I wanted to take my sister who just moved into the area, some place new and different. She is not a foodie and a super picky eater, so I was a bit nervous to take her to this restaurant Rumi’s Kitchen, that I have been hearing about. First off the restaurant is in the Avalon, awesome location, especially for GNO or a date night, we loved its warm bronzy tones and modern Persian flair. I knew we would be in for an experience. They didn’t disappoint. What an incredible food explosion that entices all your senses from the rose water infused basmati rice with fragrant pieces of orange zest and crunchy pistachios to the smoky eggplant appetizer, which we couldn’t get enough of. I love how much food they gave you and my favorite was the Chicken Barg. Our server Robinson, greeted us as though we were coming over to dinner at his home for a meal especially prepared for us. He was so amazing and informative in moving us through these beautifully thought out and exotic Persian and Middle eastern dishes. This was very important to me, because my family had never had this type of cuisine. Also we got to meet and chat with the owner Ali, he is also the chef, who created these clean, healthy and authentic Persian dishes. We felt so taken care as well by Mike the GM, he was the party of the show, lots of energy and very attentive to all the guest. We raved about the food all night, we will be coming back again for sure.
