There aren't words for this place...homemade blue cheese chips, freshly made mojitos, vodka freezes...enough said. Lunch or dinner you can't miss. Great date night place.
Linda and I arrived about 7:30 pm and were seated. The LSU and McNeese game had just started as bad weather set in. First up was the blue cheese chips which I'd never tried before. Crispy, thick. potato chips covered with bleu cheese chunks and dressing sprinkled with green onion. Absolutely delicious. Next was the Caesar salad made with real anchovies. Needed a little extra dressing and they brought a jigger full, perfect. Linda and I both ordered fish Almandine. She got Tilapia and I got salt water fish. The charred edges of the fish were delicious and covered with a mildly sweet sauce and toasted almonds. We split bred pudding for desert. As the rain had us restaurant bound while we waited on the rain to clear, the staff came out and visited with the customers. We met Dustin, the head chef and a grad of the Culinary Institute and celebrity chef. The weathered cleared at 9 pm and we were gone. Good time, good food. We'll be back.
Great food. I really like this place. The service is always great. The menu is pretty diverse. Brunch here is excellent! My personal favorite here is the wasabi seared chicken salad.
WOW. Saw this place in 225 so I gave it a try with my mom. The food was amazing. Everything we had was just delicious and we will be back. Staff and service is great too. And have a very nice bar with good drinks. Awesome place.
Pretty Good. One of the better places in Baton Rouge, but not something I'll go to weekly or anything.
Great. Very quaint little place. Food and service were great.
One of the best restaurants in BR. This is the place that I always take visitors to when they come to Baton Rouge. It has the flavor of gourmet fine dining, but is incredibly reasonably priced.
The burgers are phenomenal, the Byronz Bleu burger at the top of my list.
I've had the pot roast, which is arguably one of their best dishes. It has a thick homemade gravy that delights the tastebuds, and is perfect to soak up the great beer that I suggest you indulge in.
We ate here during my Bachelor party, and all 7 of my groomsmen agreed that it was incredible.
I can't say enough about this place. It is everything a restaurant should be...tasty with local flavor, comfortable, friendly, and affordable.
Yumo!. Went here for restaurant week and loved it! There were three people in our party, we all had the crab bisque for the appetizer and it was good, although two of us added a dash of salt to our cups. For the entree two got the Poisson Acadiana (crawfish etoufee w/ fried catfish), and I had the flat iron steak. Both were very good, my steak was cooked to order and I really enjoyed the fries that came with it, they were thin and crispy, and I used them to sop up the juices. We each got one of the three deserts offered. The key lime pie was just a bit too soar for our taste, but the cookie and brownie sundae's were perfect. I also had one of there drinks, I can't remember the name but it was supposed to be a dreamsickle. And like so many other places I basically got a screwdriver with some extra sugar, not something I would call a dreamsickle. The only real negative I have to say about the place was our waiter was very slow. Not sure if he had too many people in his section or if it was just a busy night. But we saw people who sat after us get served before us. So a bit annoying. But overall loved the food and the atmosphere - it had a very comfortable feel with a hint of New Orleans, the table napkins were dishcloths like you'd see in your grandmother's kitchen but that she'd never use at the dinner table. And no skimpy portion sizes. I'd definitely go back here again.
One of the best restaurants in the city. Feels like I am in New Orleans. These guys do food well. That is saying a lot.

One of our family's favorites!. Bistro Byronz is one of our favorite places to visit ... whether it be for Sunday Brunch, weekday evening, or hanging on the patioduring the weekend with family and friends! The Bleu Cheese Chips are to die for; the Steak Frite Salad allows me to eat my "greens" while indulging my addiction to french fries; and my all time favorite is the Turkey Burger with gruyere cheese and bell peppers. YUM! Don't forget to top it all off with a Vodka Freeze. DELISH! Plus, the staff is always great! Now, it's time to bring one of these to South Baton Rouge - just do it! :-)
AMAZING!!!!. Best birthday spot EVERRRR! Mary is the best bar tender so ask for her!!!! She makes THE best Sazerac in the 225 area code by far.
Definitely must get the blue cheese chips for an appetizer! The turkey burger on seven grain bread, the blue mac -n- cheese, the blackened shrimp salad, and the pot roast are among my favorites, but it's hard to go wrong with anything here.
The Turkey Burger is awesome. It is the king of turkey burgers. Plus it comes with a side a sweet frites. For entrees, you can never go wrong with the pot roast. But if you go to the bistro and do not order the Blue Cheese Chips, you are missing out. Geaux Bistro!
Bistro byronz is great! I went last week and the food and service were amazing. Our server showed great initiative and had so much energy! The whole staff seemed very mature but they never hesitated to have a good laugh! Get some blu cheese chips and a turkey burger..you wont regret it!
Everything on the menu is it's own delectable experience. If you are looking for a place to eat where a relaxed hip mid-town atmosphere and classic interior meets comfort food with a modern twist, this is definitely an option. The service is always great and the food is always fresh and consistent.
