bisque was amazing along with BLT sandwich. Children’s meals were plentiful. Coconut crème cake and chocolate cake were dense and moist.

The food was amazing. Tried the shrimp bombs, clam chowder, and crab cake. Next time, I need to just order a gallon of the clam chowder. Best I have ever eaten. The service was great. Our server was so friendly and attentive. Will be back!

Despite the odd location, this is the best seafood I’ve had ever since I’ve been in this country. The fried fish and shrimp were tasty and flavorful, when most restaurants’ fried seafood is bland. We were a party of 8, everyone’s picky with their and everyone loved every dish and sides we got. This is my favorite seafood restaurant from now on, and I didn’t have one before. Shout out to Amanda, she was amazing with us!

Fantastic! We started with the shrimp bombs and they were. I wondered why she waited to take our food order and I knew after we ate the appetizer, so we knew how much room we had left. I got the 2 fried and two sides for $22, needless to say I could not eat it all. The batter is light so it doesn't overtake the seafood the oil was fresh. The seasoned fries did not taste like fish like some places. The portions exceeded my expectations. This is a true family owned fish house. Our service was great. I was impressed when I saw a table washing cloth hit the floor that it was quickly taken to the back a a new one came out, might seem little to some but means a lot to me. I did not see young people standing around in between service and pull their phones out which means management is great and the servers care. If you are leaving Kure Beach or Carolina Beach you don't need to go far to get to this one.

This place is phenomenal! Don't hesitate because it is behind a gas station, this place is amazing. The seafood was absolutely delicious and our server behind the bar was so friendly and helpful. For appetizer we had the oyster bombs, which were excellent, and for entrees I had the stuffed flounder and my boyfriend had the choose 2 seafood platter with fried shrimp and oysters. All tasted amazing, highly recommend this place.

Absolutely amazing food and service. Our waitress Carla recommended the scallop and shrimp scampi and it did not disappoint! The stuffed shrimp were delicious as well. My husband ordered the maple salmon and he really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Great service good food. The corn bread that they brought to the table stole the whole show, it was moist, sweet and had actual bits of corn in it. I got the seared tuna but it lacked the tuna flavor I was craving. The lobster bisque had a delicious flavor but I’m not sure how I felt about the grainy texture. My friend had the salmon pesto sandwich and spinach salad and thoroughly enjoyed the 2. Thank you Kate for such great service, and guidance on what to get and being so knowledgeable about tap beers and the menu!

Intimate dining, with patio dining available. Typical Nautical decor, but the food was Delicious! Fried calamari with the tentacles, "Shrimp bombs", and the Fisherman's stew was Divine! Waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. Definitely worth my drive! (60+ miles).

We had not eaten at Fish Bites in a couple of years. We wanted to make sure the meal for the evening was excellent so we did Fish Bites. Did not disappoint. We were quickly seated and the server was attentive and pleasant. The scallops were the best I have ever eaten. The broiled shrimp were perfect and the Thai chili sauce was great. The chef paid attention to every detail. Probably going back Friday night. Have never had anything but a great experience there.
