Just trying to get a bite to eat on a Sunday morning. Fortunately they open at 11 am.
Here is the good. Their buffet for preparing your BBQ is very well stocked with a multitude of options. They have a bunch of choices for sauces, so many I lost count, that run the gamut from spicy to mild, and cross borders from Asian origin and inspired sauces to other ethnic cooking types. Meat? Have they got meat! Chicken, pork, beef, fish, scallops, shrimp, bacon, that's right good ole' fashioned American smoked belly bacon. Ever wonder what Mongolian beef would taste like with bacon? Here's your chance. Hell yes I did that. All fried up on a circular grill and served to your table. They've got beer. Fosters, Coors, and Anchor Steam on tap, along with Lagunitas, some Kona offerings, and a couple of Pyramids, in bottle for those that are part of the Ale revolution. It is 'all you can eat' for dinner; one bowl at a reduced price for lunch. Price, got in and out of lunch for me my young son, and my wife for less than $30 bucks including 20% tip and a beer. So Score! I found the help to be extremely friendly. As I was cleaning up for my toddler after the meal, it was the first time in ANY restaurant that the server came by to bus the table and said, "hey you don't need to do that it's my job, I deal with it all the time."
Decor is basic, a lot of Hawaiian theme, mixed with Mongolian theme. Straight up concrete slab floor. The service aisle looked a little plain compared to the rest of the restaurant. Not undecorated, any means, the decor was themed, aesthetically pleasing and thought out. But posh it is not.
Ok now the meh. Mongolian buffets I have eaten at along with offering a takeout policy offer a "take home" policy if you only get one bowl. This place has no such option. Even if you only run through with one bowl you are not allowed to take home excess. So no doggie bags, judge well what you can eat, of course for dinner you can always go back for more.
Great 80's music everyone moves to. Great calamari. Family owned and run. It was so yummy! The Tso sauce is the best!
