Excellent service and very friendly staff, we had a great experience our chef was entertaining and the amount of food is enormous. My only gripe was our wait time but with 7 of us any restaurant would have made us wait also. A+ dining experience would return again
Excellent experience. Okami doesn't look like much from the outside but the food & service were excellent. Hibachi portions were very generous and our group took home several boxes of leftovers. Flawed Servant
Can't Wait to Try More Sushi!. Lunch on a Sunday with 3 others in my group. The initial servers (one was a trainee) were warm and welcoming and made sure we knew about the half-price sushi specials. Our hibachi chef was a very nice young man and new to Okami, but a bit reserved and somewhat hard to hear. He didn't have the enthusiasm that the other two hibachi chefs had, but, to be fair, our table really lacked the enthusiasm that the other tables exhibited. I found myself watching the other two chefs as ours was preparing our meal - there was SO much more going on at those tables!
I cannot complain about the food though - it was delicious! And what a bargain: filet mignon, salmon-avocado sushi (8 pieces), and iced tea for $19. Probably the same as Hiro's, but that place is nowhere near me. I will be back, especially to try more of the sushi choices.

Okami is an excellent restaurant for Sushi, they have a great happy hour sushi special where the rolls are half off. Our waiter Jason provided excellent service and we liked it so much we went back two nights in a row!!!
This Kanki style Japanese steakhouse is awesome! Reasonable pricing and great drink specials everyday!
Everything about this place makes it worth coming back to. Top sushi, cheap beers, decent appetizers and a classy, cozy atmosphere. With the specials they have, this is worth becoming a weekly eat spot in my book. I mean is it even possible to get sick of sushi?! (Hint: FUCK NOPE) It makes me sad that everytime I drive by the Jap Barn there are fewer than 10 cars in the lot. Come on people, SAVE THE OKAMI. We should do away with PETA, and start Save The Okami, so I’m giving this place a rating of -1 PETA.

We kept passing by this place everytime we visit Wilmington. We were finally able to try it! We only did the buffet so this rating is only for the buffet not the hibachi. Anyway, we were there before the opening and it can get pretty busy real quickly! Luckily, we were able to sit after waiting in line for few minutes. Our server was very patient with us while we take our time to order. My husband loves yum yum sauce with his sushi and holy mackerel, we never expected a soup of yum yum sauce which is great! The sushi portions are so big, I suggest you order it slowly as the servers isn’t he restaurant are pretty attentive with your needs! We mostly ordered the tempura crunchy stuff in the menu and the crunchiness didn’t disappoint. It was a lot though but we were able to finish everything. I wish the age tofu was already dipped in a sauce since it was pretty big me trying to dip it in the sauce. Anyhow, we enjoyed our dinner. We would definitely come back to try out their hibachi someday!
We love coming here for all you can eat. Best value and you have so many options. Some taste a bit funky but I love to try new ones. The atmosphere is nothing special but it gets packed on a daily basis. We also like the hibachi; how fun it is depends on the chef you get. Some are super fun and enthusiastic others not so much. No matter the chef it tastes great every time. Servers are extremely friendly and cautious with my severe allergies only had an issue once and they were apologetic, it hasn’t happened since. Regular spot for us! Something for everyone on the menu.
Our server, Nick, was fantastic! Highly recommend to request him. Both I and my husband have worked in restaurants for years and that was such great service. He was fun, happy, attentive at all the right times, watched our table without interrupting, cleared dishes away accordingly, refreshed drinks when needed, and was upfront if something would take a minute even if it didn’t. We didn’t feel rushed even with the amount of tables he had, but also never had to wait for him to come back. All you can eat sushi is so good here and now is the only place in town you can get it and it doesn’t take hours to get the rolls even at the amount we ordered. Great flavors and presentation. Drinks were also good. But again, Nick was exceptional and probably deserves a raise!
UPDATE: Original review has been edited from 3 to 5 stars due to contact from the manager to make it right. The person that said they didn't have the mustard sauce is new and was unaware that it is available upon request.
The food is consistently good but today I paid for 1 pint of ginger dressing and got 1 pint ginger sauce and they no longer supplied their mustard sauce (which is why I ordered extra white sauce to replace with, since I ordered a pint of the white sauce). The score is because I was not told that it couldn't be supplied PRIOR to picking up the order (they have called me before when there was a question with my order) but no call, etc! I would have edited my order (which would have included removing several of the extra sauces that I paid for)had I been informed. I always order the mustard and they previously made it for me if they didn't already have some made.