Amazing food. Amazing service. And amazing bartenders. Pretty much sums up anything you can say about Bistro Byronz. Deffinetly check out their new drink menu! The new signature martinis are to die for!
Place has great food and a great atmosphere. Back of the stove chicken, blackened shrimp salad, and Shrimp Alfredo are just a few of my I recommend that you try it at least once.
This place is awesome! The food is excellent and the service is great! Highly recommend that any and everyone make a visit to this place. Definitely a Baton Rouge gem.
The place rocks with Awesome food and service
Every time I am in Baton Rouge I make it a point to eat here! The food is amazing and the service is top notch! I highly recommend the blue cheese chips as well as th bellini-tini!
Such an amazing place. Amazing food. Great service. Very nice atmosphere. Just like their motto says, there, "Good. Real Good."
Love the Blie Cheese Chips!!!!
Good. Real good!. I've been working at bistro Byronz for four years and I can say that this is one great restaurant. From the owners all the down to the dishwashers... Everyone is here to make the customers happy and sale beautiful food. We get it out hot and fast! And we also have reasonable prices! Come out and enjoy!
Never disappoints. We love Byronz. The patio is great on a cooler evening. The food is always great. Glad to have Bistro Byronz around the corner.
Thanks to a recommendation of a friend, we chose Bistro Byronz as our dinner spot and all 6 of the party I was with were all impressed and happy with the food! Service and atmosphere were great too. The Abita chili is good, the blue chips, and the burgers. All wonderful. The debris sandwich seemed to be my favorite and I can't wait to go back and get it!
One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge. Service is always excellent, great atmosphere and amazing food. Their white beans and rice are the best I've ever had and the debris sandwich is incredible.
Yummy!. Stopped in for lunch today after finding Fleur de Lis closed. So glad we did because the atmosphere and the food was great. I can't wait to go back and try more of the dishes, which have a comfort food appeal to them. One thing I will say was a negative, and it's not just this restaurant that is guilty of this..... turn the music down! I would love to go somewhere for a meal and enjoy talking with my dinner companion(s), without the head pounding distraction of music, or the visual distraction of televisions (of which I only saw one, which isn't as bad as most places these days.)
In reference to the second post down. There is totally gueyere cheese in the turkey burger. I know it can frustrating to be completely cultinarily SCHOOLED by the server, but it happens to the best of us. In reference to the rest of the restaurant, I love the place! Having trouble picking something? Pick anything! You can't go wrong. Go for Sunday brunch! Nothing like it
Decent food & atmosphere. Two cocktails, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees (pasta dish & sandwich) and tip was $65. The food is on par with ZEA, but kind of expensive.
I go more for the atmospere - not the food. The food is good but nothing to sing about... Except for the blue cheese chips... I could sing about those
the place is super cute... Good if you are in the mood to socialize in a cute setting
Went back four days later..... This place blew my mind. I never saw it possible to give someone else's pot roast favor over my own mother's, but Byronz has surpassed my expectations and left my mother quite angry. The ambiance is very inviting; the granny's house/soda fountain feel are refreshing. Great for dates.
Incredible. Went to this place on a date night with my wife and it was unbelievable!! food was incredible and Vodka Freeze was one of the best drinks I have ever had. Will definitely be back.
Yummy lunch!. Stopped here for lunch a couple of weeks ago- appropriate prices and good service. Warm, bright, French-country atmosphere. I had the club sandwich- very good. Very much attention to detail. Would highly recommend the Bleu Mac and Cheese. It's nothing short or amazing!
Mostly good!. Been eating here since they opened! Food is good! Atmosphere is fun! The service excels at mediocre!
Events. Cute restaurant, French kitchen-esk feel. The food is so flavorful here, and I can tell the details and presentation are important to the management. The shrimp and corn soup is remarkable. I hosted a client lunch here for 15 people in 2010 before Bayou Country Superfest, and the staff did a great job of making sure we had a nice table and professional service.
If you are planning events, Bistro Byronz has one large Private Room that seperates into two rooms, first seats 16 and the other seats 30-40. Together this room seats 60 ppl. They will also work with Non-Profit organizations for charity events where a portion of the profits go to the organization.
A Date Night Hit.. My wife and I went to BB's for a little dinner before a concert. What a nice suprise. The Blue Cheese Chips should not be missed. Check out the menu. Lots of choices but not overwhelming. Her Rosemary Roast Chicken was very flavorful and perfectly roasted and I fell in love with my sides-Creamed Spinach & Blue Mac n cheese. The King Cake Bread Pudding we had for dessert was a knockout. This was our first visit and we are really looking forward to our next.
Brunch. Wonderful Sunday brunch, with unconventional offerings.
Creole Grits & Grillades and a Milk Punch. One of the better version of grits & grillades I have found in Baton Rouge. And what better way to get a nice buzz for brunch than some good ole vitamin D milk for the bones with a very heavy hand of Burbon (Milk Punch)! Warning, the punch is not for the individual that doesn't like the strong taste of Burbon.
