Found this great local spot as we were in town with lots of young ladies for Purple and Gold Gymnastic Invitational... their cafe au lait was a hit and selection of Stash teas.. we had the best buttery, incredible southern biscuit ever with sausage and tried their beignets...have to say their beignets beat out Cafe du Monde’s in NOLA far and away... much lighter..airy and fluffier with whatever degree of powder sugar you desire... can’t purchase their biscuit dough mix but you can purchase their beignet mix and coffee beans... lovely spot to sit a spell too.. have to search for that biscuit recipe.. yum
Love this place! It's a must stop trip on my way from Texas to Florida. Summer 2017 my daughter and I stopped for our beignets and I mentioned to one of the very nice and friendly staff members that their shop was a stop for our beignet "fix". She told me about their beignet mix and that I could make them at home....well I've tried mixes in the past but was not successful (which I mentioned to her). She told me the best oil was winterized cotton seed oil and that would make the difference in my success! Boy was she correct. I finally found the oil and have been making beignets; and the best part is my husband loves them too. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the woman that was so helpful last summer but thanks for the great tip about the oil (and the "pat to puff"). I will still visit the shop on my trips for the friendly atmosphere, coffee, beignets, and the mix to go. See y'all soon I hope (I'm almost out of mix, lol).
Clean place, friendly staff.
Thursday nights car meets are fun and full of good people and wild rides.
