Went with my daughter and her man for my first time last night. Vermont needs a place like this!! it was a really unique experience. Our waitress was training another waitress and was very knowledgeable about every question we had. We ordered 3 all-you-can-eat selections and it was a huge amount of food. It's better to order sparingly as they bring more food when you ask for it. There is a two hour limit per table and that was perfect! The choices we made were varied! 4 tofu varieties and a miso broth and tons of veggies for me, while my adventurous tablemates chose everything from pork to salmon, shrimp, calamari and crab legs to tripe and sausage and lamb. 8 varieties of Noodles and rice... Definitely an experience to be repeated. The wine list was short but excellent and the martinis were fun and delicious!
We went it was great we liked it we'd def go back again someday I'd like to do hot pot at home like we do fondu but when went we had no issues with this place what so ever the atomosohere in there is terrific it's very classy/nicely decorated service was great the place is really clean this is a place that will do well with their business even though their parking lot is small they get pretty packed in there they go really good business the food is delicious
Such a great atmosphere and the food is delicious! Have gone here the past 3 years for my birthday dinner, I highly recommend Chuan Shabu Worcester!
My husband and I have done a few different hot pot places, and this ranks up there! Definitely more modern and chic than hot pot international buffet in china town, but they don't skimp on authentic options or quality. They offer a competitive price for their all you can eat option and we definitely weren't disappointed. Top contender for our future hot pot adventures.
Last night my husband, two little ones (ages 5, 8,) and myself went for a family outing at Shabu. I was unsure if I wanted to attempt this type of meal with busy little ones, but I am beyond impressed! We ordered the Deluxe Hot Pot with Mala soup base for 2, along with Boba smoothies (Passionfruit was AMAZING,) Guinness for the guy (who mentioned it was the perfect temperature,) and wings for the kids. Our server was so kind and patient, even came back to refill our hot pot because it was a very slow moving process for our group. The owner greeted us a couple of times, sent our server back to our table with crayons and paper for the kids to draw on while we ate.
Amazing food (who knew King Trumpet mushrooms were out of this world,) smoothies were refreshing, boba was cooked perfectly, the gluten free Passionfruit cheesecake with coconut crust was superb, and the service was top notch.
Thank you to the owner and wonderful staff for welcoming our entire family.
Beyond incredible food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!
If you seek a flaming hot broth, taste sublime, check it out. All pot ingredients fresh; we seek hot pots from Atlanta to Worcester. See David, design your dish. Our top ten best meal in this decade. Quality.
This place is excellent & the hostesses are very friendly, and attentive. The hot pot is delicious & you get to check off the vegetables & seafood that you want to put in it. They serve a variety of appetizers & their drinks are made to perfection. Very family, friendly, and welcoming environment. I am going to make it a family tradition, as well tell all my family & friends about it.
So amazing. We had been wanting to go here for some time, and finally got a chance to stop. We were greeted by friendly staff, and a very clean, modern, open interior. The smells of other diners' meals wafted in on the warm breeze coming from the open windows, full of glorious pepper, garlic, soy, and myriad meat and veggie scents.
We sat down and were immediately attended to by Mimi. Friendly and instantly accommodating to my wife's gluten allergy, Mimi explained to us how the hot pot worked, and how to order things on their menu. I had been to shabu shabu restaurants in Japan, so I knew what was going on, but it was new to my wife. Ordering was as simple as choosing a broth(or two!), what you wanted to cook in the broth, and any noodle or rice sides to accompany the cooked food.
We ordered the herbal broth and the mala broth, which was a spicy chinese broth, along with the platter for 2. The platter for 2 included a meat selection(pork, beef, chicken, and lamb sliced VERY thin), a seafood plate(squid, clams, scallops, shrimp, and flounder), and a veggie basket(4 kinds of mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, bok choy, and carrots), and 2 rice/noodle dishes(we got rice vermicelli and udon noodles) We also got some pork belly in garlic/chili sauce, and a couple of delicious drinks, a redheaded panda and a mai tai.
All the food was wonderful, the broths were flavorful, the veggies, meats, and mushrooms were fresh, and Mimi was very attentive with conversation as well as getting everything to us in a timely manner and with a great attitude.
Stuffed, we thought we would never have any room for dessert, but Mimi tempted us with some passionfruit cheesecake, which we decided to share. We made it disappear in about 2 minutes, and it was wonderful to have such a refreshing cheesecake with such different tastes than the normal chocolate laden desserts.
We're going to go back often, and we hope to get Mimi every time, she was simply amazing.
Nice atmosphere, good drinks, nice portions and the salt and pepper wings are to die for!
