We reserved our dinner at 8:30pm not knowing that the place closed at 9pm on a Sunday, but that didn’t stop the staff from not serving and hosting us. From the beginning when we walked in, they were kind and considerate and were okay for my partner and I to still enjoy a great dinner even when they were about to close. The lights were aromatic and nice and dim to give a nice dinner date vibe for me and her. We started with a bottle of white wine to go with our app of fried calamari, which was seasoned with some good cajun seasoning. It was nice and crispy and the cajun was done right! Have it a nice spice to it. For our entre, I got the duck ravioli and it was done correctly! The meat was tender and fresh; and the mushroom with the sauce on it was just to drool over. It tasted amazing. Such a nice pairing to go with the ravioli. My partner got a pasta dish with shrimp and mushroom in it. She said it tasted amazingly. And the size was good enough for her to take the rest home. The wine went well with her dish. We ended the night with dessert and they were great to end after the meals. The best part was the live singing! Such a great voice the older man had while playing the piano. I’d def come back here when I return to Baltimore.

Sammy’s Trattoria is a great spot located in Mt. Vernon serving up Italian favorites. Sonny’s chicken parm was great covered in a generous douse of sunday sauce. The Risotto Rene was also scrumptious with black truffle wild mushrooms. We also had a side of broccoli and angel hair pasta, each an excellent accompaniment to our main dishes. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

My partner and I came in and had the rigatoni alla vodka, and the pasta carbonara. Our waitress, Valerie was extremely kind— despite the fact they seemed understaffed— she recommended us a fantastic wine and had us in and out. Great food and great service! Will definitely be coming back :)

Some highlights for this typical trattoria: generous portions of freshly baked bread with a nice spread. Very tasty bruschetta (with black olives). Gigantic pasta portions. Quick service. 2 antipasti, 1 glass of wine, 2 pastas $107 which isn't cheap but given the portion sizes, I wouldn't say it was excessive either. A lady who probably was the owner looked exactly like my aunt's and was on top of everything.

Sammy's is our favorite date dinner when headed to the Meyerhoff. Staff are always extraordinary and work so hard on show nights. Food is always amazing. We can't wait to return.

It was my first time in Baltimore, and we had a beautiful experience. The food was delicious, and the wine was great. My BFF and I love Italian cuisine. It was wonderful!

Overall I love their food. Kinda classic Italian. No fancy decorations but more portions to serve you. In addition, they equally charge 20% tip. 🍝Highly recommend the clam cream sauce pasta. It was huge and it tasted really good. The pasta had good chewy texture. 🥟I was a little bit disappointed with the duck ravioli. I love the oil over the mushroom that came with, but the filling inside the ravioli was dry. 🥗Their burrata was really creamy. But for me this salad could be improved. 🍤The shrimp appetizer was good, rich creamy sauce with the taste of lemon to refresh.

Service was top notch, and the restaurant is very nice. The food was good overall and prices aren't too bad. My only disappointment was that they gave us salad for the table ... when the bill came, they charged us per person for it, and with 10 of us, it was $70! for salad.

This food was RIDICULOUS. Sooooo amazing, and they really wanted us to have the best! They made great recommendations and were honest about what to get, and I really appreciated that. Also the bread dip has been in my brain for weeks, I need more!

We had a great dinner! The hosts were very welcoming and our waiter was fantastic. I had the tortellini and my partner had the spaghetti. Both dishes were delicious and we’ll definitely be returning!

Visited Sammy’s while I was on vacation and it was the best decision I made. The staff is great and the food is amazing! Their bread and dip they offer is amazing! I have no idea what they put in the dip, but I’m still thinking about! We ordered the their spaghetti and the sausage and peppers. The portions were great and everything was packed with flavor. The staff took care of us from the second we walked in. It was a busy Friday night and we didn’t have reservations. Their host (Leonard, I think was his name) found us a spot rather quickly. Carly and Val made sure we had everything and we didn’t even have to ask for more bread or refills. You can tell their staff really enjoy their job and actually care about their guests. Plus, the atmosphere is great. If your staying in the area add Sammy’s to your itinerary.

My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner in the mezzanine space last week, and it was *honestly* a perfect event from start to finish. Carly was so helpful and quick to respond while planning, and our bartender Joshua was attentive but laid back and fun all night. Every dish was delicious, everyone left stuffed, I don’t think theres a single thing they could have done differently to make a better family-style Italian dinner for a large party. Looking forward to celebrating many anniversaries here to come <3

My wife and I ate here in 2008. We met Sammy, loved the food, loved him, and a few months later we came back to hold our wedding rehearsal dinner. Aside from actually getting married, it was the best thing we did all weekend!

Valerie, our waitress ROCKED! She made excellent suggestions & was very accommodating. The food was beyond what we could’ve expected & portion size was enough for 2 people. I got the Chicken Francese w/ Pasta Rigatoni Vodka. It was cooked to perfection. My husband got Seafood Francesca Diavolo and it was loaded with calamari, shrimp, crab meat & scallops and the flavor was delicious (he asked for it just a little hot). The bread & salad are to die for. Sammy’s was an all around phenomenal experience & we can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I went here for a date night. It was fabulous. We were able to reserve a table earlier in the afternoon. We had some trouble finding parking, but found a spot a few blocks away and just walked. We walked and were immediately greeted by one of the waitress ( I believe her name is Amanda) and were allowed to pick anywhere we wanted. We ordered a bottle of wine to split - Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d' Abruzzo. We thought about ordering the other Abruzzo wine, the house red (my family is from Abruzzo), but our waitress Val, said it wasn't nearly as good. She even offered us a taste. Skip the house wine and go to the others. Order the house salad with your meal. It is so tasty. There is enough dressing, but not too much to overload the salad. For our meals, I ordered the Judge Sweeney’s Pappardelle alla Bolognese with sausage. I wasn't sure because I am not a huge fan of veal, but you can't even taste it. The serving was massive, it is definitely 2 or 3 meals for me. My husband ordered the Duck Ravioli and he cleaned his plate. It was so good. We ordered cannoli's to go, of course! We we definitely be back. The service was amazing, the food delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful.

Food was delicious. Service was excellent. They somehow managed to serve us even though we walked in on a Sunday evening without reservations into a *packed* restaurant (there was an event at the nearby at Meyerhoff). This was my first time here and I can't wait to go back!!