My family loves Okami! The atmosphere is great. The staff is super friendly and the food is excellent. The portion size is great and they don’t only give you fried rice you also get some very good egg noodles cooked in front of you as well! We highly recommend Okami!
We showed up around 8:15p and everyone was very polite. We were seated immediately and our waitress, Shannon, was wonderful! Our drinks were kept full and she was truly a highlight of our night! The food was amazing and the shrimp were especially delicious! A 10 out of 10 date night 🙌
We had a large family group there for supper last night (with an advance reservation, of course) and the service, the Chef, and the food were all great! The children that had never been to a hibachi restaurant enjoyed the food "show" and the chef answered their questions, as he cooked. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The food was tasty, with large portions. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!
Our server and chef were great!! Could not have asked for better. My family and I love to try different Japanese steak houses and then discuss. We have eaten at more upscale/intimate establishments so the decor was a little lacking. Soup was very good. Vegetables were also very good. Chicken was super tender but would have preferred hibachi but they served teriyaki. But overall chicken was very good. Steak could have been more tender. Scallops were a no go. Rice needed more seasoning. Portion size was good. I would give it a 6.5 out of 10.
The food is good, but I'm pretty sure they use imitation crab and wasabi other than that everything is quality. The all you can eat sushi is 26-28$ and is worth it! Good service! The habachi chef also gave us a show.

I love love love this place. They have all you can eat sushi, and it never disappoints😋! The customer service is always great. You don't have to look around for your server when it is time to order another roll. Make sure you let them know that it is your first time (if it is), so that they may explain how all you can eat sushi works. If you are a foodie like me, this restaurant is a great idea!!!
This place was amazing!! Had the new phi roll which was like a traditional Philadelphia roll only fried! Great ginger salad, amazing edamame. I got the shrimp Udon noodles and were incredible so thick and juicy so find that juicy double! Follow all of that up with fried cheesecake and you must've been having the time of your life right? Truly was a great time. Highly recommend. A day I'm extremely hungry I want to try the UNLIMITED SUSHI deal!!!
Had birthday dinner. Show was good. They're sushi is ok I enjoy hamachi with jalapeno and ponzu they need that on the menu. Good place for celebrating loved the drum. 😁
Absolutely amazing restaurant!!! The food was delicious, the wait staff was on top of all our needs and the cook was funny and cooked our food perfectly. We will definitely be coming back!!!
Get there early as the line can get long! We had the all you can eat sushi. Every roll was good. The appetizers were small in portion, but they are included in the all you can eat too so you can always order more. FYI...they do have soy wrap and you can have that on the all you can eat menu. It's just a buck more. With two boys, definitely a deal and we will return.
We missed the lunch rush so had a more relaxed meal. The chef we had was entertaining, engaging and knew his trade. Meal was tasty and portions generous. Decor seemed a forced afterthought, placed rather than organic to the building. Our daughter raves about their sushi, though I can't personally attest to the quality.

Great food, prepared quickly and fresh. All you can eat Sushi was great price is up there so be prepared to pay. If you get a roll and you don't finish it they will charge you full price of that selected roll so be wary, it's written in the fine print. Our server was very nice and attentive. Groups of 5 or more including children will be charged a 20% gratuity charge added to bill. 2 year old eat free. Adults are 25.99 and children 3-10 are 18.99. For the all you can eat sushi.
