I love Mission BBQ! Everything about it is great! I had the Smoked Prime Rib Black Plate Special with fries and a sweet tea. Goodness gracious, it was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and generous portion. The fries about knocked my socks off, wiped in the juices from the perfect prime rib, WOW!! The staff are superb, super friendly and helpful. Everything Mission BBQ sells is absolutely delicious!
This was my first time at Mission BBQ anywhere. I love the concept of supporting our Military and First Responders. The brisket was delicious as well as the green beans and cheesy potatoes. Last but definitely not least was Loretta Lynn, the waitress/server/table attendant. I do not know what her title is, but she was hustling around cleaning tables and speaking with customers. She has such an infectious smile and attitude. Thank you fir such a pleasant lunch experience. I will be back.
My family and I went to Missions in Wilmington NC and as we were waiting for our order to come out a group of men came in and the lady making the plates offered them some BBQ to taste, by passed my family as we were standing right in front of her, my mother became upset, but then God stepped in and Loretta our table attendant came over not knowing what had occurred and made the day all better. She has a wonderful spirit and kindness that will reach in a grab your heart. Loretta you are the best!!!!!

Cannot rave enough about this place that had me salivating in the parking lot. Staff has a way of making you feel amazing whether a vet or merely a maverick. Super friendly and polite. Brontosaurus sized portions, catered to every need and wish -including a request from someone in my party for the “burnt end brisket”. Food is delicious and it has a special place in my heart for honoring veterans and those in active duty. I only wish I could eat here more often
Went there for the first time Veterans Day 11-11-23 for the free barbeque sandwich. Nice size portion of delicious pork on sandwich. Good coleslaw and sauce. Great atmosphere. Friendly employees. I will be returning.
I love this place and will definitely be back. Everything on the walls honors the military (all branches) and the police/first responders of Wilmington, past and present! (decor, plaques, photos, veteran metals, Wilmington Police badges and jackets, old photos of the USS ship on Cape Fear River and old vintage pics of the original service members, etc). Such a cool atmosphere. Really large/deep wooden booths to sit in which I love. Tables and chairs options as well. Will definitely be back asap!!! We were also greeted really warmly, given a very thorough understanding of how to order (so much to choose from), and I was told they're opening a Mission BBQ in Vegas which is where we live, so I'm excited about that. Go to Mission BBQ -you will not be disappointed!!
Me and my parents went there during our beach trip it was so good the smoked turkey was so good also the coleslaw was pretty good same with the macaroni and cheese pretty good and let me not forget about the cornbread oh my lord that was so good I would love to see if they could make a vegetarian cornbread that would be amazing to add on the menu.
We searched “BBQ” in Wilmington on our first visit to NC, and this place did not disappoint! Trust the reviews. Staff are friendly, food was terrific, in a clean and family-friendly place. Standouts: Yard bird chicken, baby back ribs, Mac & cheese, cold slaw (yeah they spell it like that). Terrific stuff.
Awesome BBQ and sides. Veteran owned, played the national Anthem during lunch, everyone stood and everyone singing along. Honored the large amount of Navy presence on site. Awesome to see the patriotism. "Go Navy"
Loved this place was recommended by a local so we went and gave it a try. It was delicious. The collard greens are amazing and the Mac and cheese is to die for. I could have made a meal off of just those items. The pulled pork BBQ was also very good. They have a wide selection of BBQ sauces.
My husband loved the brisket and the collard greens and baked beans. The sauces were great, especially the tupelo and the smoky mountain! The pulled pork was good, but to be honest u wasn't impressed. I have had better in N.Y.. The staff is nice and helpful..
The best bar-b-que I have had in a long while. They have several sauces to choose from. I liked Smokey Mountain. Prices are very reasonable. All of the staff was very friendly. I love they way they celebrate our military, police officers, and firemen. Great place to eat.
This is very good place to go and eat some BBQ meat. They do an amazing job cooking it and preparing it. It is a must have and must try. Also, the staff is very nice and easy going.
They have a veteran type environment. I look forward to going there again
I just wanted to commend you on the three young ladies who worked the catering event at the Old Home Farmstead on October 22. From their cheerful smiles, commitment to friendly and polite service, the beautiful decor to complement our venue and their willingness to work hard--we couldn't have asked for a better group to with which to work! The food was delicious, the three young ladies were polite and professional, they bussed the tables, helped rinse and pack the dishes, left neatly packed leftovers and we didn't have to worry about anything. It was a wonderful group and I will definitely recommend your restaurant to others!!
Loretta was the most amazing, energetic employee! Thank you for making our first time in so enjoyable! We will definitely be back!
