Okay, so we went here because of a Yelp review. 4.5 Stars. It is right near North Point and University intersection. The place is attractive and you feel right at home immediately. The owner came our and took our order. It is a family run business that has been around for several years. I had the El Triunfo special which was chicken, carne asada, and grilled shrimp. My wife just had the carne asada. Folks, this is like a home cooked meal. The main items were all excellent and the rice and beans & pico de gallo were also just really good. The owner knew that this was our first time and helped us out. We have lived in Jersey City and D.C., so we are not unfamiliar with what we are eating. It was as good as we have had anywhere. One of the other reviewers talked about the simplicity of the food; he is right -- do it simple -- do it well -- nothing else needs be done. The owner asked us how we found out about El Triunfo and we said we saw it got good reviews on Yelp. He did not know Yelp, but he was delighted to see the reviews. He is a very nice man; his wife came out and spoke to us and she was also very nice. We will be back time and again. Good food. Good prices. Nice nice people. Chalk this up as a great experience.

Really good food! We had the pupusas, chicken and pork, and they were excellent. The salsa is great. It took a few minutes to cook, but it really wasn't long and anything made to order has a bit of a wait. I'd definitely go back!

I absolutely loved this place, I am a avid fan of Hispanic food so this place when it was mentioned to me sounded like a great idea. It was the walls are beautiful, the person who served me and my girlfriend was real nice. The food was a different breed of good food. I have never are any Salvadorian food only heard of it. Their papusas and tamales are great. The food is a wait because its that good. I ordered my first meal and loved it so much I got second for my dinner. Please dont pass this place up it's great place for your Salvadorian taste buds.

Small little place. I came when I first moved here in 2018. And yum. Been here a couple times after that. I just order the pupusas and tamales. I'm not a fan of Cole slaw but the slaw they make is incredible. I guess I should try something else.

The pupusas were really good and the price is reasonable. I would come here more often, but it seems to only be open for lunch and I work 30 minutes away.

I was in Winston for the day and wanted Spanish food that wasn’t Mexican. I came across this restaurant and I enjoyed it. Everything was authentic and freshly cooked. It came out extremely fast and the horchata was delicious as well. Will definitely come back!
