This was a recommendation from Yelp and as long as I love bakeries, I decided to try it. The place itself is very small (we managed to find a place for our baby stroller though), pies’ assortment was very poor (only three pies at around 3 pm but I believe they bake though the whole day and it is always different).
I ordered pecan molasses and maple walnut. Pies are quite good, it can be easily said that they are baked from the scratch using the whole ingredients, just like homemade. But I can’t tell that it’s the best pie, pieces are also so small that I had to take scone and muffin in addition to feel full.
Overall, it was nice experience but definitely The Blue Stove did not become my favourite bakery.
The plum raspberry crumble is up there with the best pies I've ever had. The bacon scone was also amazingly delicious - smokey and moist and yummy. Molasses coffee cake was just ok, though. There were lots of delicious sounding pies generally.
So five stars for the pie, but word of warning about the limited seating - there were a few people camped will out with laptops, which didn't leave much remaining space for us to sit and eat out goodies.
Amazing pies and coffee. Have the pies to stay and they will warm them up for you. Faves - guava chess, bourbon pecan, all the fruit crumbles
