Another classic. Long time fixture in Urbandale, diner type atmosphere and menu. Speed burger is one of the best burgers in BC. Open 24 hours fri and sat for the bar crowd, big breakfast and lunch business as well. Good food made to order and good prices, a classi "greasy spoon" in a good way!
First, atmosphere. We did not go inside so I gave it a 1 because I had no idea about that
The cod dinner was great, 3 pieces under ten bucks. Applesauce and hash browns were had in the side.

Only problem I had. So if you divide the 8.25 by 3 pieces of just the fish alone..., That equals 2.75 a piece. Then that doesn't factor in potato's or applesauce.
Many places will let you ala carte extra pieces of fish. And they do.
When I went there last night, I got charged 5.25 for an extra piece.
By the math, I was close to having two extra pieces and feel this was unacceptable. The fish was really good and tender. I feel it should not be that high. Ain't nobody breaking their arms throwing in two extra pieces for 5.50 and that's giving it a bit extra..
That fish was actually less per piece because of the hash browns and applesauce not being factored into my example.
Took a trip down memory lane. Used to work here 40 + years ago. Hasn't changed much. Good prices. Great milk shakes. Great staff
