I can’t say enough good things about this place. The plantains are amazing, the Lizano is on every table and the tacos are on point. It’s so affordable and absolutely delicious. I’m so glad there is a place like this in Wilmington

Went there for lunch today in the middle of a torrential downpour... The spirits were not dampened because the soaking was completely worth it, the shrimp and pork belly tacos were fantastic... Highly recommend the hand crafted tacos, generous portions, and friendly service of Capricho..

Best taco in town, and with the exception of the recently minted Blok Taco, I've tried them all... This place is authentic, yet still packs a little flair for the Foodie looking for something a little special. The wait staff was a bit confused about the ordering process, as many different tables were experiencing issues with their order, but the young lady was working hard to get it it right.. and when it was right it was WAY right! Definitely worth a drop in. I do not think you'll be disappointed!

Awesome, fresh Mexican street food (made to order) - everything feels so authentic about this place! The selection is great, and the food is not overpriced. Just what downtown ILM needs! Thank you, Capricho!

This place is what we've been waiting for in Wilmington. Best tacos in town, hands down. Reasonable prices, friendly service. We had the chips and salsa, carnitas, mole tamales, and elotes. Everything was truly fabulous. The only overpriced thing on the whole menu is the elotes (it's delicious but you can make it at home easily). I wish there were tacos al pastor as well--maybe some day?!

Capricho is consistently my favorite lunch spot downtown. The daily food specials are great, there’s a daily really good beer special, and the everyday menu is amazing. Love supporting a spot with a hands on owner, he’s the chef and puts in work! Shelby right now is the front of house, she’s the sweetest and one of my favorites to see downtown. Quick food, calm and low key atmosphere, im always so excited to go here. Support this local business!!!! I’ve always left happy

Cozy place for a quick bite. Good service too. A large variety of hot sauces for your taste buds. Tuna tacos specials on Friday did not disappoint. Two tuna tacos for $7.50 is a great deal.

Super friendly staff, huge portions, and great prices! We had the chips and salsa (chips were fried to order), plantains, rice and beans platter, elote, salsa Verde enchiladas, and chicken burrito bowl. We also had drinks, and our total bill was only $42! Food was all excellent. Highly recommend, it is near the river walk and Thalian Hall. Update: I just went back a second time and got takeout. It was still awesome, and that is hard to do with takeout!

Maybe not authentic but it was still tasty and I'm giving some extra points for having a variety of hot sauce options. Pictured: salsa verde chicken enchiladas. These are definitely the driest enchiladas I've ever had and I probably should have asked for sour cream or just something to drench it in. The chicken was pretty well seasoned. It's a small space, the vibe is relaxed tavern which I dig. Staff was also super nice. I'll probably go back to try some tacos, Elote, and the churros.

This place doesn't miss. Their food and service are absolutely killer. Tremendous value. Yes, it's a small space, but that just adds to the charm. Hands down, best Mexican restaurant in Wilmington.

Ordered delivery from Capricho thru Uber Eats last night since I was consuming adult beverages at home and was doing the "responsible" thing by not driving. I've ordered Capricho before and thought the meal was very good so I re-ordered the same items again for a second round, in order to document this review. FOOD: Elotes (Mexican street corn), cheese quesadilla, chips and queso and a grilled chicken burrito with lettuce, rice, black beans, fresh jalapeno, queso fresca, salsa and chopped onion. The elotes was for my wife and she said it was very good. When asked how it compared to her favorite, she stated it wasn't as good due to it being very sweet but she still enjoyed it. Our son's quesadilla was just as it's made south of the border and is simple. The cheese blend was plentiful and the tortillas were soft. The side of creamy chili powder dip wasn't bad at all but since it's served very cold, even I preferred the quesadilla without it, once I took a small bite. My burrito was large...very large. It was wrapped neatly in foil and was hot once I sliced into it. The ingredients were very fresh and savory but this burrito was also bland. I was expecting some spice, heat or kick with each bite but there was none. After I added some Valentina hot sauce on top of each bite, the true flavors of the ingredients finally shined. The best summary I can say about this burrito would be this...it's an X-large burrito from Chipotle, when Chipotle is on their game 100% (which is very rare). It was good, just not great. I appreciate how fresh the ingredients were. If I ordered this again, I would order it with cheddar jack cheese, extra jalapeno and no rice inside. There was such a large rice-to-chicken ratio, that the chicken got lost inside with many bites. The star of the night are their multi-colored chips and queso cheese dip. Both were fantastic but there's something about the seasoning dusting on the chips that make them incredible. Quite possibly, my favorite tortilla chips in town now. SCORE: 3.8 STARS!! SERVICE: Used Uber Eats and was delivered to my door 15 mins earlier than advised. All food was hot, properly packaged and nicely presented for delivery. SCORE: 5 STARS!! OVERALL SCORE: It's tasty, fresh and portionally pleasing. With some heat / spice modifications to the burrito, quesadilla dipping sauce and maybe finding a way to char-grill the corn over an open flame for the elotes, this could be seriously great food. Pricing was very fair though and I would try them again. 3.9 STARS!!!

This is one of my favorite places to stop in for lunch! They are always so good and the atmosphere is amazing! I never have to wait too long and the staff has been friendly each time I've come in. I would highly recommend Capricho if you are in the Wilmington area. The restaurant is small so I would recommend grabbing something to go during these Covid times. Thanks for another great lunch!!
