Fantastic place!!! Prices are more than reasonable, the wait staff is awesome! The owner Tom is super friendly, and the food is amazing! For the overall quality of the restaurant atmosphere and the food, I would expect the prices to be double. I have absolutely nothing I could recommend improvement on! And not enough space to express how good it is. (Also, Rhonda the hostess is funny and sweet! And Sonya the waitress is brilliant)
My lady and I come here all the time, it's become our restaurant of choice when we're thinking of going out and having breakfast, and their lunch menu is also really, really good. Friendly and attentive waitstaff too. Definitely worth checking out!

Table of 7, in and out for a power lunch at noon with plenty of time to spare! Delicious and fresh food. Service was good. (A pitcher of water on the table is always a good idea for larger groups, please consider that) Homemade chips were peppered and cooked perfectly. Clam chowder was delicious (large chunks of clam), wonderful Tuna Croissant. One issue was that the streak wrap didn't have enough meat in it and went mostly uneaten. Otherwise, no other complaints. Prices were reasonable, too. As long as they continue to get us in and out in less than a hour and serve fresh food, then we will definitely be back!
Have eaten here twice so far and the food is good. Prices okay, but a bit more than Papa Gs and Angelos, who were previous owners. Their bacon 🥓 is awesome!
I have been there 3 times now just to have their ham and swiss crepe. It's a great idea and makes me wish I thought of it first! Great staff as well. I will be counted among their regulars.
Awesome food and staff! The good ole boy skillet is awesome and comes with pancakes or toast. You'll never leave hungry!

I have never been disappointed by anything there. Service is always fast and helpful. Never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a table. I am ALWAYS blown away by their quality of their produce. I have turned 3 of my friends onto Double Yolk, and they are in love with it just as much as I am! Keep up the amazing work!!!

Excellent service, selection and tasty food done right.
Always have a good experience when going here. The staff is very friendly and the food is always very good. Prices are reasonable and the amount of food you get definitely gets you full every time. Even at full capacity you never wait too long to get your order on the table, and the waitresses are very attentive.

Aug. 2021: Beautiful day for breakfast outside and what better place than at Double Yolk!! I swear the service gets better each time I come here. Today's meals were the Gyro Omelot and the Smashed Avocado Benedict. Check out the pics!!!
Jan. 2021: Despite Covid, this place is truly rockin'. Again, we ordered our breakfast for pickup. Ordered the Explosion Cakes, which though they looked beautiful, I would not recommend. They tasted more like birthday cake than pancakes. Also got the Cinnamon Raisin French toast which was less attractive but delicious nonetheless. I included pictures of both. Note: I think I will stick to their egg options in the future.
2020: I am so happy to that we still have a breakfast place on the Square, especially a nice family place such as this. You know the food is good as there is always a wait to get in. My recommendation for this business would be to have a larger waiting area. This way people can sit inside as they are waiting. Of course, they would truly need to expand to do that.
We took our grandkids to breakfast as a Spring break. We all enjoyed our meals. The wait staff asked how we wanted our eggs, etc. Every one enjoyed their meals, and thanked for the service. The food was typical breakfast fair, served hot and tasty.
My favorite breakfast restaurant in McHenry County! Always excellent service & delicious food! Great for families, couples, and even on your own.
