Thinking that ignorance runs rampant with some of these low ratings. I have never had any of the experiences that these one and two star reviews speak of, and I am there on an almost continuous basis. The food is good, the service great, and the people genuine. Sorry if those that had bad experiences where not pampered as you expected, but it’s a real eatery with real people, get off your high horse and enjoy the good food, good times, and great location.
I have visited them regularly since they moved to the waterfront and before. I have found the food great and the staff great!

Some of the BEST, if not the best, barbeque we've ever eaten! All meat - no fat and delicious taste! Also, the BEST carrot cake I've ever eaten (and I've sampled a lot!). Highly recommend to all - outstanding!

Absolutely loved it... got the sampler and it was the best of everything. Sue was incredible.. nice little delightful stop to have a nibble while here for our anniversary weekend! Love the chick pea salad!!!!
We had visited Carrot Tree many years ago, before it's move. Has just the right size lunches and desserts. A great little place for something to east.

The food is always fresh and the carrot cake yummy as usual! We ate outdoors in the cool fall breeze!
The best my wife went and came back to hotel and could not stop talking about it so the next day we both went and it was better then she said can't wait to come back to Virginia
Mouthwatering sandwiches and the service was excellent!
The food here is so good! If you like carrot cake, you need to get a piece to-go because if you're anything like us, you'll be too full to eat it there. The dill potato salad is also amazing. Their bread is perfectly toasted but still soft and not so thick that it takes away from what's inside the sandwich. We will definitely be back next time we are in Yorktown!
We did a quick take-out from here while walking the Riverwalk and loved it. My wife had the quiche and the carrot cake, and raved about both; I had the roast beef wrap and a brownie, and both were delicious. (I regret I cannot remember the names the dishes had on the menu.) The staff was friendly and service was fast, and I look forward to trying them again the next time we visit Yorktown.
The people are really polite. The food is amazing and at an affordable price. The portion size guarantees you won't be hungry leaving. (I ate the other side of the wrap in the picture) I highly recommend this as a lunch stop if you're coming to the shops or even in the area!
Second time here...more amazing this time. The ham salad croissant was so heavenly. Hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The buttery crispy croissant made the sandwich scrumptious... The turkey wrap with blue cheese spread and walnuts was very yummy too. I'll never forget that ham croissant though! 😍 Love the Yorktown location!
The carrot cake is amazing. It’s worth the drive for take out! Great little cafe with homemade stuff. Kind staff. Great location winter or summer!
We went here for lunch. The carrot cake was the best part! Excellent recipe and preparation! When the weather is fine, there is outdoor dining available, and the look is old and charming. Indoors is more utilitarian-looking, but it's still cute in its way. It's a pleasant place to grab some reasonably-priced, deli food, and be sure to get a slice of that carrot cake.
