Looking for some seriously good brunch food and/or comfort food? Taste of Home in downtown Wylie hits it out of the park! We stopped in over the weekend and these omelettes were to die for! Seriously, one of the best omelettes I've ever had. Service was friendly and accommodating but definitely not fast so go to enjoy and relax. The ambiance is along the lines of your grandmother's country kitchen. Quaint place with excellent food and friendly service! Do yourself a favor and check it out!
I had a wonderful experience. They did lose our order. But they were quick to admit it. They corrected the problem efficiently. Their Mimosas were good. First I've ever had. I had a small onion soup which ok. Their Reuben sandwich was very good. Service was great. They were very busy. So for the waitresses to be that Attentive was amazing. The owners even found time to visit our table . Even before the incident was discovered. They are the ones who apologized and made good on the mistake. Not many owners are like that these days. It was a pleasant experience and I will be going back.
One of my favorite places in Wylie. Great location, the food is tasty and served hot. I love the service, I’ve had multiple servers and I have no complaint about any, they were all great. Absolutely worth the drive, their menu offers multiple meals and deserts at an affordable price, the volcano chocolate cake is one of my favorite. I recommend this place to every single one of my friends because it’s that good!
Delicious food and welcoming environment. Taste of Home is the kind of comfort restaurant you need for a relaxing lunch. Operating in a modified home, the restaurant truly lives up to its name. Noise level is great and conversations are easy to hear. The waiting staff is friendly. Taking into consideration that I went on a sunny summer day, it was a little warm inside but not uncomfortable. Definitely will revisit should I ever get a craving for southern comfort.
We moved to St Paul a year ago and tried Taste of Home right away. Very cool atmosphere: built in an old house, so you feel like you're at Grandma's for dinner. We've been several times now. Each time the waitress and hostess has been very nice. The food is really good, with nice sized portions...enough to take home leftovers.
We really enjoyed this restaurant. The antique furniture matched the unparalleled southern hospitality of the waitstaff and hostess. We got the eggs Benedict and buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and HUGE portions. Will definitely be going back to try some of their salads and other breakfast items.
