Love this place - my brother told me about it and I've already gone back 3 times in the past two weeks - it's nice that brighton finally has a good Asian/ fusion place -the red curry ramen with pork made all my ramen dreams come true !!!! Nommmmm and whatever is in that salad dressing needs to be bottled and sold
The Service: I am confused by this place, it seems like an odd hybrid. You order and pay at the counter, but if you sit they will bring you your food, but not necessarily silverware, napkins, etc... which you get yourself, also it seems they would like you to bus your own table. I am happy with this as I don't have to tip any waitstaff (I'm cheap) and I am willing to be confused to save some money.
The food: Scallion pancakes were yummy, heartier than expected, maybe a bit heavy handed. I had Pad Thai, which I always order and rarely love because it never matches my ideal (from a Thai restaurant in Allston 30 years ago). There's was fine, a little gluey but tasty. The deserts were amazing, coconut ice cream, banana / plantain things, a really nice surprise.
The experience: We were, I believe, the very first customers and had the place to ourselves. It was clearly advertised as a "soft opening," I am not an industry expert so I don't know exactly what that means. The staff was very pleasant, but with quite disparate language and restaurant skills.
It seems somewhat ridiculous to review a restaurant on its first couple of days, but based on the lavish 3 course meal for two we had for $15 it would be silly to rate this deal at fewer than 5 stars.
What a nice surprise! Looking for a restaurant close to where I live still open at 10PM - and found Twelve Hours on Eat 24! What a treat! Just finished the delicious Green Curry with chicken, and too full to eat the seaweed salad that I ordered. I will be back! Try this place, seconds from Newton Corner, where I live!
