I was craving BBQ today, when I remembered seeing Costa's in Wilwood. I used to eat at the one in Huffman all of the time when I worked in that area. This place did not disappoint! I had the 4 rib plate with okra and potato salad. Huge portions and the meat fell off of the bone. The young lady at the window was very couteous and asked if I needed anything else before I drove away. I definitely will be coming her again! It is drive through service only, but that would have been my choice anyway.
I ran through the drive-thru on a recent trip home to Birmingham. I hadn't had Costa's in years and was in the area and nostalgia got the best of me. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, and a sweet tea. My bill was around $7 and I thought it appropriate. I had the regular (not jumbo) sandwich. It had a nice smoked flavor but came heftily sauced to my dismay. The flavor of the sauce was decent and I ate all of my sandwich.
The beans were good, but mustard based and didn't really stand out. The tea was a little weak on both the tea and sugar.
I would go again because it satisfied me and was quick and cheap. However, I wouldn't drive across town for it, especially since my parents like down the street from Jim and Nick's and Full Moon.
Great BBQ Pork Potatoes. Lately it seems like I've been stopping by Costa's on Lakeshore nearly every week or every other week. Their BBQ pork potatoes are so great. The wait isn't typically very long, considering the food is likely prepared when you order, and isn't just sitting there beforehand. The people are generally friendly, and for the price, I love it. The BBQ pork meat is so good. The potato is loaded with meat (and unfortunately butter, but it's no deal-breaker for me). Their sauce is good too, I wish they'd give more than two small sample cups of it, haha. I recommend this place and the food.
