My Wednesdays consist of my buddy Dennis and I driving up coastal route one North to photograph the beauty Maine has to offer. This Past Wednesday we decided to head South. I forgot to mention that my Wednesdays also consist of trying a new spot weekly for a lobster roll. We had been on the road far too long that day without food and happened to stumble upon one of the coolest bars I've been to in Maine yet in my 43 years here. Great atmosphere and very friendly and laid back staff. Super cool spot and the lobster roll and fries were great!! 2 πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

I was there on Sunday with my whole family (12 of is) celebrating my birthday. I think I can speak for all of them that we all had a wonderful time. It was so much fun playing Bocce and Corn Hole while eating, drinking and listening to a terrific band ( actually we stayed so long we hesrd 2 bands). The service was quick and food was good but the atmosphere was what made it so much fun. I recommend Lobster In The Rough for a group event. The best! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Have nothing but great things to say about The Rough. The atmosphere is so fun and lively. There is music, corn hole and other games that the whole family can enjoy. The food is also fantastic and there is a huge variety of options. I had my wedding here last summer and they truly made everything I wanted my big day to be, happen. I am so happy today is their opening day and can't wait for a fun summer.

Lovely low key lobster roll lunch. We're traveling with our dog so it was so nice to find a specific dog-friendly seating area. Generous lobster, perfect toast on the roll (wish it was a bigger roll though), and tasty chips. Exactly what we were looking for.

High energy outdoor place. Multiple sitting arrangements - bar, fire pits, tables. Music band. Lots of seafood. Fish tacos and fish&chips were good.

Our favorite takeout seafood place was packed so we drove further north to look for another restaurant. We accidentally found lobster in the rough - it was set back a ways off the road. We had never heard of this place so our expectations were low. However, we were pleasantly surprised as the fried seafood was excellent. Good quantity of food for the price and fast service. The fish was fresh and tasty. Lots of picnic tables both in and out of the sun. We will definitely be back soon.

Good food, live music and friendly staff. There's outdoor bar and you can play corn hole, bocce or horseshoe while you're waiting for food.

I've been coming to the southern coast of Maine for YEARS and I always drove by this place... well shame on me. On a whim we stopped here on our way back down the coast at the end of our trip in September. We travel with our dog and it's hard sometimes to grab food. So we planned on just eating in the car but, while they do not allow dogs into the fenced in outdoor restaurant area, they do provide some picnic tables just right outside the fence where we were able to sit with her and enjoy some really DELICIOUS food. My fish sandwich was phenomenal and the housemade chips are ridiculously good. Our dog loved the hot dog (I sneaked a bite before I gave it to her and it was so good as well). The prices were amazing and just overall it was exactly what we were looking for. We will DEFINITELY be back the next time we are up there.
