I come here mainly for the steamed buns, shumai, bread, and cake.
I love that the cakes aren't too sweet much like a lot in the town for about the same price.
The food is rather heavy and hugely portioned (sharing size), which is not surprising because Chinese food tends to be oily from the fats, and I find that some dishes need a bit of acidity to balance that. Shumai is heavy from the pork fat, so I dip it in vinegar, soysauce, and chili oil when they have it.
The bread is the high point of this place since it is a bakery. The white bread is soft and milky as well as their wheat. I recommend buying their bread for sandwiches because it bumps up the taste, and desert sandwiches can be made with white.
This is the place to get milky soft bread like what's made in Asia.
Really good fried rice and sesame chicken, fresh food, fast and friendly service. Generous portions. Large groups can do 2 entrees for every 3 adults and leave full.
I love this place. Most likely my top choice for Chinese in Anchorage, and probably the only place that has dim sum that I know about. Their red bean buns are the right amount of sweet and the egg tarts are heavenly. Their birthday cakes are incredibly light and not too sweet, making it perfect crowd pleaser.