Great place for lunch. This restaurant has a great vibe, which is evident if you've ever dined there for lunch. The menu has lots of excellent selections from soups, salads, sandwiches to good ole southern home cooking. Service is decent, though sometimes it can take a while to get served.
When I first went there I had best hamburger steak.
Love The Turkey Burger. We visited Bistro Byronz last week two times and got the turkey burger. It is delicious. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Good service too. We love that Bistro Byronz helps the non-profits. What a win-win for everybody.
Has created a craving!. I am obessed with bistro byronz debris sandwich. it comes with mashed potatoes on an delicious roll. I must have
Great food. Had a really great lunch special there in pork chops with rice and gravy. Saw a lot of other people enjoying their sandwiches and homemade chips. Will be going back to try those things too!
Three words - Blue Cheese Chips. This is such a nice quaint restaurant with a nice menu that features quite a few local flavors, the Abita beer chili and the Abita root beer glazed pork. But the best thing on the menu, in my opinion, is the BLUE CHEESE CHIPS. The chips are thinly cut and fried fresh and crisp. Then they are topped with a light, creamy blue cheese sauce. The perfect mix of the salty chip and the salty cheese create a nice explosion of flavor. And the different in texture set this item over the top. Highly recommend.

A Culinary Adventure on Government Street Part I: Bistro Byronz. To see the full post including the pictures, go to http://jaydducote.blogspot.com
Wednesday evening Eusebio and I were hungry and bored... usually not a good combination. For us, however, it was just a good excuse for a culinary adventure. I had heard of a few things that I needed to eat since I started this blog and we decided to go give them a try. Bistro Byronz on Government Street was our first stop. We walked in and sat at the bar, ordered a couple drinks, and looked over their menu. The restaurant is fairly small and creates a cozy atmosphere for its diners. We were there to try the Blue Cheese Chips... a plate of freshly sliced, thin cut, golden fried, unsalted homemade potato chips that is topped with a creamy blue cheese sauce and chucks of crumbled, fresh blue cheese and garnished with some green onions.
Blue Cheese Chips at Bistro Byronz
Let me tell you friends, they were worth they hype. I'm not going to sit here and type that they were the best things that I've ever eaten or that they deserve a Nobel Peace Prize or anything, but they were pretty damn tasty! The potatoes were everything you want in a homemade chip. They were light and crunchy with the perfect thickness to provide a great dipping mechanism.
We also ordered a couple of other items just to give them a try and give us a little variety. The two dishes we tried were the carrot souffle and the Abita chili.
Carrot Souffle at Bistro Byronz
Abita Chili at Bistro Byronz
The carrot souffle was sweet and smooth, although in my opinion was a little too runny. It tasted like candy in the same style as candied yams during Thanksgiving but the texture was almost more of a thick soup than a creamy souffle. Still, the taste was great and being an item that you can't order everywhere in town, was worth a try. The Abita chili was a little disappointing. It had no flavor of any Abita beer whatsoever. The taste was fairly ordinary even with the addition of cheese, sour cream, and chives, and would be easy to duplicate at home. On tap of that, the chili was served at a luke warm temperature which was not even enough to melt the shredded cheese.
Bistro Byronz also makes a dessert that we wanted to taste but we were going to sample some dishes at another place on Government Street as well so we got it to go and ate it when we were back at home. The Bistro Bread Pudding was a delicious dessert that had blueberries baked in and was covered with a vanilla cream sauce. The texture was not as firm as I would like and felt like it may have needed a little more time in the oven. It almost had a custard texture which seemed odd for a bread pudding of that nature. The vanilla sauce was good but not out of this world. The Bistro Bread Pudding was certainly a good treat but not the best bread pudding I've ever had.
I enjoyed our samples from Bistro Byronz but we weren't there to eat a full meal as we had another place to go try. We left still hungry and made our way to Opie's Cajun Cafe for some more. To read about that part of the adventure go to the next post.

Blue cheese chips are never average. Their homemade blue cheese chips (think hot Zapps chips with crumbled blue cheese and a Mornay sauce) are awesome.
The sandwiches (the Byronz, Byronz Lite, burgers, and jr. sliced filet) are all excellent, as is the Steak Frites and the pot roast.
Better than average.... I am a bimonthly or better patron of Bistro Byronz and have only two bad things to say about this place: from time to time you get fairly slow, nonchalant and even cavalier service and when that's not the case, you get super attentive service that makes you feel like you're being rushed to make room for the next paying customer. The food is great, the menu is not all over the place, the prices are appropriate for the quality, and the atmosphere has a welcoming, old diner quality with a touch of class added.

I tried out Bistro Byronz today and must say I wish I'd gone years ago when they first re-opened on Government Street. I say re-opened because apparently they left Baton Rouge for 20 years only to return in 2006. I'd meant to give them a try but they're a
