I happened to be in Beaumont from Galveston and decided to try Elena’s. First of all I’ve never had nachos with both chile con queso AND cheese. It was awesome!! Of course I ordered Serrano chiles toreados to slice up on them and a side of refritos. Salsa had a nice kick to it also.

It was our 1st visit; my daughter's co-workers raved about the other location near downtown, so she wanted to try the Phelan location. The atmosphere was very casual and comfortable. We found their menu options gave you several selections or combos to choose from. They have daily specials, and their prices are fair. I got a taco plate with beef and chicken crunchy tacos, and both were excellent! The presentation was good, and the portion was great. My daughter's burrito that was smothered in queso was huge! I'm looking forward to returning with my husband.
