Yes, the food is good. But the cheesecake makes my heart cry tears of joy. I always get the plain one so the berry sauce doesn't interfere with the pure, rich flavor. I brought a whole cake to my omni family's Thanksgiving and they decided there is no way it's vegan, TBS must be pulling a fast one. Also, I bring the bacon camping and all my omni friends and their kids are lining up at the skillet.

This place got me through my first few months of being vegan!! I was craving fried chicken and The Butcher's Son saved the day! The staff is friendly and the food is delicious! I tell everyone about this place and will be a returning customer until they go out of business, 5 stars is not enough for this place...oh by the way...try the cheesecake!!!!!!

Each component to our food was so well thought out, successfully adding layers upon layers of flavors! Every flavor sensation is intentional here and again, adds to the overall incredible experience. The Butcher's Son is my new obsession. I'm coming back to try everything! The Original Grinder sandwich is a fantasy come to life. It was everything I've always wanted in a sandwich but have never, ever been able to attain! Not just satisfied, literally blown away! Hubby got the Blue Cheese Burger. Unreal! Again, THE FLAVORS! Rarely do we find a place that nails it so hard on so many levels! It was Saturday afternoon, tons of decent restaurants on University. Only The Butcher's Son had a non-stop line out the door and around the corner! See you soon T.B.S. 😍😘💕🌟✨

Omg please open a location in San Francisco in either the Haight or the Castro! I would eat here all the time. I had a hard time deciding because everything sounded so amazing. I decided on the chicken sandwich which was INCREDIBLE! Sampled a few desserts too--the blueberry cheesecake, the scone, the Rocky Road bar, and the cannoli. All amazing! My friends said their tuna melt was too greasy. Otherwise I can't say enough about how great my meal was. Expect a long lineup and limited seating! More locations please. This is the future of food! My friends have never seen such amazing vegan food options.

Came in yesterday with my lady after hearing about the place from a coworker.. Tried the pulled pork sandwich, mushroom and blue cheese burger, fried mozzarella and meatball sandwich... It was very good and when I say I thought I was eating real blue cheese, its because I did! 100% recommend and will be back..

No foodie has any excuse to eat products derived from animals at a deli when they can go to The Butcher's Son and enjoy the same sandwiches, desserts and flavors ordered from a fully vegan menu. As a vegan, the food was so realistic, I was even reluctant to try it at first, but I tasted several dishes and was very favorably impressed. The counter service was super friendly too. Highly recommended!

Some of best vegan food ever. Some of best food ever. I'm so impressed. Wish you were closer. We tried the chicken parmesan and the meatball grinder. Just thoroughly enjoyed. Plus we had the "cheesecake"

This place is the amazing! (Ignore anything less than a 5-star review; you got to watch out for those trolls...) We ordered in and then ordered extra to go, for our flight back to Ohio. Can't wait till our next visit to Berkeley, just to go eat here! <3

Been here a couple times, the food is amazing but can be hard to find seating - hopefully their new location will have more seating available :) While I got made fun of for trying the simple-sounding caprese sandwich last time I was here, the vegan fresh mozzarella was astoundingly delicious. Can't wait to try more items here!

Went today for the first time and my family and I loved it! Delicious food and great texture- my 3 year old especially loved the vegan fried chicken! Will definitely be ordering their holiday meal!

One of my favorite places in the Bay Area. Everything I've ordered has been mind blowing and tasty. A lot if old favorites you may have thought you'd never have again. Food so good it fools carnivores. Fantastic!

Absolutely delicious. While I am not vegan, I still go out of my way to eat at The Butcher's Son frequently and love every single bite of it. I hope that this restaurant becomes a mainstay of Berkeley and is here for many, many years to come.

Dangerously good sandwiches. The best vegan cheesecake I've ever had for sure. Expensive but the quantity of food is immense so plan to share, have leftovers, or take a nap after.
