This place was a hidden gem! The bartender/waiter/runner was the nicest person on the planet, so attentive to us all. The food was great quality, far above what you would expect for Tavern food. It was reasonably priced, easy to find, just perfect. Highly recommend!
Cheap steak dinner which was fantastic. Steak was cooked and seasoned perfect. The twice baked potato was rich and creamy. The asparagus was fantastic and not woody. Our server/bartender was polite and attentive even though she was by herself. She may have been cooking as well.
The place caught our eye because of the wreath of free dog treats. 🐕 Pretty good sign it's got some good people working there. If I'm ever in Baltimore again I'll definitely be back.
To start, I will say that if you are ever in the area, take the advantage and the adventure to visit DogWatch Tavern.
DogWatch Tavern was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Baltimore. We were enjoying the sport of wandering around, and we passed a place that had amazing food smells surrounding it. We continued our walk, but circled back around to see what smelled so delicious. We saw there were daily specials, along with a hula hoop hanging for public use, and various other lawn and arcade games available. We entered, and were greeted with joy and instantly felt welcomed. There was only one person working, and she was so amazing, it felt like we were back home for a moment. I wish I would have gotten her name, because I would like to assume she was also the owner of the establishment. We took a seat of our choosing and were delivered a cute little beer glass full of pretzels. We had the daily special- asparagus, twice baked potato and a 12oz steak. If I can start to explain, it was, hands-down, the MOST AMAZING thing I have ever put into my mouth. Every bite was better than the one before, and I had to resist licking the plate clean. Not only was it a magical experience for my taste buds, my stomach was more than satisfied as well. I struggled to finish my potato, but didn't want to stop eating. After she took our dishes, she brought us a small and fancy glass full of girl scout cookies to eat while she ran our card.
I have to say that it was my fondest and most cost-worth experience we had during our time in Baltimore. I will be making the trek again in the future just to visit again. ♡
