We went to the Town House tonight, steak was great, service was also outstanding. Will return! Have not been there since they moved. Sorry that we haven't!
I had the antipasto salad. It was good, but I LOVE pickled stuff. It had 10-12 olives, 10-12 pepprocinnis, pickled giadenera, pickled heritage tomatoes, a slab of feta (which is an extra sharp cheese) with a little lettuce and feta dressing. It was overwhelmingly pickled. It almost hurt to finish. I also ordered the beef tenderloin shish kabob, which was really lemony. Combined with the salad, it was too much tang. Every thing by its self was delicious, but I would not order it all together. The staff was more than attentive. They brought the kids each a bowl of applesauce out just because I got my salad out before they got their food. I would rate their food an 8 out of 10, and their service an 11 out of 10. You should eat here, but be careful about how you pair your food.
Great Dinner. The Town House Dinning Room is the most under rated eating establishment in Albuquerque. The food is delicious and the personal attention by Frank and his staff is the best. Don't be fooled by the reasonable prices. The food compares with any restaurant where you can pay three times the price. Frank has paid great attention to the wine list and has grown it to over 70 selections. Frank's knowledge of wine is as good as you will find except without the intimidation. The greek kabobs are our favorite but we have enjoyed the beef filet as well as the prime rib. Give them a try, you won't regret it.
Love the Town House!. So, first thing you should know is that adults get complimentary alcohol with their meal. Yep, you read that right. It's called a footwarmer and it will warm you up for sure! The food is phenomenal as well. Love the chicken cordon bleu! It's affordable with amazing flavor and addicting fries. You also can't go wrong with the meats. I love the kebabs and definitely get the pork chops any time they are on special. They are heavenly! Also, the bread is fresh baked and melts in your mouth. Seriously - this place is great! I would eat there every night except it used to be a date night location with my ex. Darn him!
Great review. Food was excellent . our server was the best went above and beyond a friends birthday what a great evening thanks Becky and Frank
My wife and I had a great evening out enjoying this wonderful restaurant. The waitstaff was very polite and welcoming. Our server, Becky, was very helpful and courteous.
The food was great! My wife ordered a prime rib and scallop entree. The beef was tender and cooked to order. I had broiled lamb chops and they were very tasty, especially when paired with the restaurant mint jelly.
We would definitely recommend!
Great Find. The outside make you question the restaurant, but when you enter the restaurant your questioning of the restaurant goes away. The inside is white table cloth and very clean. The menu is straight forward with apps, seafood and yes the meat section. A carnivores dream, from Prime Rib, 16 oz New York Strips, Rib Eyes. I had the New York Strip Rare, which was great. Take time to have a private moment, it's that good. Service was very good, with out being over bearing. I WILL return and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The owner is very nice and attentive. My husband had the catfish and it was outstanding. We also got to sample the prime rib and it was superb. The baklava is very rich -- one was plenty for both of us. Although this restaurant is on the higher end in price, we would recommend it.
Large Group. We went for a group celebration, with a very mixed age group. Several members of our party recall the old location, and were delighted to try the new location. The new location is near KAFB - Wyoming gate, on east Central Ave. The younger group members liked the easy access from I-40. Easily accessible parking is close to the entrance, a plus for some of our older group members. We were seated in a room where we could actually enjoy dinner conversation and relax. It was a very nice atmosphere for our large party.
We made reservations, and were seated on-time! We ordered several appetizers. The dolmas (appetizer size) were quite good, and the fried zucchini were crisp, yet not greasy. Be sure to try the baked feta appetizer . . . it was a big hit! (We should have ordered two - one for each end of the table.)
Most of our party ordered the cat fish. It was excellent - the breading was crisp and the fish was moist and flaky. Other members tried the char-burger. It, too was well cooked and tasty. Everyone was satisfied with their menu choice.
The service was good; on spot, but not too intrusive on the group. We were graciously greeted by the owner, who circulated back to our table to be sure things were going well. The waitress was a nice young woman who was polite, but not pushy. The value was excellent and within the budget of all who attended.
Definitely an enjoyable evening and a good meal. The new Town House is a well kept dining secret that needs to be broadcast! As one member stated, "It's good to see an Albuquerque landmark return."
Better than ever!. We had a wonderful dinner tonight at the TownHouse (uptown). Frank told me about the special, salmon, and I had to have it. It was the best I have ever had! Frank filleted it and the grilling was perfect. Them lemon butter topping was just wonderful. We are so glad to have the TownHouse back!
Just as good as they always were! Yum! I used to go with my dad to the old location and it made for fond memories. My husband heard they opened back up and surprised my mom and I with dinner there. He surprised me with an anniversary dinner there too. Yum! The food was just how I remember it from my childhood. And the service was awesome too!
WOW!!!!. I took my family here for dinner last night and was blown away. I am always looking for a good place to have prime rib. I am no longer looking! This place has the best prime rib I have ever had! Melt in your mouth with the best flavor! My better half who is not much of a meat eater had the chopped sirloin and said it was great. I thought there is no way chopped sirloin can be great, but guess what IT WAS! If you haven't made a trip here yet by all means get there tonight! We also had the pleasure of sitting down with the owner and he is extremely nice and informative about his recipes!
What a surprise in a part of town I wouldn't normally choose to go for dinner. Flavor was awesome! Service, wonderful! Would recommend for everyone who is looking for a new place to go for a great meal or for all of you who went to the old location, try it again!
The best prime rib in TOWN!! It just melts in your mouth! Do not miss this if you like steak!
To Die For Flavor. I have grown up with the Town House. I moved away from New Mexico for years, and when I came back they were closed down. Recently they reopened and the food is still amazing. Went for lunch today after hearing that they had reopened. The pork shish kabobs still have the same amazing flavor they always had. Tried the beef shish kabob as well and it was to die for. These are the best shish kabob's in town in my opinion.
This restaurant is a must eat place for anyone in the city and they offer some amazingly flavorful food. For the price and quality of food this is a steal. Do your taste buds a favor and visit as soon as possible. Glad to have this restaurant back.
One of the Duke City’s longest-standing and most famous steers served as a beacon for 45 years to Albuquerque diners, letting them know that they were within steak sniffing, sizzling sound hearing distance of the Town House Lounge & Restaurant on Central Avenue just west of Washington. To detractors, the steer on the roof helped reinforce the stereotype that Albuquerque is a “cow town,” but to its many long-time diners, it was an open invitation to dine on grilled steak and lamb, prime rib and chops, hamburgers and salads as well as many popular American and Greek favorites.
Best meal I've had in Albuquerque.nicest folks, mgmt.and server.catfish perfect, loaded baked potato spot on,appetizer as well. Comfortable .first time in,treated like family.better than mine! Can't wait to come back for prime rib.
My husband & I complain that there are few good mom & pop's in ABQ. Townhouse has it all! Excellent food, excellent service, & excellent prices/portions. It's classy but not pretentious & has an old school feel. The only thing that I think does it a disservice is it's location which is Central & Wyoming. We don't mind it & think it adds character w/a kind of "Breaking Bad" ambiance, but could see how others might not get it. We certainly love it!
Great food ( steak and shrimp) and service. Excellent complimentary dessert with the meal. We will go back there again.
More people need to visit this place
Their prime rib is out of this world. Rolls from scratch, clam chowder delicious and the service excellent. I'll go back again, and have told others.
Love this European style dining! Owners present and visit tables, great waitstaff, been here 4 times now, it's my new fav now that Pauls is gone!!! Yum!
Hidden gem. Swing by and try any of the dishes. The catfish special and fish and chips plate were awesome. Family owned and operated.
