Best Italian food in the Greater Waterbury Area! Best Pasta Fagioli around. Incredible Penne Ala Vodka. Their Clam Chowder is top notch. Killer buffalo wings (very original recipe). The Lamb Ossobucco is out of this world! Their Veal dishes are awesome. Happy Hour includes half price appetizers and drinks (minimal exclusions apply). Their Seafood is always fresh and cooked amazingly, and they have fresh raw oysters and clams as well. You can't go wrong with this restaurant!!!

We have had dinner there two or three times recently and it was such a pleasant surprise. The food is excellent...portions huge...and the owner Sam is delightful. I highly recommend this as something you need to try sooner rather than later. You won't be disappointed!!!

My family and I came in yesterday to celebrate my husband's birthday. There was a miscommunication as to who was supposed to make the reservation for our party. Long story short no one had made it! So a party of 20 people showed up. Even though we didn't have our reservation, the restaurant still kindly accommodated our family. They quickly formed seating for 20. The food was delicious. I got the filet of sole francaise which is my favorite from there. Great service, great food, and a very nice time. I also had my baby shower there 2 years ago. Everyone enjoyed the food and had such a nice time. I highly recommend Mona Lisa.

Mona Lisa in Walcott CT . What a great place ! the atmosphere is very welcoming . the restaurant is very clean and the staff is very attentive . I will definitely revisit This establishment The bands name is “swift kick” . They were there the evening I had dinner and provided excellent music and entertainment . The food was excellent my scallops were cooked perfectly medium ,the bacon that was wrapped around the scallops was also so cooked perfectly . The shrimp was nice and tender . The baked lasagna entree was fantastic ! Just like momma used to make . Entrees came with salads that were fresh and crisp . Bread is served before dinner warm. Good times - Great people - I’ll be back there for sure again soon !!

We were a party of 6 who went to Mona Lisa for the first time on a Sunday for a lunch/dinner. We wanted to sit outside on their patio which really hadn’t opened officially yet for the season and we were accommodated. The service was friendly and quite efficient. The food was really, really good. I had the Veal Sorrentino and it was fantastic. I would definitely order this delicious meal again. The rest of our group ordered several different items off the menu (burgers, chicken sandwich, etc.) and everyone left happy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I can’t wait to return.

My wife and I went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had a nice time. They were a little slow seating us but from then on the service was good. We started with the fried Burrata cheese appetizer. I went for the Veal Marsala and my wife had the Sam's Special Chicken. I had the Veal Marsala served over pasta (rice or mashed potatoes was another option). The dish was very tasty and filing. The Sam's Special Chicken was Chicken rolled with shrimp, scallops, asparagus, mozzarella and topped with a creamy marsala sauce and served with a side of Lobster Ravioli. My wife said it was wonderful. We will certainly be back and along with having these dishes again we try something new.

Dinner here last night for four had mixed results. Our apps I'd give three stars. The calamari was fair, the clams plentiful but chewy, and the pork bites my partner thought were the same pork chops he had for his main course but cut up on a plate as a starter. Three entrées were four stars and one three. The two grilled pork chops which were smothered with onions and mushrooms were moist and flavorful with the balsamic reduction. A friend enjoyed his 14 oz. rack of lamb and another thought her pan seared salmon was really good. Helping me choose a dish, she said after trying their half a Long Island duck a few times found it was sometimes good and sometimes dry. We inquired how it was tonight before I ordered it and was assured everyone loves the duck. I ended up with the dry version that didn't taste as if it was made that day. All our mains came with either soup (chicken barley) or salad and a medley of vegetables. The two desserts, a warm cobbler with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate lava bomb were a hit - tasty, well-made and presented. Mona Lisa offers a 2-4 people take-out menu that includes bread, salad and a bottle of wine or dessert. # This is another time I wish GM had half stars, too, as I'd give Mona Lisa's Restaurant lunch today four and a half stars. Service, food, atmosphere, menu, prices, bar, spaciousness all very good. Our lunch yesterday was terrific. We had a booth in the sun room where windows look outside to the parking lot, street and blue skies above. For drinks we had a lemonade and a cocktail, "Sex with the Captain," made from spiced rum, Amaretto, and peach schnapps, with orange and cranberry juice. The house dinner rolls were so perfect they crackled when broken. Crisp exterior but not hard, and soft warm interior with a light yeast flavor. For two more dollars, my partner added a house salad to his meal. Fresh with a variety of greens and ingredients including chick peas. The balsamic dressing was bright in the right way. The eggplant grinder that followed his salad was well-cooked with a toasty bun and mozzarella cheese and right balance of seasoned tomato sauce. The Monkfish Tuscany with tomatoes, capers, garlic and basil in a Chianti wine sauce served on baby spinach was a flavorful dish. I haven't seen monkfish on a menu in a very long time and overall not often, so I was impressed to see this fish listed among their specials. Whenever I see this fish in a store I buy it, but it's no longer what the culinary trade called "poor man's lobster," as it's much pricier than what lobster can be bought for now, especially during special times of the year. Mona Lisa's menu is the same for lunch and dinner; the lunch servings are just smaller portions and without sides. Right now, they are revving up for St. Patrick's Day, and with Covid restrictions lifting, live music should be back soon. Warmer weather will open up the outdoor seating that is full of strung lights and lanterns for the enjoyment of diners.

Highly recommend for a nice night out. The sauce that comes with Sam's Chicken is the best thing ever! Make sure you save bread to dip into it!! It's chicken stuffed with seafood and asparagus and 2 lobster ravioli on the side. So good! I order the same thing every time. On our most recent visit, my husband had a huge portion of Chicken Marsala and was happy to have enough to eat it again the next day. They have indoor dining, patio dining and takeout. Very nice people too.
